Deniah closed her eyes and fought a bone-weary despair. Nakaupo siya sa loob ng kanyang yellow Volkwagen at tumutugtog ang David Kersh sa kanyang stereo. Bakante na ang parking lot ng banko five minutes ago, then turned into hour and continued ticking pero hindi parin siya umaalis. She stared out her windshield and tried to fight off the bitter taste of failure and disappointment that ate at her gut like acid. No loan. Again. Yes, her bookstore was doing well and she'd just turned a profit. But the bank was not thrilled with the idea of pouring more money into her business, when she barely broke even now, and had no collateral and no savings and nothing to back her up.
