"Estelle Esmeralda from the Magistracy of Pagos, daughter of Aphrodite. Nice to meet you all," the girl from the back of our classroom said respectfully in front of us.
She has short brown bob cut hair, chinky hazel eyes, and a well-rounded face. For the daughter of the goddess of beauty, she awfully looks very simple. Also, why in the name of gods did Aphrodite have a daughter from someone outside of her patron country?
"Thank you Ms. Esmeralda, next!" Ms Peregrine said as she smiled at the first student to introduce herself.
Estelle went back to her seat, and she was followed by a boy with bronze skin and muscled body. Like someone who stays outside all the time. His face is surprisingly good looking with feral features like a real set of fangs, thick spiky matte of black hair, and yellow eyes with black slits.
"I am Asher Dwight of the Viceroyalty of Auralia, son of Lytta. Nice to meet you all!" he shouted excitedly as he grinned at us and scratched the back of his head, revealing his fangs.
Our adviser raised an eyebrow at the energetic young man, "Tell me, those dogs that were seen during the examinations are yours?"
"Yes, Maam! They are the ones who helped me pass the examinations!" he answered immediately while smiling again, baring his fangs.
Of course, Lytta is the goddess of dogs, rabies and frenzy.
"Impressive! Next please."
An adorable girl followed Asher. She has a long thick hair and slender body, "Hi! My name is Eonia Thrones from the Cretonian Democratic Union and daughter of Hephaestus. A pleasure to meet you all!"
"You frankly don't look like a child of Hephaestus. You are so delicate and soft-looking," Ms Peregrine noticed that made Eonia nod in agreement.
"I get that often. They say I represent the less physical aspect of my father. I don't have any talents for the forge like all my siblings but I am quite good at metallurgy and metal sciences so, I guess that's that," she answered happily.
"Fair enough. Now the lady next to her will be?"
"g*****a Alchimea from the Magistracy of Pagos, daughter of Athena," she said with her head held up high.
This woman is one of the reasons why we are even here, so we returned her smile with our own.
"This is the first time in years that I see such a battle-ready child of the goddess of wisdom. Tell me, how old are you, Ms Alchimea?" our adviser asked curiously that made our close friend blush profusely.
"I'm just nine days old," she answered shyly that made us all gasp in surprise.
"Just nine days old and already kicking butts. Like mother, like daughter," the teacher said thoroughly impressed, "Tell that boy sitting beside you to stop what he is doing because if not, we will all explode before the end of your first homeroom class and have him come here in front."
We all looked behind and saw a rather curious-looking tinkering and banging the fuse box near his seat without a care in the world.
He only stopped when Gala tapped his shoulder.
His face turned, and it showed his face that looks very clueless paired with that literally idiotic smile of his that made him surprisingly cute and very approachable looking that made his seatmate and our adviser sigh and shook their heads in disbelief as he stood up and ran in front of the classroom.
"Syden Fayron, from the Republic of Anoixi, son of Koalemos," he introduced comically before waving like a beauty pageant king.
He is not doing this to annoy us. It's just his nature. I suddenly remembered him. He is the one who is asked by our second proctor if we were his siblings from Koalemos when we tried to get through that blasted door.
Koalemos is the god of stupidity.
"Tell me Mr. Fayron, how did you pass the tests?" our adviser asked seriously that made him blush a little.
"Well, most people think I am stupid which I don't deny. However, they do not know that I can use that to my advantage," he said confidently that made Ms Peregrine smile in respect despite herself.
"Indeed. I'll take note of that, thank you. Next!"
Narcine stood up quickly and happily skipped her way in front of us before bowing and smiling cheerfully at us, "Narcine Regis from the Cretonian Democratic Union, demiurge daughter of Persephone. Hello everyone!"
"Well, I guess I can count on the firstborn of the goddess of flowers in the pep department. The girl with the shades, you're up."
"Rebie Wilkins from Scythian Emirate and demiurge daughter of Amphitrite," she just introduced herself like that without batting an eyelash after walking briskly to the front.
"How are you related to Mr Wilkins here?" Ms Peregrine asked as she is browsing her record book, "Aside from coming from the same country?"
She looked at the sheikh, but the son of the earthshaker nodded to her as if to give her permission to speak.
"We are not related by blood. However, the royal family of Scythia doesn't have a last name so for the sake of school records, my mother requested that my father lend our family name to him for the duration his stay here in Auralia."
"Thank you for that clear answer, Ms Wilkins," Ms Peregrin said as she raised an eyebrow on Taurei, "Yes, you're next. Come here and introduce yourself."
He is thin and tall, easily the tallest in this class. I think skinny is the best description of his physical feature. He has this messy curly short hair and a rather average face compared to the guys I saw in this school.
But his deep-set cyan eyes are really what set him apart from others. It has the same intensity as the children of Olympians, especially when they are angry.
"I am Taurei Pavonius from the Magistracy of Pagos," I can see it in his expression that he doesn't feel in belong here, "That is all, I don't know who the heck is my godly parent or why I am even here."
Our adviser took a deep breath and nodded at him, "You are here for a reason. I am sure in due time, all will be clear. The heir of the emirati throne is next."
"Vaski Wilkins from Sycthian Emirate and son of Poseidon. It is an honor meeting you all," the sheikh introduced himself formally before bowing.
"The honor is certainly mine, at least," Ms Peregrine answered the son of Poseidon, "How do you want to be addressed while in the classroom, Your Highness?"
"Treat me the same as you treat my classmates. Rebie and I are mere students here and I demand to be treated as such until the end of the duration of our stay here."
"Great. So Mr. Wilkins you may sit down. Next will be, the son of the king of the gods," the teacher looked at Zenith who stood up bypassing Morris and me.
"Zenith Mycenae from the Magistracy of Pagos, son of Zeus. I am grateful to meet you all," he said worthy of the son of Zeus.
"And how do you want to be treated, Your Highness?"
"No special treatments required, Ms Peregrine."
"As you wish, Zenith. Lady's first so..."
I stood up and walked a bit before facing the whole class, "I am Vivet Vivier from the Viceroyalty of Auralia, demiurge daughter of Elpis."
"An honor to meet the firstborn of the fabled goddess of hope, please, stay there until we finished the introduction of your partner."
I just nodded as my companion stood up and walked towards my direction, "Morris Mortheo of the Scythian Emirate, demiurge son of Thanatos."
"So we finally have the fearsome firstborn of the god of death surprisingly together with the spawn of the goddess of hope," our adviser said cryptically as she heaved a laboured sigh, "Oh dear, I am having second thoughts about getting out of my retirement. Well, enough about me, since the two of you are the last to introduce, I will let you two nominate our class' president and vice-president. Oh, is there a problem, Zenith and Vaski?"
The sons of the gods of the skies and seas suddenly stood up at the same time and faced Morris and me.
"Are we in trouble?" I asked my companion in my mind who is already thinking of a counterattack just in case.
"While I doubt they will try anything violent, it's best if you prepare yourself for the worst."
I reluctantly and carefully took a single step back as Morris took a step forward, eyeing the two cautiously.
Oh dear, I hope we are just overreacting...
To our surprise, Zenith took out the golden laurel crown from his coat and looked at Vaski and nodded before offering it to us.
"We just realized that during our battle, you two are not not fighting to win at all," the son of Zeus said seriously.
"Yeah, if you were really like us who are in it to kill it, we would've been blown away easily," the sheikh of Scythia agreed as he pointed at the crown, "Go on, take it. I'd rather you two have it than Zenith here."
The Pagosian demigod let out a chuckle before shoving the crown to Morris' hands, and the two returned to their seats looking rather pleased with themselves and the tense vibe in the room dissipated.
Morris looked at me before chucking the crown which I caught in surprise, "I'm not a fan of crowns. Might as well you take care of it for us. I'm sure these two will try and take it back in the future."
I looked at Zenith and Vaski who just grinned at me meaningfully before nodding as I heaved a sigh and tucking the golden laurel inside my coat.
"Well, now that we finally settled that peacefully, let us proceed to the nomination of our class president and vice-president," our adviser said calmly as she looked at the two of us, "Vivet, any picks?"
I looked at Rebie and when I was about to point the Emirati retainer, but she quickly shut me down.
"No."
Vaski laughed out loud as Morris groaned and pointed at Zenith, "How about you?"
"Nope. I will refrain from accepting any positions while in this school," the son of the king of heavens said respectfully, "I am here to learn how to lead properly. Might I suggest the daughter of Hephaestus instead?"
We looked at Eonia who was surprised by our choice but didn't speak any further as I nodded and looked at Gala, "Why not? She looked really nice and dependable. How about the daughter of Athena as her vice? I am sure the deities of civility will get along just well."
"I second the motion," Rebie said with finality, "We can never go wrong if its the god of the forge and goddess of handicrafts working together. Deities of civility at its finest."
"Hear hear!" Narcine said happily.
Taurei suddenly laughed and sneered at the boy sitting in front of him, "If it's him who will lead us then might as well sign our last will."
The son of Zeus suddenly summoned massive volumes of electricity in his body before grabbing the neck of Taurei and pumping all the volts he can to the thin boy's body.
I screamed together with the girls in my classroom aside from Rebie, who just sipped from her water bottle calmly as if there is no first-degree murder happening right beside her.
The daughter of Persephone shouted on top of her lungs and shaking the shoulder of the demiurge of Amphitrite who is still not having a care in the world.
"Do something Morris!" I asked my companion who took a step forward with the sons of Lytta, Poseidon and Koalemos who nodded at each other before tackling Zenith at the same time but they were thrown across the classroom electrocuted badly.
"I'll kill you!" the son of Zeus declared angrily as he increased the voltage he is using against Taurei who is surprisingly not being affected by the electricity coursing through his frail body, "Zeus: Suffocating Oppression!"
I heard the students from the other rooms panicked and screamed when a huge and powerful gust of wind entered the building and headed straight to our classroom's windows and engulfed the body of Taurei as if trying to pump him with air to kill him.
"Ms Peregrine!" I looked at our adviser who just rolled her eyes and shook her head, "Please help him!"
"No need to panic, Ms Vivier," she answered me calmly and smiled sadly at the two, "Mr Pavonious will be fine. Like I said earlier, he is here for a reason. All of you are the best of your parents can produce and the same goes for him. Look, it seems to me that Mr Mycenae is finally out of fumes."
True enough, the lights stopped flickering as the winds slowly died down while Estelle, Gala and Eonia helped Vaski, Morris, Asher and Syden to get back on their feet.
Zenith coughed blood as he let go of Taurei.
Our adviser got up from her seat finally and nodded at the son of Zeus, "I hope you have your fill, Mr Mycenae. You too, Mr Pavonious. I have indulged your petty argument so please, no more or you will be in trouble. Got it?"
Zenith didn't answer as he gets back on his seat, looking exhausted and worse for the wear.
"Oh my gods, Taurei! Are you fine?!" Narcine asked as her close friend sat again beside her and Rebie, who raised an eyebrow at him as if she is thoroughly impressed.
"I am. However, my brand new uniform is not," he answered quietly as he looked at burning ends of his clothes before looking at our adviser, "Can you just tell us why the hell are we in this Auxiliary Class that is obviously used only if some kind of emergency happened? I heard several teachers talking about it in the stadium earlier."
Ms Peregrin sighed and massaged her temple calmly, "Note to myself, report my gossiping workmates later to our educational supervisor. But let me start first by pointing out your defining characteristics on why you are different from the other demigods."
"Ms Esmeralda is the first-ever child of Aphrodite who is from the magistracy when her patron country is the emirate. Mr Dwight is the first child of Lytta who managed to pass the entrance examinations of the citadel in recent history. Ms Alchimea is the only battle-ready child of Athena amongst her current siblings. Ms Thrones is the only child of Hephaestus whose mastery is different from her brothers and sisters. Mr Villiers is the only child of Koalemos who even dared to enter much less pass since the inception of this school. Ms Regis and Ms Wilkins here are demiurges of Amphitrite and Persephone. Mr Wilkins and Mr Mycenae are the children of Zeus and Poseidon who are surprisingly born on the same generation which is a first. I don't think I have to explain why Mr Mortheo and Ms Vivier is here..."
Taurei raised an eyebrow as he didn't hear his name, "What am I, chopped liver?"
"The electricity that was brought to bear earlier to you by Mr Mycenae's is easily almost a fourth of the entire electrical capacity of Auralia. Not to mention that you should've been dead by now by suffocation. But here you are still being annoying and very much alive. I dare anyone here in this classroom to raise their hands if they are confident that they will live if they are subjected to the same assault by the son of the god of heavens?"
Nobody in our classroom raised our hands because no one will ever live under normal circumstances.
Morris laughed and shook his head, "I almost died back then. If not for my father's grace and my fleeting awakening, I would've met him quickly. I can somehow weaken inside my body the earthen spear of Vaski but I have to focus all my effort defending myself from the electricity of Zenith. I really thought I was a goner."
"I have to reinforce my mother's shield with my own flames just to defend myself," I followed as Vaski grinned at me.
"Truly she is afraid of Zenith. So much that she focus only on defending herself against him, leaving her wide open from my own assault."
The son of Poseidon chuckled as I shook my head and touched my heart as I try to calm myself when I remembered the moment when I was so sure I'm finished before I even delivered the parcel.
"Anyways, that's it, our class president and vice-president is Eonia Thrones and g*****a Alchimea respectively," Ms Peregrine said as she called over the two girls to the front of the classroom, "Any words for your new classmates?"
The daughter of Hephaestus smiled purely, that made me feel calm and content.
She is just nice, I just know it.
"I still don't know why I am nominated but if given chance, then I will humbly accept as long as Lady Athena's daughter will assist me in this endeavor."
Gala smiled and nodded at our class president, "Leave the heavy lifting to me. You focus on the leading stuff."
"Well, now that it is settled, I guess that's it for our first homeroom," our adviser said with finality as she stood up and grabbed her bag, "Please be guided accordingly and follow the lead of Eonia and g*****a. They will fill you in on the details of your board and lodging."
We stand up and bid our goodbyes before she quickly gets out of our classroom, leaving Gala and the daughter of Hephaestus to lead our class.
"Okay everyone, I know most of us just meet each other today but we should really stick together once we get out of this room for security. Our class is kind of notorious after what happened just now, I'm sure," Eonia said as she looked at the daughter of Athena who nodded and clapped her hands once.
"Too true! Now, let's get going and we will explain everything when we are walking back to Elysian together. Chop chop!"
"Wow, I've got a feeling that this will be one heck of a school year, Vivet," Morris thought that made me smile.
"Indeed, Morris. Let's just get this day over with, okay?" I answered happily as he grabbed my arm excitedly.
I just noticed that my classmates became quiet, and when I looked around, they are all staring at us curiously.
Oh, joy...
