Chapter 2

I was out of words while facing the man, whom I did not expect would catch me off guard. Horror was evident in my eyes as I watched him cross the distance between us until I was closer to his presence. Something was holding my throat as if I couldn’t breathe while watching him stand remorselessly before me. He’s a monster… I opened my mouth, driving myself to say something, when he raised his hands and slammed them on the walls behind me. I whimpered in astonishment, closing my eyes, since I could feel his breath caressing my sensitive flesh. He was too close, and I couldn’t get oxygen in my lungs properly. “You don’t have to ask how I knew about it….” he whispered, and I could feel the tip of his nose fondling my cheek, causing the hairs on my back to rise. My mind told me to push him away, but my body said otherwise. Before I could notice, he was already pinning his broad and protective chest on my delicate and fragile one. I breathed out, shutting my eyes tightly. “W-what do you want from me?” I whispered back, holding my tears. The pain and fright I felt that day resurfaced. My heart is beating helter-skelter, and I know he heard it. We’re the only ones here. “You.” It’s bizarre because I don’t know him personally. This is the second time we have seen each other, aside from the pool scene where he saw me wearing only a bikini. I have a lot of questions circulating in my mind right now. How? Why? When? But I couldn’t ask him anything. My tongue was tied inside my mouth. I gasped when I felt a finger on my chin, slightly bending it upward. I forced my eyes to shut tight when he mumbled something against my slightly parted lips. “Don’t worry too much. Your secret is safe with me….” My heart quickened and everything that happened that day haunted me once again. The pain. The guilt. The horror. Mix emotions consumed my entire being. Before I knew it, I was already screaming at him with wide-open eyes. However, the man did not falter in his spot. He glances down at me, but his eyes are cold and brutal. As if he doesn’t give a damn about what I feel. “I am begging you….” I shook his shoulders. I couldn’t see anything. It’s black and blurred. I was drowning in the depths of my own consequences when he spoke softly. “Sell your soul to me….” My hands loosened a bit from the clutches on his shirt. That’s when I realized my chest was resting against his. He could probably hear my heart pulsing deliriously. His one hand was placed on my back, balancing our position because my whole body was almost leaning towards him. I stiffened when he raised his hand, caressing the strands of my hair. I swallowed, trying to step back, when he stopped me. “Be my slave, Melanie.” I was lost for words, and my comprehension skills left my body. I parted my lips, thinking of something to say when I shut them tight again. A slave…he wants me to be his slave. “You caught my attention, Melanie. Your beauty is extraordinary. If you worry about your image….” His fingers traveled down my nose, petting it gently before making their way to my parted lips. His monstrous, fierce stare tense when his eyes locked on my coated lips. I bit the lower part and then glanced away because I couldn’t take the hostility that was building inside my system. His hands traveled down…farther and farther until they stopped above my belly. His fingers are teasing and playing on my sensitive skin there. I didn’t realize the robe I was wearing had already dropped on the ground. My brain still couldn’t load from reality when he spoke again. “You have to listen to me, okay?” I shook my head, disagreeing with the idea. “Please…let go of me. You don’t know what the hell I have been through. I just want a peaceful life. I’m exhausted and….” I whimpered when his finger lingered on my inner thighs. My knees weakened, and I lost my balance when he gently caught me. He pinned my delicate body on the wall, and when I glanced up to see his face, his eyes were glimmering with excitement. “I know that. I understand your pain. That’s why I am here for you.” I was out of words when he traced my skin with his fingers, creating a pattern. Tears are already forming in the corners of my eyes. “You have to obey me or else what you did will be known to the world….” I choked on my own sob when he let go of me, then took an inch away so he could look at me wholly. I inhaled so I could breathe properly. I have pulled so many strings just to keep these lies I didn’t intend to create in the first place. Yet, a man I had just met stepped inside my house and announced he knew everything. “You’re cruel….” I spit out, giving him a death glare. His eyes darkened. It seemed like he didn’t like that. He grabbed my arm and forced me to stand up so I could face him directly. I was out of words when he wrapped his hand around my neck in a choking manner. I can still breathe, but the way he taunts it is a warning. “I don’t like what came out of your pretty mouth.” He spat out those words with anger. I looked at the man’s eyes and saw hunger and rage. This man is dangerous. I could tell by how his energy devoured my strength. I pushed myself to fight back, but he didn’t let go of me. “I don’t even know you….” I cried, letting my tears stream down, wetting his fingers that held me. He smiled alluringly, yet, maniacally. He tilted his head to the right, giving me a taunting stare before finally introducing himself after all the torture he had given. “You can call me Myles, darling.”
