Chapter 13 - Suspicions

Vincent's POV
I was trying to concentrate on what was being discussed to me by Mimi but I can't seem to focus on anything other than my thoughts on Jules. It was strange, because he wasn't even here and I kept on thinking about him. He's at school today and his best friend—who I didn't even know existed and I didn't even know the name of—apparently invited us for a double date with his boyfriend—who I also didn't catch the name of—and he agreed, even though we were still trying to confirm our feelings towards each other. Like, kung sure ba kaming gusto nga talaa naming mag-sama and date. Well at least, he told me about the double date thingy.
"—So I need you to produce at least two copies of this scene, Mr. Saavedra." Mimi said, finishing up her conclusion about my upcoming project.
"Are you still with me, Mr. Saavedra?" She asked looking exasperated and so done with me. I smiled apologetically.
"Sorry," I said looking at her and noticing that she's giving me a raised eyebrow look and she sighed. "Tell you what, I will finish this one this weekend and I'll fax you the copies and all." I added.
At first she looked dubious about what I am saying and I can't even blame her because I really had this knack of not finishing the manuscripts on time. But I looked at her, giving her the most sincere puppy dog eyes I have.
"But?" She asked. I smiled.
"But you have to let me take a break for three days the next week before handing me the next project." I answered. She shook her head.
"Two. Hanggang two days lang ang maibibigay ko sa iyo, Vince. You know that." Sabi niya.
"Hindi pwedeng three?" I asked sadly. Balak ko sanang sorpresahin si Jules eh.
"Two days." Sabi niya.
After a few more minutes of discussions ay napapayag ko din siya sa wakas! Yes!
"I'm back!" I heard Jules call from the foyer. I smiled.
"Pleasure doing business with you again, Mr. Saavedra." Sabi ni Mimi and she extended her hand, which I took.
"Ditto. Thank you for accomodating my request!" Masayang sabi ko sa kaniya.
"You're welcome," She replied.
Nang makarating si Jules sa may living room kung saan kami nag-discuss ng new project ni Mimi ay nakita niya ang babae an gave her a greeting.
"Hi," sabi ni Jules and I have to supress a laugh at the look he gave me, like I was cheating on his back with Mimi when we don't really have anything going on. Ang weird lang dahil parang kapatid ang turing ko kay Mimi kaya't wala talagang mamamagitan sa amin.
Mimi greeted him back and went out the door, not bothering to wait for a reply.
"Hindi ko alam na nandito pala siya." Sabi ni Jules. I shook my head and couldn't supress the laugh that I was holding in. He just looked at me suspiciously and went straight next-door to change before we engage tonight.
