That Shy Girl

Chapter 1

Day 28 of loneliness in school.

Ahh, you see I'm not really outgoing or rather approachable. I was always known for being the awkward, ugly, nerd. I was hoping for a new life when I transferred but I guess nothing's changed.

I'm still stuck at my situation

However, I think I endured this all my life. So it's not a big problem… I guess?

I'm an introvert, but most introverts have at least one friend. I don't. My parents were worried for me, they just won't tell me.

After finishing my food, I went to the art club's room. Oh yeah, I love art too. It's the only thing i'm good at. When I went in, I didn't notice there was someone already. Not just someone, he's my former classmate in grade 5. And the current president of the club and the council.

We're both grade 11 now, and he knows pretty much how I suck at school that time. We don't even talk to each other, only a few times I guess.

I suddenly felt awkward thinking that there's only the two of us here.

"Hi Jade" Felix smiled, Omg he remembers my name?

I fixed my glasses "Oh- uh, hi Felix"

I went to the most back part of the seat and brought out my small sketchbook journal to keep myself busy while waiting for the others.

I slowly pushed the mechanical pencil, ahh it's so satisfying. Now, what should I draw??

I checked my surroundings, there are too many things to draw. Then what caught my attention was that statue portrait of zeus. It was new to the works I've seen in the room. I always go to this room because this was like my rest place.

I started to do the basic shapes while looking at my subject. Drawing light guidelines first, then put on the details and started shading. Actually I made changes, I kind of made a woman version of Zeus.

I looked at my work, and my eyes dazzled at how good it turned out. I smiled at myself and admired more of my art. Ahh, the strands of hair was too satisfying for me, and the face I made imagining those renaissance paintings, and omg the dress, I–

"Wow" I was startled by the voice behind me that made me drop my sketchbook

The girl immediately bent down to pick it up.

"Oh, my bad for peeking" she gave the sketchbook to me "By the way i'm Kirsten" I shook her hand

"I-im Jade. Amora Jade Austria"

"Dang, your name is as beautiful as your art" she complimented and sat in the seat next to me. I suddenly felt nervous, there were a lot vacant seats but she chose to be beside me.

Of course I blushed! Although I know everyone who I Showed my artworks was also amazed, they were only chosen. This Kirsten just peeked and said wow.

"Thank you"

"Grade 11 also right? I kind of notice you always in your section"

"Really?" Ugh, my answer is always short.

Since the almost all members are already here, Felix went in front and made an announcement

"Goodmorning, so I will just say a few announcements before we start. First things first, we are assigned to design all of the bulletin boards around the school. We usually change them every month, which is done by partner. We'll discuss about the partner later," He explained very well

Actually this was the first time I saw him talk with such confidence. I remember when we were classmates how shy he was.

"Next, in the future as we all know that there are a lot of events going on, we are also assigned to decorate the court and other important places. And lastly," he gestured to the vice president, Crizel

"As we are known to be the artists of the school, we will be given the chance to repaint the inner walls of our campus. The concept will be discussed in 2 weeks, so I would like to ask everyone to make suggestions to be discussed that day." She looks like a model, she's so pretty.

"Ok, so that's all for the announcement, you may now enter the class sir Reyes" the whole class laughed

Sir Reyes, who was leaning on the door the whole time was smirking, Felix went back to his seat with a smile. They seem very close "Sorry i'm late class, although thanks for Lix announcing all the important stuff. I won't be discussing about those again since he explained it very well, but if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask"

Sir Reyes proceeded to our first activity.

I looked at Felix again. Wow, he's really changed. I wish I could too.

I looked away as soon as he noticed me staring at him.

I went to the cafeteria to grab a sandwich, and went to the court and sat where there are less people. I spotted Felix being tailed by Crizel.

Then I saw Kirsten with some of her friends, chatting.

I looked around, I think this will be another boring year.

I usually wait for most of the people to leave school. What do I do that time? Well… I either draw, paint, read, watch, day dream, whatever I can think of. If I go home too early, I would just feel more alone. Tomorrow I'm planning to stroll near places.

Alrighty! It's 6:30, I should go home now. I just walk the distance, not that I'm low on budget. I just like to walk and watch the sky transition from purple pink to dark blue.

It always feels magical to see the sky, especially when you listen to music. Oh! I remember buying a chocolate bar earlier that I didn't eat, this is the perfect timing.

Oooooh, I feel just like a kid. After taking a bite, it's as if all my fatigue washed out instantly.

I got home safely and happily. I did all of the assignments and watched netflix all the way. Having my own dorm wasn't bad, It was very peaceful. If only I wasn't exhausted, I could go all crazy fun on my own here. But it was a nice day.

As I was about to sleep, I at least interacted with two people today. It was a nice feeling.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I stretched and sat up, oof my back is a bit sore. Artist problems, most of us sat like a shrimp.

Another day to look forward to!
