I was laughing along with Zenaida when Preston and Tyrell came here in our house.
We agreed to have our projects done here instead because there is enough space for everyone. While me and Zenaida will sleep in my room, the boys will have to take the guest room downstairs.
The four of us became closer as time passes by. We became inseparable.
And, with them being consistent Dean's Listers, I couldn't be more prouder. Me and Preston may not be smart enough but I am still proud that we are on the average list.
"Ayon naman, may foods!" Zenaida squealed in glee.
"Mukha kang PG!" Preston rolled his eyes and handed us some peanuts and softdrinks in can which I said no to.
"Lagay ko lang sa ref to. Anong gusto nyo, rootbeer or coke or royal?" I asked when I got hold of the plastic of drinks.
"Rootbeer." Preston said.
"Royal." That was Zenaida.
"Only water." Tyrell said while smiling at me. I returned his smile knowing we agree on the same thing.
I got them empty glasses and waters for me and Tyrell after I placed the remaining refreshments inside the refrigerator.
I found them busy munching on Growers and Dingdongs while sprawled on the carpeted floor of the living room.
Our topic for our baby thesis was about the common problems tourists encounter in hotels which serves as an implication for a strategic marketing program. Yes, it may sound common but for us who are after improving the service in the industry, it is an ultimate goal: getting positive feedbacks and reaching the sales (as per monetary concerns).
We started working on it and didn't get to check what time is it when I heard a knock on the door.
I frowned thinking Mom isn't due home yet. She told me that she'll be coming in by 6pm tonight.
I opened the door and my eyes widened when I saw who it was.
There, in front of me, is Billy who was donned with his simple grey tee and denim shorts. Simpleng pumorma pero ang gwapo!
And in his hands were a handful of paperbags from a famous fastfood chain.
"Love!" I said recovering from surprise. He bent over and planted a quick kiss on my lips.
I helped him with the paperbags and have it unloaded on the dining table.
I heard him bumped fists with the guys and high-fived Zenaida at the living room. I glanced at the time and noticed that it was past 12pm already.
"Mga trops! Kain na tayo! Nakalimutan ko pala kayong paglutuan kanina—" I called out to them but was cut off by Billy's arms embracing from behind.
I heard footsteps from behind us and I tapped his arms telling him to stop. He knows I hate PDAs but he still keeps doing so.
"Wow! Foods uli!" Zenaida clapped when she saw the fried chicken and burger steak resting on the table.
"Takaw talaga!" Preston shook his head while Tyrell chuckled.
"Buti nga may pagkain pa tayo eh." Zenaida shot back and she began to sit down.
"Wow, may-ari ng bahay? Nauna pang umupo?" Preston asked sarcastically.
"Ano ba, ayos lang!" I laughed while we started sitting down too.
Instead of sitting at the head of the table, I sat beside Billy and it was Preston who sat there.
"Kayong lahat ay pinatatawag ko." Preston began and we all laughed at him.
"Daming ebas! Kain na po!" Tyrell said and we indeed started to eat.
When we were done, Zenaida volunteered to wash the plates.
"Ang tagal nyo na pala, pre no?" Preston asked Billy when we are at the couch.
"Yup." Billy simply said as he watched us work on our thesis.
"Mag- one year pa lang!" I exclaimed in protest not removing my eyes from the laptop.
"One year almost as lovers but friends for more than two years." Billy corrected and chuckled.
"Naks! Friends to lovers pala kayo!" Zenaida commented as she approached us from the kitchen.
"Sana all!" Preston butted in which earned a laugh from me and Tyrell.
"Wag ka na kasing torpe, brad." Billy remarked which Preston shook his head to.
Me and Tyrell didn't know if Zenaida was just taking it slow or she's just dense because Preston keeps on making fun at and teasing her. It's obvious that he likes her and she's just ignoring it.
Oh well, it's their call. I just hope that they will end up together. They are just perfect for each other!
Our thesis-making ended by 4pm today. We bid our goodbyes and Billy was nice enough to drop them off to the jeep terminal.
I was about to close the door when I saw Tyler, Tyrell's older brother, parked his car beside us.
Being neighbors, I got to know them for quite some time. And at the moment, it was Tyrell whom I was closest to because of the fact that we are classmates and friends.
If Tyrell is friendly and amicable, Tyler is the opposite. He is the cold one.
He has this domineering and intimidating aura and when you locked eyes with him, you couldn't see anything. He is not transparent like Tyrell. Para bang nasa loob ang kanyang kulo.
"Good evening, Tyler." I greeted him with a smile which he acknowledged with a nod as he went inside their house.
I sighed and closed the door. There's no point being friendly to somebody like Tyler.
