Chapter 19: Protect Her

Dane's POV

I dialed his number.

"Oh Troy?" He said with so much cockiness in his voice.

Stupid asshole.

"There's something I want to discuss... in person."

Umupo ako sa sofa at hinintay ang sagot niya. I know this would be hard, pero kailangan ko gawin. He can't let me go that easily, and he won't.

"I'll come to you." He said and ended the call.

I'm currently at my condo. All my plans changed when Cleo left the company. I thought she would stay at hindi ko inaakala na babalik siya sa banda niya.

I don't have a family. Hindi ko sila pamilya. All of them are against the Belvoirs. They want me to join forces with them since I have a strong connection with the Belvoirs especially the royalties.

I know this sounds crazy because Sam's kind. Totoo na mabait si Sam, but he's being forced to do something he doesn't want to because of her brother. Si Lawrence? He's always an asshole. He isn't kind at all. I don't know why he hates belvoir that much.

I stood up when my main door opened.

"Daryl..."

Yes. Si Daryl.  He's the mastermind of whatever's happening today. He's Cleo's highschool crush, of course we met each other in the past. Cleo didn't know anything about him dahil umalis din ito nung panahong umalis kami sa mortal world.

"So... What's so important that you called me?" Kalmado niyang sabi at umupo sa sofa na pinanggalingan ko.

"I want this to end." I said.

He laughed like a crazy person and stood up. Unti unti siyang lumapit sa'kin. I'm not scared of him. Why would I? They want me because I'm strong and I'm close to the royal blood of Belvoir. Hindi ko lang magawang umalis kaagad dahil balak nila saktan sila si Cleo.

I don't want to put Cleo's life in danger. I wouldn't even try to risk it. Kahit malakas ako, I'm afraid I can't protect her with so many people eyeing to kill her.

"There are rules, Troy. And you agreed to it. Do you want to die? Do you want Cleo to die?" Tawa niya.

He's a prince from Ferishia. He's powerful at hindi basta basta matatalo, plus he have many connections to other kingdoms.

"You can kill me, but I know you can't kill Cleo." I said.

Tumawa ulit siya at hinawakan ang kwelyo ko. I let him pull me up, go ahead, be angry.

"I can kill Cleo... anytime... anywhere." Madiin at naiinis niyang sabi.

"Really? As far as I know you took me because you can't accept the fact that we're getting married." I smirked.

He likes Cleo, Kaya ako ang kinuha niya instead her. Their original plan is to take Cleo, but because he loves her napapayag niya ang kasamahan na ako nalang ang kuhanin. Which I'm thankful for.

Ayos lang na ako ang mahirapan. Ayos lang na ako ang mawala, wag lang si Cleo.

"That was before!" Galit niyang sabi at binitawan ako.

Nahulog ako at napahiga sa sahig. Doesn't hurt at all.

"How about you luring her at the counter to spend the time together? I  can see your smiles, Daryl. You can't fool anyone here."

I stood up. He can't kill me, pag pinatay niya ako si Cleo naman ang itatarget nila.

"So what then? What will you do, Troy? Hindi ba ilang beses mo na din siya sinaktan?" He said.

Yes, I did it once and it was a very big mistake before, but because of them I was forced to hurt her again! 

"Nasaktan ko siya dahil sainyo! Kung hindi mo ginawa 'to edi  sana masaya na kami ni Cleo ngayon."

Tumawa ito at tumango tango like he can't believe what I'm saying.

"I don't care anymore. I'll stay with her and protect her. If you really love her, you would like to see her happy."

Nawala ang galit sa mukha niya. He really loves her, too bad I love her more than anyone and I won't let him have her, ever.

"You know my dad Troy, you know him." He said.

Tinignan niya ako at nag lakad papalabas ng pinto.

I don't know... what to do anymore. I promised Cleo to tell her everything, pero hindi ko pa din kayang sabihin. Lalo lang siya mag aalala. 

Cleo's POV

"Maraming nag hanap sa'yo kagabi! Bakit ka ba biglang umalis?"

Tahimik lang akong naka upo sa sofa, I crossed my arms and stared at him boredly. Kanina niya pa ako sinesermonan, which is reasonable.

"Wag mo na uulitin 'yon. Buti nalang at tapos na kayo mag perform bago ka umalis. Bawi tayo sa next event." He said.

He look so stressed pero he took the problem calmly. I felt a bit guilty pero nangyari na eh. 

I took my phone and trending ang banda namin, twitter, f*******:, i********: and many more. Bawat scroll ko nakikita ko ang mukha ko o di kaya mukha nila Zeus.

I opened my inbox and may chat pala si Dane at 15 minutes ago na 'yon.

Dane:

Pupunta ako diyan.

Ako:

Ikaw bahala.

Pag reply ko hindi na siya sumagot.  Baka nag drive punta dito.

"Oh? Troy!"

Lumingon ako dahil sa malakas na tawag ni John sa pangalan ni Dane. Right! I decided to call him Dane again. Pag may nagtanong sasabihin ko nalang na yun lang tawag ko sa kanya.

 Nagtama ang tingin namin, Binati niya ang mga kabanda ko. He's carrying five big pizza box. Binalik niya ang tingin sa'kin at unti-unting lumapit. He smiled.

He looks sad. I can see it. Bakit kaya?

Inabot niya sa'kin ang maliit na box.

"Thank you," I said and smiled.

Binuksan ko ang box dahil gutom na din ako. Pagpasok ko kasi sermon agad ang bungad sa'kin. 

"Are you tired?" He asked while watching me, eating the pizza he bought.

"A bit. Gusto mo?" I said and offered him a slice of pizza.

Tumanggi siya. Something's really wrong with him. Gusto ko itanong sa kanya pero nahihiya ako.

"Oh right, saglit lang pala ako dito. I know you don't want me here either so." He said and stood up.

What? Who told him I don't want him here? 

"Uh... you can stay if you want." I said without looking at him, but I can see the smile in his face. 

"Okay then I'll stay for a bit." He smiled and I smiled too. 

Umupo siya ulit sa tabi ko. I can see how bothered he is. 

"Are you fine?" I asked him.

"Oo naman. How can I not be fine when I'm already with you?" He chuckled.

Something's really wrong with him. Ayaw ko naman siya pilitin because I agreed on trusting him untill he tells me everything. 

Tinigna ko ang phone ko na kanina pa nagriring.

Sam calling...

"Hello?" I answered.

"Meet me, sa baba ng building kung saan ka ngayon."

Hindi pa ako nagsasalita pero binaba niya na ang tawag. What happened? Bakit kaya kailangan niya akong makita? He's kinda rude also.

"Guys saglit lang ako, may pupuntahan lang sa baba." I said since they're kinda busy playing video games.

"Samahan kita?"Tanong ni Dane.

"Wag na. Saglit lang ako."

Tumayo ako pero tumayo din siya. I can't convince him to stay here, ako ang pinunta niya dito eh.

"Stay far from me. You can watch but don't interupt, okay?" Tumango naman siya. 

Bumaba na ako at bumungad sa'kin si Sam na nakaupo sa lobby ng building. Nakatingin na kaagad siya sa'kin pag labas ko ng elevator. Lumingon ako at hindi ko na nakita si Dane. 

I can still feel his presence, I just don't know where he hid. 

"Bakit mo ako tinawag? What happened?" I asked.

"Let's talk about it later, sa cafe tayo diyan lang sa harap."

Sinundan ko siya papunta sa café na sinasabi niya. 

"May boyfriend pala si Miss Cleo?"

Bulong ng isang babae, oh right. My face is all over the internet now. Porket may kasamang lalaki boyfriend na kaagad? Hay toxic filipino nga naman.

Naka cap at sunglass naman ako.  I have fans and hindi ko man alam kung madami sila pero kailangan ko maging alerto.

"So whata are we going to talk about?"Tanong ko.

"It's about Troy." He said.
