4: The Trouble with the System Part 2

August 23, it’s Saturday. Everyone, except me, is having a fun weekend. They’ll have even more fun later this night at Sharpay’s place, her minions will be hosting a party. Who cares? Me. I should be the one having a party at our house! Those scheming witches, snatching all my supporters! I heaved out a sigh before grunting loud. I need to go to school every weekend because of my punishment. Though unhappy, at least, I am saved from those displeased looks of my loyal subjects. For sure, they are gradually disappearing and changing fandoms to Sharpay’s. My blood boiled at the thought. That b***h! She was the reason why no one was at any areas in the school. She had a major proposal at the Gymnasium regarding my force-disposal against me and declared that I should be dethroned from my seat. Scheming slut! She has no right to do this to me! She's being unfair on claiming back the throne! According to the school’s system, she must achieve a high grade to be the school’s Queen. That’s Liberty University’s rule in becoming a Queen of the High School Division. I sighed as I walked towards Mr. Hennigan’s office. I was supposed to clean the walls of the school. Figured, Saturdays are the best days for fulfilling the only condition of our Principal so that I could reclaim the Valedictorian Title. But I couldn't continue doing that specific job because of what happened yesterday. I don’t even have to guess why I was called to the office. Given that this stupid Eagle Press-con’s published newspaper, it is already certain that most will change their minds about me. They will lose their trust and faith in me and most especially, my opportunity in becoming the President of the Student Council would be gone. Forever! I don’t even understand why I keep on reading Everyday’s Cheesepaper, an article about me when it's making my beautiful face wrinkled. August 22, 2020 Caitlyn Montero: Officially the Queen Rebel? This afternoon, Caitlyn Montero had been caught showering our dear, precious, Heath Evans with red and creamy white paint all over his body while students of the University were patiently waiting for their Queen to arrive at the gymnasium. However, instead of attending to her Royal Duties, she was spotted by the whole High School Division throwing an empty bucket of paint on the notorious bad boy's head. Is this the right Queen that Liberty University needs? If not, then is it about time that the students realize that no matter how bad a person is, like Sharpay(the former queen), the most important learning of being an evil human being, is being real to everyone rather than acting sweet and good just so she would be renounced as a rightful ruler of the university? Two days ago, we received an email from the Queen Bee about having a meeting inside the gymnasium. Upon anxiously-excited waiting for that day to arrive, we again received an email, a confession rather, stating that that person can prove to the whole students where Caitlyn Montero, is the Queen of Rebels, and she was the one spreading havoc inside the campus right from the very beginning. Stating that everything was all part of her delicate schemes, and being good was just an act to not be caught, nor fingers would point at her. With what we saw awhile ago, could it be, really, true that Caitlyn is trying to ruin the school's magnanimity? Watch out for more breathtaking news with the Eagle Press-Con. Flying high, The Eagle Eye I am enraged at all of them that I crumpled the colorful Newspaper. I want to scream out of frustration. Trust me, I badly want to lunge at that vagrant-scheming-witch and as well as Eagle Press-con for trampling on my dignity. How can they do this to me! I felt my phone vibrated. I took it out of my pocket and unlocked it. Talulah messaged me on Messenger, and she sent some pictures. Images that almost made me fall to the ground because of a stupid medium-sized rock. My loyal subjects are slowly fading!? I have 25 million subscribers on Youtube, now it’s only 20! And on i********:, I got 30 million followers there but then turned to 20. On Twitter, I only got 35 million instead of 40! "No, this is not true!" "Miss Montero," I looked up to the person who called me. I was about to glare when I noticed Mr. Hennigan holding out the door open. It’s funny how I safely arrived at the Faculty building. I was so focused on rereading the paper, killing Sharpay in my head, burn the Eagle Press-con building to the ground, and continually slap Heath’s obnoxious face. It's all their fault! "Come inside, I want to talk to you about something.. “ he left the door open for me to go inside. I took a deep breath, to control myself from turning my back on him and execute the plans I had in my head before I went inside his office. I should not make decisions when I'm this angry. Actions that I would take might lead me to misery and despair. I sat on the leather chair in front of Mr. Hennigan. I can feel that I might burst into tears if we start talking about what happened yesterday. The opportunity of me being the Valedictorian is slowly slipping away from my hands. "I am not going to interrogate you about yesterday—" "Why? Have I been removed from the possible candidates of being a Valedictorian? Are you going to dethrone me from my position?", I asked a series of questions that he just laughed at. My eyebrows furrowed. What’s so funny? "Kids these days," he shakes his head first. "Miss Montero, I'm done watching the CCTV footage of you and Mr. Evans'. I understand why you reacted like that to him." "If you did understand, then why did you look so disappointed when you looked at me?" He smiled. "I'm not, Miss Montero, I was looking at the vandals of those rebels. What they painted on the school wall was very disturbing. If Elementary students, and as well as parents, saw that by chance, it will tarnish our image and that of the school...” He deeply sighed. "What you did to Heath has already tainted Liberty University. You’re well aware of the fact that both of you went viral in social media, even the pictures, right?" I nodded. Right, why did I forget that irritating part? Eagle Press-con has its website and App. Because of them, the allegations that I caused their Heath misery went widespread throughout the world. Ridiculous people, they’re so judgemental! "Wait, CCTV footage? There cameras? I didn’t see any. How come we don’t know of those?" "Because it’s hidden." "Why do you need to hide it? Shouldn’t the school let students know that their every move is being watched?" "Ms. Montero, if you are going to do bad things to implicate terrible imagery when someone can see you, what would be the first reasoning that your mind could think of?", he asked coldly. "What do you mean?", I asked, confused. "Take it as if you are one of the rebels—" "However, I'm not!", he was slightly startled by my shouting, but quickly recovered. His menacing stare made me swallow hard. I can feel that I irritated him again, and if this continues, the worst possible outcome would become my nightmare. A terrible nightmare. "Listen very well, Ms. Montero, the reason why we do not inform any of the students about those cameras is because of one very good reason, and that is to secretly investigate our students' identities. This is psychology-based research. Whether they are those people whom we needed to suspend or expel from this school or not. This certifies that this raw evidence we have is facts-based when we show these to the parents, as the admins of the school explain to them why we are pulling their children out of the school," he took a deep breath and closed his eyes before he tiredly looked at me. "Now, if you keep on interrupting me from this meeting, I have no choice but to officially announce to everyone that the famous Queenbee Caitlyn is now off of the Valedictorian list and will automatically be dethroned from her royal chair. Do you want that to happen?" I felt my blood was drained as to what he said. No, he can’t do that. I mentally cursed at myself. i***t, of course, he can! Nevertheless, I need to control my machine-gun-like mouth to keep that proposed event from happening. I blinked back at the nervousness I am feeling. "Mouth is zipped..." I said. Mr. Hennigan just nodded. Still not losing that menacing stare. "The reason why I called for your attention today is that the board had a meeting this morning, and we've decided to remove your punishment." I couldn’t move for a moment, but then quickly recovered as I felt my heart beating wild and loud. Gradually, my sweet smile flashed on my lips. Still keeping my mouth shut. "However, they have decided that we should change that into. . ." He rummages in his desk as I couldn’t help but be disappointed by what he said next. ". . . helping Heath Evans from all of his studies and restraining him from tampering the school." So much for controlling my anger. "What? But why?" "We needed him to stop all of the chaos that we've been experiencing. The board is getting frustrated to the point of wanting to complain to the Evans family of their untamed son, however, we cannot do that because they are one of our most valued shareholders of this school." "Perks of being wealthy," I was only whispering to myself but it may not have escaped Mr. Hennigan’s ears because he shook his head, a sign that he agrees with me. "We can’t do anything about it, besides, I am only a Principal and I have no say about expelling Mr. Evans from this school because their family saved Liberty University from being closed down." I frowned. "What? But I thought Liberty University is already well-known right before the Evans decided to expand their markets into investing here in your school?" He leaned on his chair as his hands intertwining. "This school should’ve been long gone even before the Evans decided to step in. Do you see our old buildings that have been abandoned?", I nodded to his question. "The school was about to go bankrupt because there weren’t many students interested in LU. Yes, the school is known for being a magnanimous University, but ever since the owner had been divorced by her husband, everything went downhill." "Oh...” "Anyhow, having the Evans’ son study here in our school, the board thought that it'll make everything easier for us to commercialize and advertise. It did work, because of his looks," he laughed when he saw my nose wrinkled in displeased. "You have to believe me, Ms. Montero. It’s because of that smug look on his face the reason why Liberty University is still standing." I rolled my eyes. "I can't believe that just by using his face, students are willing to enroll without knowing what kind of system, benefits, and whatnot LU offers. Geez.” Mr. Hennigan smiled as he handed me a folder. "This is the contract you need to sign, the Evans approved of this proposition we emailed them and they are very much grateful to you for accepting to tame their bad boy." I scoffed. "Really? This is so cliche,” I jested. “Besides, why me?" "Because— oh! Wait, I've informed you wrongly— you're only helping him with his P.E. studies because that's the only subject that you can be with him. Also, you must stop him from destroying our school. There are rules you must follow before you proceed to this new punishment, it's vital to read them first before you attack their son." "Who says I'm going to attack him?" "Believe me, Ms. Montero, I can see it in your eyes." A scowl flashed on my face as I took the contract from him before heading straight for the door. I was about ready to leave his office when he spoke. "Goodbye, Ms. Caitlyn Montero." Right. I have to bid the Principal goodbye before walking out of here. "Bye!" And with that, I closed the door and head towards the parking lot. I was okay with the first punishment, but this new one? This is unbelievable. I've experienced a lot of tasks, a.k.a. extracurricular activities, even before I was a Queenbee. I really can’t believe they can do this to a student like me. I've been a very bad girl before but throwing that shady slut off the throne? It changed my whole life. And this situation I'm having right now is even worse than I thought being a Queenbee would give me. I opened the car door. As I went inside, I carelessly threw the contract and was about to start the engine when a woman wearing a black hoodie went past just in front of my car. My windows are tinted so she didn’t notice me watching her. And I couldn’t see her face because she kept her head low as she walked towards the exit door of the school. My eyes narrowed a bit. Why the hell would she be using that? That door leads to the Faculty building, must be a lazy teacher who just got back from vacation. Her Barbie flip-flops are disgusting to my eyes.
