Prologue

She was standing near the lotus pond and basking in the colored moonlight, like a goddess of the night. The wind blew gently, making her long black hair fly in the air.
His heart fluttered at the sight of her melancholic face, reflected on the water.
"It's almost winter again. I wonder what tragedy will befall me this time? I always thought that, it would be better for me if I didn't exit at all and maybe things wouldn't end like this...don't you think Ivantie?" She said and looked at him with a sad smile on her face.
He felt a sudden pain in his heart. He knew why she keeps on saying those words to him.
"Your Highness, why do you always say those words?" He said quietly to her.
"Do I?" She replied playfully.
"I am glad that fate brought you to this world and I'm happy that destiny allowed me to meet you."
Her eyes widened in surprise and he couldn't help but to stare at her. A melodic laugh escaped from her sweet mouth.
"Thank you Ivantie."
A genuine smile appeared on her red lips. It was a smile, that he's been longing to see for a long time.
