"Let's meet at the park now. We just need to talk for a bit."

SAMANTHA
"A Cinderella Story? What the heck? Why is that so cheesy—ow, Sammy! Is it wrong to tell the truth—Ouch! Fine, I’ll be quiet now!" Mich kept whining, while I slapped her arm.
Why is my best friend so straightforward?
"Hey, b***h, watch your mouth," Diane suddenly said, eavesdropping on us.
Geez, here comes Diane. Her behavior is a bit all over the place. Sometimes she's nice, but often she's moody. Her thoughts are unpredictable.
Mich and Diane can't be together. It might turn into World War III.
"Who are you calling a b***h, as if you're any different?" Mich retorted, laughing out loud.
"And what’s this 'watch your mouth'? How can I watch my mouth if my mouth is down here and my eyes are up there? Are you stupid?" Mich continued, not intending to hold back.
I almost laughed at Mich’s remark, but thankfully, I held it in.
Diane looked like she was about to yank Mich’s hair, but luckily, Chester stopped her.
"Enough, Diane," Chester stopped her. "Why are you so violent?"
"No, Ches. This girl needs a lesson!" Diane shouted, pointing at Mich.
Mich raised an eyebrow at her, so I discreetly pinched her. Diane was clearly getting emotional about this. I know how to appreciate someone’s feelings, at least.
"Ouch," she whispered, glaring at me.
"You don't know how important that title is to Ches, so just shut up!" Diane yelled at Mich.
At that, Mich’s expression suddenly changed. She looked guilty. I knew it. That’s why Diane was so angry when Mich said her title was ugly.
"Why?" Mich asked.
Chester’s expression turned sad.
I suddenly felt a pang of sadness in my heart.
"Cinderella..." he said softly.
"Cinderella was my favorite show when the woman I love still remembered everything..." he added.
"I'm leaving. Let’s continue this next week," he said as he walked away.
I felt sad as I watched him go. And as he walked off, I suddenly remembered something.
Cinderella was my favorite too.
It didn’t take long before Diane dismissed us. I smiled as I watched Mich walking back and forth in front of me.
We were heading home now. Our meeting had ended, and we were currently waiting for my older brother, who had said earlier he would give me a ride.
"That guy’s taking forever. I still have things to do," I heard Mich muttering.
"Mich, just leave me here. I’ll wait for my brother," I said, but she just shook her head.
"No way! You always need someone with you!" she insisted and sat next to me.
We sat quietly waiting for my slowpoke brother. Then suddenly, I heard a whistle in front of us.
"Colline, come on," my brother called out as he lowered the car’s windshield.
Mich immediately stood up and said her goodbye to me.
"Oh, Sammy. Your i***t brother’s here, so I’m leaving. Bye," she said, but as she was about to leave, someone grabbed her arm.
It was my brother. He actually got out of the car just to stop my best friend. Wow, big move.
"What now?" Mich asked irritably.
"It’s you," my brother replied, grinning.
"Jerk! i***t!" Mich said, clearly losing her patience.
"What did you say? I love you?" my brother laughed, which made me chuckle as I shook my head at them.
I knew it—there’s something going on between these two.
Honestly, I’d prefer Mich for my brother over ate Rica. Truly, but I don’t want to interfere with my brother’s life. He’s older than me, so I know he knows what he’s doing.
I got in the backseat of my brother's car and just watched them bicker.
I almost burst out laughing when I saw my brother lift Mich like a sack. The way Mich was just hanging there, with only my brother’s back visible and him holding her. That’s exactly how they looked right now.
"What the hell, Kristoff! Let me go!" I heard Mich scream as she hit my brother’s back.
"I won’t, Miasse. Every time I let you go, you run off," my brother replied seriously.
I couldn’t help laughing even more at the sight of them. They looked like a couple having a fight.
My brother opened the door and tossed Mich into the passenger seat. He quickly jumped into the driver’s seat after that.
I repeat. TOSSED. Mich almost hit her head on the window. I’m sure you can guess Mich’s reaction, right?
"Argh! Kristoff De Jesus! You’re a jerk!" Mich screamed, kicking my brother’s car door.
My brother just shook his head and started the car. He locked the doors so Mich couldn’t get out. Smart move, even though he’s crazy!
"I hate you! I hate you! I HATE YOU, KRISTOFF!" Mich yelled, still kicking the car door.
Doesn’t she run out of energy? I sighed, but I also kind of felt sorry for my brother's car.
I felt bad for my brother’s car. Pft.
"I love you too," my brother replied, winking at Mich.
I almost burst out laughing because of how red Mich’s face got from anger.
But my focus shifted when my phone rang. When I checked, I saw it was an unregistered number.
Who could this be?
"Hello? Who’s this?" I asked the caller.
I heard the caller sigh before answering.
"Let’s meet at the park now. We just need to talk for a bit."
Hmm, wait a minute. That voice sounds familiar. Where have I heard it before?
Wait...
"Who are you again?" I asked.
My brother glanced at me through the rearview mirror. He raised an eyebrow, wondering who was calling me. I raised an eyebrow at him and gave him a glare. Mich laughed, so my brother’s attention shifted to her.
That’s why I’m asking the caller, because I have no idea who they are.
"Tss," my brother shot me a look before turning his attention back to the road.
Meanwhile, Mich still looked grumpy and hard to read. What’s really going on between those two? I’m curious, but I can’t ask them.
"Slade," the caller answered briefly, then hung up.
"What the fudge?" was all I could say before putting my phone back in my pocket.
What could we need to talk about? Is it important?
Should I go?
Hmm...
"Bro, drop me off at the park. Hurry," I ordered my brother.
I’m going. Maybe he’s heartbroken and just needs someone to talk to.
"Why?" my brother asked curiously.
He’s such a gossip.
"My friend is there. She’s going to take me to the mall," I answered, bored.
"Who’s the friend?" he asked again.
"Icia."
"A girl?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Okay. Just don’t be out too late or you’ll be in trouble," he threatened.
"Psh. Fine," I said, rolling my eyes. He really treats me like a kid!
Okay, I lied. I said Icia would be with me when it’s really Slade I’m meeting. My brother wouldn’t let me go if I told him I was meeting a guy. I think he wants my life to revolve only around girls.
"I’m coming with you, Sammy!" Mich suddenly said, smiling.
"Sure," I replied absently, thinking it through.
Well, bringing Mich is a good idea so it won’t be awkward when I meet with Slade. Mich talks a lot and has love life experience, so she’s great with advice.
My brother drove, and before long, he stopped the car at the park.
"Get out, Colline," my brother ordered.
Wow, it’s not even subtle that he wants me gone.
I quickly got out and waited for Mich to follow me.
But she didn’t get out because my brother sped off.
"Hey! You jerk, Kristoff!" I heard Mich shout before they drove off.
Tss. My brother’s such a crazy guy! Why won’t he break up with ate Rica if he really wants Mich?
"Why the long face, Samantha?" a familiar voice said.
I turned around, and my eyes widened when I saw who it was.
