Chapter 20: Courage
"Mukhang hindi na yata darating ang espesyal na bisita mo, anak. Why don't you go home and rest? Alas onse y medya na."
Mom went to the VIP Room, where I was supposed to meet my Professor for dinner. He's my guest, and I'm his server, gaya ng napagkasunduan namin kanina. Ngunit maghahating-gabi na ay wala pa siya. He isn't even returning my phone calls or messages. Tumawag ako kanina sa faculty at nag-inquire kung naroon pa si Professor ngunit alas siyete pa lang daw ay umalis na siya.
Did he just stand me up on our first date?
"Another thirty minutes, mom. Uuwi na po ako kapag hindi siya dumating," walang-gana kong sabi.
"Sige, ikaw na ang bahala sa kanya. I also need to sleep at the staff house, napagod ako ngayong araw. Call Robert para maihatid ka niya pauwi,"
