PROLOGUE

402 Words
Prologue: Slowly wiping the blood off my hands, a figure caught my attention from the hallway. I pretended not to be confused and startled by the figure that walks around the corner for a second. I guess my job here is committed. I gazed at the dead bodies lying on the floor, one of the eyes was looking at me. It offered me chills throughout my body. But that didn't concern me. I looked up and saw a bird flying around in circles. The cold breeze wrapped my body for a minute as it brushed my hair playfully. What are the odds? I am standing inside an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere. I looked at my dress, it was barely torn apart by the swings and sways of blades that I dodged from the quarrel I had earlier. It was not crucial. It wasn't supposed to go that far. We could just talk it out, like business matters. His men are excessively weak, it could be more fun if they brought guns. Blades are all they can afford to manipulate. What a mess, I guessed. Sullivan does not stop there, he will not rest until he kills me. I guessed it was because I killed his son. But that's just the beginning of having a fair amount of fight. Now the karma hits harder than I thought. I immediately picked up the spare blades his men possessed in trying to kill me. Most of them were covered in blood, but I didn't mind because I needed these to survive or else my mission would be a failure. It's past afternoon, and I need to get home. I got outside the building and immediately rushed to my car and started the engine. A couple of minutes later, I got out of the scene and pretended as if nothing took place. The scent of blood replaced the aroma of my car. Now it stinks, the scent of revenge was worse than I expected, but I learned to live with it through periods. I guess this is all how it is supposed to be, and all I can do is learn and accept the fate that was given to me. Being an assassin and a spy at the same time was not easy, but I didn't want to do this without a purpose. And that purpose is something that I would savor forever.
