Chapter 3 (The Plan)
Mr. Cooper's POV
"Mom, didn't I tell you not to go out alone without me?" I said seriously to Mom when I arrived at the police station.
I don't know where she went. The only thing I know is that someone called me to inform me that my mom was here.
"How can I not go out alone? Every time I ask you to come, you're always busy. You don't have time for me anymore, son," Mom said sadly, as if it was my fault that I left her alone in the mansion.
"What happened, Mom, and why did you end up here at the police station?" I asked, just to change the topic so she wouldn't blame me.
"I encountered a bad people in the street. They took my wallet and jewelries. But it's a good thing a woman helped me. She's so brave, son. Her courage was amazing earlier. If she didn't come, they might have killed me," she said as if she already liked the woman.
"Where is she now so I can thank her?" I asked.
"She already went home, son. She didn't even ride with us... It's a shame I didn't even get to see her beautiful face. Anyway, I already had the incident blotted, so the police will be stricter now," Mom said.
"Did they hurt you, Mom?" I asked for assurance. I even checked both of my mom's arms, just to make sure that she was okay.
"What are you talking about, son? Are you even listening to what I said? I told you that I'm fine. Someone helped me, right? Besides, I only lost money and jewelry, and I have a lot of those," she said.
"Next time, Mom, please don't be so stubborn... Let's go home," I just told her.
We then left the police station. And this time, Mom and I were inside the car.
"Mike, be honest with me. Are you gay, son?" This was the first thing that came out of my mom's mouth when I started driving.
"Mom, what kind of question is that?" I replied to her.
"Your age is way past the calendar, son. But you haven't introduced me to a single woman? A girlfriend. So I thought, maybe you really are gay," she said.
"You think differently, Mom. You even judged my personality just because I don't have a girlfriend yet," I said, shaking my head.
"Any person, son, would think that, especially since you're a man. But it would be a waste, son, if you turn out to be gay. How will our businesses grow if there's no one to inherit them? You know that you're my only son. So you need to have an heir," she said again.
I think I already know where this conversation is going. My mom will surely nag me again to have a wife.
"Mom, I don't need to rush into that kind of thing. I'm still a strong person. I can handle everything. The University, the Company, and even the restaurant, I can manage it all," I said again to let her know that I don't need a wife.
"I know you're good, son. But I'm old now. Don't you want to see your mother happy? At this age, I want to have a grandchild. And when that happens, you won't have to worry about me anymore because I'll always be in the mansion taking care of my grandchild," she said restlessly.
Because of what my mom said, Angel suddenly came to my mind. The stripper woman that I bought for three million. She's a virgin. So she's a clean woman and I can take her as a surrogate for my child.
"You suddenly stopped, Mike... What are you thinking? Have you decided to get married, son?" Mom said again.
I came back to my senses, causing me to hold my forehead.
"No, Mom. I don't want to get into that kind of relationship yet," I immediately replied.
It's a mistake to use Angel just to fulfill my mom's wish. I don't know the woman that well yet. But one thing I know to myself, I got interested in her.
"If that's the case, then you're also saying that you're really gay," Mom said, which irritated my ears.
"I'm not gay, Mom... I can make as many women pregnant as I want, okay?"
"Then do it. Prove that you're a man," she replied, as if Mom was really challenging me.
She really knows how to get on my nerves.
"Fine... Just give me two months, Mom. I'll find a woman to have a child with."
"No, son. You don't need to look for a woman to be your wife. Instead, I have a suggestion to give," Mom said excitedly as if she was re-energized.
"What did you say, Mom?"
"I have a suggestion for you, son... Why don't you marry the woman that helped me? The woman who saved me earlier. She's brave, kind, and I'm sure you're both compatible with each other," she said to me with a smile.
"That's what I was saying, Mom. You planned all of this. You want to annoy me just so I'll grant your wish," I said, shaking my head.
"Son, what I'm saying is for your own good... You need to have a good wife. And she's perfect for you."
"That's the hard part about you, Mom. You're too quick to trust."
"I owe my life to that young lady. So as a thank you, I want her to be part of our family. — So I will look for that woman, and when I find her, I will introduce you to her," Mom said.
I didn't say anything else because I knew I wouldn't win this argument. I just chose to be silent and focus my attention on driving. But to be honest, I have no plan to follow what my mom wants. So before she gets ahead of me, I need to talk to Angel—I need to convince her to be my girlfriend.
