After the lovely dinner we share with his family, Tanner and I stay at the second floor’s balcony. We are cocooned under a warm blanket while sitting on their outdoor hammock. Tanner’s arm is wrapped around my shoulder and I lay my head on his chest. I loud beating of his heart is a calming symphony to my ears.
“I miss your lovely scent. Reminds me of a calming wave in the middle of summer day.” Tanner caresses my shoulder and kisses my hair. I smile to myself and draw myself closer to him.
“Hmm. I miss you too,” I admit with full honesty and hug him. I wish we can stay like this forever but adulting life have something bigger for us. We really need to focus our attention to our studies especially now that we are nearing the finish line. Wala sa sariling napabuntong-hininga ako.
