Edward’s POV
I couldn’t stop myself from smiling as I held Mecca’s hand tightly. I could feel her warmth and even the beat of her heart, halos sabay sa t***k ng puso ko.
“Six weeks?” I asked, almost in disbelief.
“Yes… Six weeks,” she answered, her voice trembling slightly.
Parang tumigil ang mundo sa moment na ‘yon. Wala na akong narinig na ingay, wala nang problema siya lang, ang kamay niya, at ang bagong pag-asang hawak namin ngayon.
I felt the weight of responsibility, pero higit sa lahat, naramdaman ko yung joy at promise na dala ng bagong buhay na ito.
“Sweetheart…” niyakap ko siya nang mahigpit. “We’re going to have a baby again. I promise, hindi kita bibiguin. We’ll do this together. Matthew will be a great big brother, and we’ll be the best family we can be.”
