Cassie fluttered her eyes open. She relaxed some more when she felt the soft bed she’s in, reaching the fluffy pillow on her head. She slowly shifted when she heard the steady humming of the AC nearby before settling her eyes on the thin curtain draped on the old windows, bathing in the light of the afternoon sun.
