Chapter 2
“Have you ever read the thirst tweet about you, Gov?”
He giggled as he awkwardly shook his hands. “Why would they do that?”
“Well obviously, honorable governor because you are hot.”
Was it necessary on this interview?
“You are young and well accomplished person. Everyone would want to be your partner. Mapa-Babae, Lalake, Tomboy, Bakla—they want you, Gov.”
“Oh.”
This interview was supposedly about the development project during my term and I didn’t know why it went to this.
“None.”
He saw the interviewer smiled and giggled. “Why?”
He was about to say something when she interrupted him. “Was it because you are scared that what happened to your parents might happen to your family too?”
Then, everyone in the room went silent.
The assistant of Governor turned pale to the sudden question. It wasn’t on the script. Rat.
“Gwen! Stop it.” One of the technical team of the interviewer shouted but she didn’t budge and she continued to look at the Governor.
“How th—”
“I guess you should bid farewell to your family too.”
The girl shaken up and crammed at agad na bumagsak sa sahig para lumuhod at humawak ng mahigpit sa panatlon ng gobernador.
“S-Sorry, G-governor. I-It wasn’t m-my intenti—” She pleaded.
The governor gave her a sweet smile as if he is an angel. But he pouted and shook his head.
“No.”
“She’s nosy.”
His assistant—Peter nod. “Sorry, Jan. Got your hands dirty again.”
“Technically—it wasn’t mine but she’s still nosy though. She deserves it.” His pace quicken as he saw a lot of employees are eyeing them ever since they went out to the media room.
“How do you like her to die? Salvaged? Throw up in the river? There are always 101 options, Jan but let me just tell you— she is one of the famous media person dito sa Probinsya ng Mirasol don’t you think it would be so obvious kung bigla lang siya mamamatay?”
“She doesn’t deserve to die immediately, Pete. Let her suffer.”
Peter whistled. “Oh. Torture.”
Nilingon niya ang assistant at kinindatan. “Make her my minion. You know what to do.”
He negotiates.
“Kahit dalawang buwan pa. Go.” His assistant smiled in achievement at napamahinang Yes pa siya.
“Sinabi mo yan ha.”
--
It was almost five in the afternoon when Peter slammed his office door at nanlaki ang mata na nilapitan si Alejandro na inaayos na niya ang gamit niya para umuwi.
“Jan. May problema tayo.”
“5, 4, 3…”
“Jan! Seryoso to!”
“2, 1…” A melodic dingdong chant surrounds the whole Capitol na nagpapaalam sa lahat na alas singko na ng hapon at kailangan ng umuwi. “Times up—I am going home! Spare that for tomorro—”
“What are you talking about? Who?”
“The Media. Gwen Puerto. She spilled the beans, Jan. It is positive.”
“How did you confirm na tauhan siya ni Santiago? She is a media, Peter.
“She talked to Santiago on the phone… with regards on your interview. They talked. Santiago wants to piss you and Gwen was the bait.”
That f*****g old endangered species.
“It was his plan to trigger you but little did he know na tauhan pa rin natin ang mga cameraman at staff maliban kay Gwen.”
“Where is she now? The Media? That f*****g Gwen.”
“They killed her.”
“Good.” He smiled at him na para bang wala lang may nangyari. “Now let me go home because I am going home for my princess.”
“Have you ever reconsidered what you have mentioned to me last week?”
“No. I still want it.” He unbotherly answered.
He scrooches down kahit nahihirapan siya but he likes how her eyes sparkle everytime she saw him. “Hi Roxxan. Kumusta? How’s school?”
“Tito Gov!
Alejandro smiled and gasp. “Talaga? Look how intelligent you are, Roxxan.”
“Pupunta ako sa birthday mo, okay?” he assured and the little girl just nod habang nakangiti sa gobernador. He gently mess the little girls hair and he has the urge to place a soft kiss on the top of her head but he just can’t. isn’t that wrong to see a grown ass man kiss young children? He is a Pedophile. That f*****g article is dumb. Can’t men appreciate children just like women? “Now you go to your, Mama. At mauuna na akong umuwi.”
“Because you’ll feed Medea?” the child with her big doe eyes ask him and he is really stopping himself to kiss him.
“Correct. Yes, because I’ll feed my princess, Roxxan.”
“Okay po, Tito Gov! See you!
“Sir. Pasensya na kayo kay, Roxx—”
“Abby, I already told you. It is okay. She’s so cute to resist. And anyway kaya nga tayo naglagay ng Kiddie Room dito sa Capitol dahil sa mga magulang na nagtatrabaho rito so that makampante sila na safe ang mga bata nila habang nasa trabaho. Now you can go home na dahil mauuna na ko, bye!”
“Thank you po talaga, Gov.”
The Governor just nod at nilingon na ang kaibigan bilang hudyat na tuluyan na siyang lalabas para makauwi na.
Children.
A son or a daughter.
It doesn’t matter.
He wants to carry his own blood with his own arms.
