Introduction
The next story is about Chad and Nic. A young couple who are suddenly immersed into the world of fame.
Chad is an emerging rock star who is a certified chic magnet with his natural charisma, boyish good looks, hunky body, wicked guitar skills and angelic voice.
Nic is his timid, sometimes antisocial, supermodel girlfriend, who despite the lack of public communication skills, has the phenomenal charisma to sell any product she endorses like hotcakes.

Part 1
Excited screams and cheers roared in the concert hall as The Chainbreakers went on stage. The shrieks grew even louder when the band leader, Chad appeared.
He calmly walked to the center of the stage, throwing an occasional wave in each direction. He gave the hysterical fans a weak smile showing his famous dimple.
The spotlight focused on him as he stood in the middle of the stage in a plain gray shirt and slim fit jeans. Cameras flashed all around him and strobe lights danced to give life to the stage.
This was his dream... a dream he and his friends worked so hard for... their first major concert.
But the flashing lights and the echoing cheers could not drown away his sadness because somewhere along the road to reaching his dream, he lost the biggest part of him.
"Good evening. Thank you for being here." Chad said in a sullen voice.
The crowd went wild, screaming his name.
The light dimmed except for the spotlight on him and in the darkness the sorrow in his eyes showed.
The crowd hushed as if feeling his broken heart.
"This first song is one of our cover songs in the album. I chose it for Nic." He paused, the sound of her name felt like a stab to his heart.
"Babe, I'm sorry. I have done so many things to hurt you but you kept on loving me. I was stupid not to notice. I just did what I wanted without seeing how it has hurt you. You were right to leave me. That jerk, Chad, was too blinded by his dreams and has neglected you in his efforts to reach it." His voice broke and he blinked back his tears.
A unified gasp was heard from the crowd.
"I am sorry, Babe. Please believe that I am not that man anymore. Now, I have realized how wrong I was. I was stupid and weak. I was a total jerk. I don't deserve you. But..." He took a deep breath before continuing, "But if you are listening, Nic… I… I want you to know that I love you. I still love you. I will forever love you and only you…. I promise to do everything I can to be the man who deserves you." This time he did not stop the tears, he let them roll as his words flowed from his heart.
"I pray someday that we could be given the chance to start over. Maybe you will love me again... I will hold you in my arms again. Please give me a chance to love you better, Nic. I can not be without you."
The audience wiped away their tears and held their breath as Chad strummed the first few notes on his guitar.
He sighed, closed his eyes and started singing The Scientist by Coldplay in his soothing voice.
Come up to meet you,
tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Nic wiped her tears away as she listened to his message and his song.
She sat in front of the mirror with her hair set in long curls and her makeup done Her mascara started to run. John, her makeup artist, approached her.
"Nic, are you okay? Here let me wipe the smudges. Please stop crying, the shoot will start in 15 minutes." He said as he carefully cleaned up her face.
"I'm sorry, John. It's just..." She paused and started sobbing heavily. "I'm sorry... If only..."
"Hush... It's okay, Nic. Five minutes. After that no more tears. I will have to fix your makeup before the shoot starts okay?"
"Okay... Thank you..."
From the makeup chair, where she sat, her back was against the screen, she didn't see him but she heard every word he said and imagined what he looked like with his eyes speaking to her.
She didn't plan to watch the show but her style team were such big fans of the band. They paid for the pay-per-view online show to see the band's concert from the photoshoot's location.
Everyone kept quiet as they knew what she had been through with Chad. They did ask if it was okay to watch the concert with her around.
She said it was okay.
She thought it was okay.
She thought she was over him.
She thought she could just watch without being affected... But hearing his voice... Listening to his words and the song, she couldn't help the tears that took her back to the past... To when it all started...
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, take me back to the start
