Erina's Curse (ENGLISH VERSION)

Chapter 4.1

"Babies, I'll go first. See you tomorrow! Sleep, you all look like zombies instead of humans".

Kesha left the room while holding her duffel bag and black shades on her other hand. It is only 6am but she needs to go early because her sister came home from Canada.

Sunday is our day off. The other three girls will go home too. They have families to visit and bond with, while me? I will sit here all day, maybe read books and then composed new songs. its okay, I’m used to it already. You know……being alone.

My father's new family live around the area but I chose not to visit them because his wife does not like me. My half-sister Lara only notices me when she needs something like new bags and shoes. She is a brat because my father spoils her even to the extent of him working his ass off. I just give her whatever she wants because when I tried to teach her a lesson by cutting her credit cards off, she begs my father for a new Gucci bag. My father worked his ass off, and he was rushed to the hospital because of fatigue. 

My mom on the other hand, lives in China because of her new Chinese husband. Uncle Loui is really kind to me though, he calls me in skype more than my own mother. He is a businessman who owns a restaurant. He met my mom two years after she found out that we are only my Dad's second family. If you think about it, my father fooled us for 11 years.  

When they separated, I lost them both. My mother started being cold to me. She is blaming me for our broken family. She found out that I have known about my father’s secrets for almost two years, but I was just scared to tell her because I did not want my family to be ruined. But hey, after all that, here I am. Alone.

My half-brother Angelo is sweet though. He is just four, but he already knows how to use a phone and he talks to me through viber. Because of him, I still have the drive to live.

"Ina, we’ll go home now," I heard Leina speak. The three of them sported a duffel bag, ready to go home. They are also wearing shades and cap to hide their identities.

"You don’t plan to get up soon, do you? Why don’t you visit your dad?” Sassy asked. 

"Stupid! For what? Her witch of a sister will just squeeze her for money and add that to the fact that her thick-faced step-mother is also there,” Raqi sarcastically said after rolling her eyes.

"I’m not going anywhere. I'll stay here and eat all your chocolates while pretending to be Rapunzel trapped in this house,” I tried to joke while still lying on the bed.

"Well, aren’t you a lucky princess? Your prince charming showed himself just yesterday! Your smile is literally so wide I can even put my phone in your mouth,” Leina threw the pillow at me with a teasing smile.

Because of what she said, I remembered what happen yesterday……...

FLASHBACK

"Annyeonghaseyo! Please to meet you all."

The girl with a round face smilingly said. She has rounded eyes with dark black orbs. Her long curly black hair was in a ponytail and she is wearing a denim tracker dress.

"Hello everyone! I'm IU and I hope we can all be friends," the girl with rounded eyes and cute nose said while waving her hands. She was wearing a yellow cropped sweatshirt and black jogger pants. 

What the f*ck? Pretty girls flock around Silas like he is a f*****g chick magnet. Making him like me would be hard. The competition is harsh! Oh well, I love a challenge, so be it.

"Thank you for the warm welcome, I know that it's short notice, but we are grateful to be working with all of you," Silas, my future husband smilingly said. Yes, future husband. I am claiming it already. Those who disagree will have a bad luck! Kidding.

I continued to stare at Silas while their manager was speaking in front. Why do you have to look like that? Once glance and I can already see my future with him! Three kids, him rubbing my foot while I carry our fourth child….... Haaaay, I tried to stifle a smile while watching his every move when our eyes met.

"Heaven...." I whispered. It took us five seconds before he averted his gaze. He made it looked like he is just looking around the room and did not even notice me. He does not remember me. I am the wet goddess in the bathroom Silas! Remember I thought to myself while I stare at him. 

"Hey, you don’t wanna stare at him too hard, don’t you? You’ll melt him with your stare, Erina,” Leina whispered. I angled my body so that other people will not see us when I pinched her waist. I cannot help but to feel butterflies. It is okay even if he did not recognize me right away. I will just make sure that after me, he would not dare find somebody else.

"Hey! Stop pinching me, it hurts you know,” Kesha whispered while covering her arm.

I think I pinched her too hard. 

"What are you whispering about?" Sassy tried to join in the conversation. She is beside Raqi while Leina is in my left beside Kesha.

"My prince charming…. I think he already likes me. He even followed me here,” I whispered to them. I was shocked when Sassy laughed! What a witch. Every single person in the conference room looked our way.

Sassy raised her hand to do a peace sign. She bowed her head after, aware of the reprimands that awaits her. I stole a glance on Silas again. He glanced my way so I sported a bright smile that no one can resist. He smiled a little like he was just forced to move his luscious lips. He then looked at the person beside him then never looked my way again. Hmp, why so cold baby? Instead of feeling down, I felt more alive. I did not even try to hide my smile and the girls were looking at me like I am a psycho or something.   

After some discussions and introductions, the meeting ended. Our manager talked to us at the side while Sassy was being scolded. While they were talking, I tried to steal a glance to my future, but I was scolded next, something about me not being focus.  Our manager finished reprimanding us then let us go home after. Kesha and the girls were the first one to go out while I walked towards the long table to get my glasses. After fixing my things, I turn around and walked towards the door. I was supposed to open the door when someone held the door handle first.

"Ladies first..." Silas.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Erina! You have been staring at nothing for a while now. Earth to Erina? Anyway, our ride’s here. Bye babe!” Raqi's voice interrupted my thoughts. I was forced to stand up to send them off. I also reminded Sassy to bring me her mother’s special r****h kimchi. It's the best kimchi ever, it’s hard to be on diet when that food is on the table.

"I’ll bring you a whole bucket because I know Raqi will eat half of it,” Sassy teasingly said which earned her a glare from Raqi.

"Hey!" Raqi pulled her hair in irritation. What a simp, she really eats a lot so Sassy was not exactly lying.

"Oh, come on, continue the banter tomorrow, we need to go now. Bye, Ina!" Leina said.

I heard the front door closed and I knew they are gone home.  

The day passed by quickly. After having oatmeal as breakfast, I took a bath and did my skin care. I just chilled in the living room while strumming my baby blue 11930 Martin OM-45 Deluxe acoustic guitar with John Mayer’s signature on it. He is one of my favorite singers. I was too engrossed in music that I needed to hear my stomach rumble to know that its already past lunch time. It is okay though; I’m used to eating late. I just had instant ramen as lunch then read a novel while relaxing. I felt sleepy so I decided to go inside the bedroom. I woke up at around 9pm then drank milk for dinner. I watched 'How to get away with Murder' in Netflix and finally, I fall asleep.
