Chapter 9

855 Words
"So Mayor slept here?! Nicole, he's so handsome! Especially up close!" "Shh. Don't be so loud, Layla! He might wake up—oh, he is! Let's go! Let's go back to the kitchen! He might see us!" The giggling of two women woke Chase up the next day. He was surprised where he was and why he was hearing noises. Obviously he's not in his room. Because none of their helpers are allowed to enter his room. When he opened his eyes, he realized he was still at the Adams' house—causing him to sit up immediately. "Oh s**t!" he cursed when he suddenly felt dizzy and his temples throbbed in pain. What happened last night that he has a hangover? He wasn't able to go home last night because of the bad weather. He recalled what happened last night. He talked to Fernando Adams, who told him that Francine still doesn't want to face him. They were in the living room and he was offered coffee. Soon after, Fernando excused himself to rest since it was getting late. Until Francine's twin came and they both drank because she said she would help him talk to his girlfriend. That's all Chase could remember. So he tried to recall everything that happened last night. He really got too drunk. He sat at the sofa then massaged his temple. He even closed his eyes. But a loud curse escaped his lips when he remembered something. 'It's okay, Chase. Hold me as long as you want. Because I'm not Francine, I'm Franceska.' "Damn it!" He immediately stood up because of that. And he was about to leave when Fernando came down the stairs. "Mayor, you're still here and haven't gone home. Come, join us for coffee at the table," he invited him, but he refused. "I'll go ahead," he said. He didn't wait for the latter's response and quickly left the house. When Chase got inside his car, he punched the steering wheel. What did he do last night? Why does he remember something like that? Why did he suddenly hear Francine's twin's voice in his mind? Did he do something— Chase massaged his temple. He just hoped his suspicion was wrong. Because if it turns out to be true, his sin against Francine will increase and she will surely not forgive him! His hand formed into fist at that time he sped up the car. *** Franceska woke up the next day with a smile. She was excited to get up, knowing the Mayor was downstairs. She wanted to see his reaction after what happened last night. After what they did, it was impossible that he wasn't driven crazy by her kisses. And it was also impossible that he was still thinking of Francine. After getting up, she went straight to the bathroom and took a shower. She didn't stay long, worried she might miss Chase downstairs. As usual, she wore a sleeveless top and short shorts. She also put blush on her cheeks and lipstick on her lips. Satisfied with her appearance, she went out. She was excited to see the young man. But when she got downstairs, he wasn't on the sofa anymore. She thought he might be at the table, so she went straight there. She could hear the sound of cutlery, so they might already be having breakfast. When she got there, she immediately looked for Chase. But she couldn't find him, so she was disappointed. He might have really gone home, and only her parents, Layla, and Nicole were there. So instead of joining breakfast, Franceska left to return to her room. She would just have breakfast later. But before she could leave completely, she heard her mother and father talking. "Mayor didn't go home last night. I saw him earlier when I went down. But he left immediately," her father said. "He slept on the sofa? Poor thing. How embarrassing," her mother said. "It seems Francine still hasn't talked to him. I went into the room past twelve last night, still nothing. It seems your daughter doesn't want to get back together, Melissa." Franceska raised an eyebrow. Doesn't want to get back together? Then what was the crying about last night? "Isn't Mayor coming back here? You said he left immediately. Could he have changed his mind? Given up on Francine? What a waste of their year," her mother said. A year? They've been together for a year? She shook her head at that. She didn't pay much attention to it and continued listening. "I don't know. He didn't say anything." After that, Franceska stopped listening and went up to her room. She sat on the bed. Not coming back? That couldn't be. How would she seduce Chase if he wasn't going to show up at their house anymore? Franceska thought. She shook her head. It was impossible for Chase not to come to them anymore. They had an agreement that she would help him talk to Francine. That's right! And when that happens, she will take that opportunity to shift his attention to her. Too bad for Francine.
