Six

I SLOWLY opened my eyes and was welcomed by a black ceiling. Dahan dahan akong bumangon at napahawak sa ulo kong medyo kumikirot sa sakit.

"Argh! Where the hell am I?" 

Napatingin ako sa paligid ng tuluyan na akong mapabangon. I am wearing a hospital gown but I werent in the hospital. This place doesnt look like hospitals. But the hospital gown and the IV on my wrist, not just that there are various machines inside the room! Where am I?

Dahan dahan akong naglakad papunta sa pinto matapos kong tanggalin ang IV sa palaPulsuhan ko nang bigla nalang bumukas ang pinto na nasa loob ng kwarto, must be the toilet.

"A-amelie!" Sigaw nito na parang gulat na gulat na makita ako. Is he not supposed to see me?

"Gising ka na?! Oh Thanks God. f**k! You're awake!"

"Well, yeah? Obviously! Thats why I'm standing straight here. And what was these all about?"

I said at humarap sa kanya nang bigla niya akong sinugod ng yakap.

This embrace feels weird. Its like an embrace of longing and missing, and why would this man right here miss me? Were always together! He's really weird.

"I'm sorry hindi agad ako nakadating, I should have come faster to rescue you" maluha luhang sabi niya nang humiwalay siya sa yakap.

"What the hell are you talking about? And where are we? Why am I here?"

Tulala at gulat ang magkahalong expression ang makikita sa mukha ni Hiro.

Hiro is really weird today, he's not like this yesterday when he promised to treat me a drink but he didnt show up.

"W-what the h-hell?"

"Dont what the hell me Hiro, mas matanda ka sakin pero sasapakin na talaga kita, asan ba tayo? Youre supposed to treat me to a bar pero inindyan mo ako, tsaka paano ako nakaauwi at bakit naka hospital gown ako? What's with these machines and, oh Gosh---"

"Doc! Doc! Doctorrrr~~~ doctorrrrr~~~~"

Hindi pa ako natatapos magsalita ng biglang tumakbo palabas si Hiro habang nagsusumigaw ng Doc. Weird!

I was about to follow him when he arrived with a doctor, well an ex-boyfriend of him wearing a doctors coat and a stethoscope.

"Chad? What the hell are you doing here? Are'nt you supposed to be in Spain managing your business and making it more prosperous? Guys! Tell me! What the f**k is going on?!"

I was being hysterical but the two are just staring at me like I am a joke. They were just looking at me. If I didnt know that they were in a relationship, I would  have think that these two are in love with me! There looks seemsllike they cant believe seeing a person like me, ganoon na ba talaga ako ka ganda?

"I told you! She lost almost a year memory! She didnt even remember this house na binili ko para saming dalawa, She knows about this house for like seven months ago before the accident. And she told me about her last memory was me inviting her on a drink and that I didnt show up because something happened! That was exactly years ago before the incident Chad! Chad, please do something! Do something!"

Hiro hissed to Chad. Worry and sorry were visible on his eyes. Parang siya pa yung naguguluhan kesa sa akin na naweweirdan na sa kanilang dalawa.

"Hey, Hiro could you please tell me what's going on? Its starting to freak me out, you're just blabbering there and I cant really understand you. You know, I'm trying to be calm but what you just said is really mind blowing. Tell me what's going on?"

With what I said, Hiro immediately hugged me so tight.

"I'm sorry, Im so sorry, its my fault. If only I come earlier I should have saved you, Im sorry. If only I didnt give you the job, I should have stopped you I'm sorry, sooo sorry, please forgive me"

"Okay, whats going on? Tell me!"

"Listen to me. You may not believe this but, you've been in coma for almost 1 year, its been eleven months and one week, you were in a bombing accident with a client and now you are losing almost a year of your memory. That day that I didnt show up on the bar, that happened 2 years ago, mag tethree years na"

And I was just listening to Hiro. And was really shocked.

What the heck?!

 "What the hell? I mean? I totally remeber that I survive that bombing incident with Clever. Kaya nga naalala nya ang lahat diba kasi nakita niya ang tattoo ko? And then he started courting me as if I'd fall for him and three months after that you said you will treat me  to a bar but you didnt come!" I said in whisper. And then my eyes shifted to Chad.

"And him? How did you become a doctor? You're a businessman right? And you two already broke up! Wag mong sabihin na sa dalawang taon na yun eh naging doctor ka na"

"Its so hard to explain, but yes. I am a doctor. Yes, you survived with that incident with Mr. Wayys but after a year ay nasangkot ka ulit sa bombing. Dont worry I'll do everything to help you gain your memory back"

"Okay? Thanks? Maybe?"

"Dont worry he is a good doctor" nagpalipat lipat ang tingin ko sa kanilang dalawa.

"Were together again" Chad said proudly.

Samantalang si Hiro naman ay namumula at sinipa palabas si Chad na tawa lang naman ng tawa.

"Hey, wait. Babe! I need to run some test on Amélie to know what the problem is" and thats when realization hit Hiro.

"Oh, okay then I'll just get some food. I'll be out" sabi nito at dere-deretsong lumabas ng pinto.

"Oww, my brother is shy"

"Yeah, and he's really worried of you"

"I know"

"And Im glad that you're awake now"

"Im glad too, thank you. Pero bakit parang masayang masaya ka naman ata? Parang mas masaya ka pa kay Hiro na siya yung kinakapatid ko eh" biro ko sa kanya na binuntunan ko naman ng mahinang tawa.

And then he smiled. A genuine and a dreamy one. Ahh, this man is in love.

"You have missed a lot while youre in a coma" he said and sighed.

"I did propose to him but he refused and tell me that he wont get engaged without you by his side and without you to celebrate together"

"He's so sweet, always the thoughtful one. But I'm sorry though"

"No its okay. Ngayong gising ka na maybe I can propose to him again. I really love him and I dont want to live my life without him again. Tsaka Alam mo naman yun na ikaw nalang ang tinuturing na pamilya so he want you to be part of his life. Every failures and success and of course in celebration, he wants you to be part of it, because you are his sister."

"Yeah, same to me. He is also my only family and I want him to be part of my life and I want every best things for him so I'll help you. I want my brother to be happy and you can make him happy. I want you for him. Babawi ako at tutulungan kitang magpropose sa kanya, it's the only way I can make my only family completely happy. I hate to say this but you are his missing piece, without you, he is incomplete. So I would like you to marry him and make him feel complete everyday. Ikaw ang manok ko hahaha"

"Thank you! That would be a big help" anito at niyakap ako.

"So, lets get you checked, shall we? he's really worried" he said at tumango na lang ako.

He performed a lot of tests to me including a whole body scan. He also got a sample of my blood and urine. I cant believe that I have memory loss and he is also checking my internal body saying that he is just making sure nothing is wrong with me in and out. And we just finished after almost an hour.

"Done" Chad said.

"Thank you, medyo nakakapagod pala mag patests"

"Its nothing"

"So, you can eat now" sabi ni Hiro at lumapit ito sa akin at nilagay ang tray na may lamang pagkain. Well, kung matatawag nga itong pagkain para sa isang magandang dilag na labis na nagugutom, char.

"Hirooo"

"What?"

"Seriously? You know for a fact that I eat a lot and I dont like burrito. Why did you put it here? And seriously? Just steak, burrito and pizza for breakfast. Hiro, I just woke up from coma and I am soooo hungry" I said to Hiro trying to look cute but he just sigh.

"Amélie, you just woke up from coma so you cant eat a lot for now. Maybe after three days because your body is responding well to the medication, baka pag nasobrahan ka ng kain mag malfunction ang iba mong organs dahil nabigla."

"After thee days? Baka yun pa ang dahilan kung bakit ako macoma ulit,  I cant eat burrito for three days" I said with a pout.

"Well you can have an omelete and oatmeal---"

"Oh, no, no, no, no, not Oatmeal. I better eat burrito everyday than oatmeal. Hiro, I hate oatmeal!" Parang batang nagmamaktol na sabi ko.

"Im sorry Amélie, you need more fiber to gain your energy back. Please do it for me" Sabi ni Hiro sa malumanay na boses and I cant do anything, not even saying a single 'no' because he is using his soft voice again.

"Okay, okay basta merong steak at pizza palagi"

"No, just pizza. Matagal matunaw ang karne so just pizza."

Napanguso ako sa sinabi niya.

"And for the drink, just water and banana smothie and other fruit okay? You need to build a better stamina. That means no cola or acidic drinks"

"Okay, That will do, thank you"

"Please eat Amélie, dont make me worry"

"I'm sorry"

"Hey its okay Im sorry too. I promise I'll let you eat whatever you want after three days"

"Okay! That's a promise?"

"I promise, O sige na kain na baka lumamig ang pagkain"

"Thank you for taking care of me"

"Of course, its what brothers and sisters do Amélie, we will take good care of each other, okay?"

I just smiled to Hiro and started eating.

Burrito is not that bad. I can last three days with it. Just not oatmeal please?

After I eat ay natapos na din si Chad sa results ng tests na ginawa nya sa akin. And I feel like that was the longest meal that I had. Almost one hour and thirty minutes! Samantalang kaya ko namang umubos ng maraming pagkain in just thirty minutes.

"Your body is perfectly fine but your head is damage, malakas ang impact ng pagsabog sa iyo. Sa tantsa ko ay siguro nakatayo ka habang may sumasabog kaya medyo naalog ang utak mo at nagkaroon ka ng memory loss, base sa damage na nandidito sa CT scan ng utak mo, there is only fifty percent of gaining your memory back" ito ang mahabang lintaya ni Chad na nag palungkot kay Hiro.

"Hey, its okay, we can make better memories okay? New memories, we'll make new memories that we cant forget, okay?" Pagpapagaan ko sa nararamdaman ni Hiro. I know he's feeling guilty of what happened to me kahit na hindi niya naman kasalanan.

"Okay"

Time flies fast. After three days Hiro cooked for me. Marami siyang niluto and all of it are my favorites!

I was so full that day until now. Everyday, Chad and Hiro would cook whatever food I like and it feels like I have a whole family. Even if we were'nt blood related, love does boud us to be a family.

Its been a week since I woke up from coma.

Hiro told me that I am in our house in Greece! Imagine the shock Im in when he told me that Hiro and I bought this house here and I am in Greece!

Greece is my dream country! And I actually have a house in Greece!

If Hiro said that I know this house seven months before the accident then it is not my first time here in Greece! And Hiro confirmed it. Dahil dun ay parang gusto ko tuloy bumalik ang memories ko.

"Are you ready?" Hiro and Chad said.

"Yeah, very" I said happily, I'm so excited to roam around Greece.

"Lets go?"

Tumango lang ako at agad na sumunod sa kanila patungo sa kotse na nakaparada sa garage ng bahay na dinasabi ni Hiro na bahay naming dalawa dito sa Greece.

Ahh, no pollution! Fresh air!

Hiro and Chad decided to take me out after a week of observation. Wala namang naging masama na nangyari sa buong week na inoobserbahan ako ng dalawa kong doctor.

Yeah, Hiro is also a doctor--- military doctor to be exact before he gets an arts and design track and decided to enter the filmography feild kaya ngayon ay malago na ang entertainment company na sinimulan niya which is disguise lang ng Agency na kinabibilangan ko at ni Hiro.

"Where do you want to go Amélie?"

 Ito agad ang tanong sa akin ni Hiro ng makapasok ako sa kotse. He is really making it up to me dahil iniisip niya na kasalanan niya ang nangyari sa akin. But I dont think so, ako ang hindi nag ingat.

"Hiro, I told you stop it! Its not your fault tsaka hindi naman sa lahat ng oras ay magkasama tayo eh, isa pa talaga at magagalit na ako sa iyo!"

Hiro sighed.

"Im sorry, I really am."

"Just dont blame yourself, okay?"

"I just could'nt help it. I'm really, really sorr--"

"One more sorry and I'll kick you!" Banta ko kay Hiro na nagpangiti sa kanya. There thats my brother.

 "Ayaw mo ba talagang umalis na sa agen---"

"Dont even say it Hiro. Ayoko nga atsaka lets enjoy this day before we gets back to the Philippines okay? Were in a vacation, we must enjoy!"

"Okay, but please aleays be safe"

"I will" 

"so where are we going?" Tanong ni Chad na siyang nagmamaneho.

"Hmm" napahawak ako sa baba ko at nag isip.

"How about Tudor hall? Were in Athens anyway, so why not visit Tudor hall? Its always been my dream to eat in that restaurant na makikita ang buong view ng Acropolis and I heard they have good food and it is said that they serve the best steak, I want to try that"

"Pagkain na naman po, kahit kakakain niya langg~~" Hiro said in a sing song voice.

"What? mas maganda kung busog tayo bago gumala para dere deretso ang gala"

"Yeah, yeah whatever, lets go"

After a couple of minutes of driving we reached the pretigious King George Hotel and then we immediately enter and had our way to the elevator at nagpahatid sa seventh floor kung saan makikita ang Tudor hall.

Pinili talaga ni Hiro ang Spot kung saan malinaw na makikita ang view ng Acropolis.

The view is so facinating! So beautiful and peaceful! 

Lumanghap ako ng hangin. 

And the air is sooo fresh.

I took a picture of the view then took a selfie and a groupfie with Hiro and Chad.

Feeling ko tuloy third wheel ako sa dalawang to. But its okay I have foods and I will be full. That's what matters.

Hindi nagtagal ay agad na dumating ang waiter at may dala itong menu.

"kaliméra kyría, kýrie edó eínai to menoú mas"

Akmang magsasalita na si Hiro nang maunahan ko siya.

"efcharistó, allá parakaló móno angliká"

"Oh sorry, okay maam, sir just call me for your order"

Sabi nito at agad yumuko ng konti bago tumalikod sa amin.

Hiro and Chad look at me.

"What?"

"What did you two just talk about?"

"He said good day and he offers the menu and I told him that we only speak english"

"Wow, how did you know to speak greek?"

"Well, Greece is my favorite country so I know a word or phrase but just a little"

"Hay nako bakit ba di na ako nagulat? You really like that greek kid you meet in the Philippines while youre in the orphanage?"

"Yeah, I cant forget about him. He's very kind and warm"

"Yeah right"

Hiro said like he is jealous. Of course he is.

"But youre the kindest and the warmest and of course the sweetest, youre my brother after all, dont be jealous na hmm?"

"Im not jealous"

"Yeah tell that to the rainbow that has a color black on it"

"Really huh?"

Chad and I said in Chouros and Hiro just snapped and stand. Nagpaalam ito agad na mag babanyo.

He's being a baby again.

While Hiro wasnt there Chad and I called the waiter to order.

Hindi nagtagal ay dumating agad ang pagkain at kasunod naman nito ay si Hiro.

"You guys already ordered?"

"Of course ang tagal mo kaya"

"Here babe, I ordered for you"

"Stop calling me babe! Im not a kid"

Napailing nalang ako sa bangayan ng dalawa. They really are cute!

"Ahh, Im so full they make the best meals"

"Really?" Hiro asked me flatly.

"But no one beats your cooking of course!"

"Yeah right"

"Hahhaha, excuse me for a bit please I'll just use the bathroom"

"Ayan kung hindi mo naman ba inubos ang mga drinks edi hindi ka mag iihi" panenermon ni Hiro sa akin but I just shrugged and have my way to the toilet.

When I got to the toilet, I immediately pee and retouch my make up. I have more places to go with Hiro and Chad today.

When I finished, I Immeditely got out of the toilet. I dont want to waste time and I want to hang out with that couple this instant. I dont care what happens for the years that my memories are lost. We'll just make new memories.

I was going out on the toilet's hallway when I bumped into something hard. I thougt its a wall but when I look at it, I was taken a back because its a very familiar handsome man in a black tuxedo. With mustache, just enough to make him look more good.

"A-Amelie?!" 

"Valleus! Valleus Goods! Oh my gosh, nice meeting you here. How's your restaurant?" I said as I hugged him.

"I'm fine, and the restaurant is also fine, still om the top. How have you been? Its been a year now. Clever is going literally insane looking for you"

"Well, I'm fine. Not really. And why would he look for me?" I asked totally confused.

"Huh? You just vanished without telling and you were--"

Nawala ang atensyon ko kay Valleus nang marinig ko ang cellphone ko na nag iingay. Its Hiro calling.

"Ahm, talk to you on some other time. Hiro and Chad were waiting for me" I said to Valleus as I get a pen and a paper on my bag and wrote my number tapis ibinigay ko ito sakanya na agad naman niyang tinaggap.
