Alam ni Lucas na late siya. He was stuck at traffic for a few minutes then he had to wait for the flower-shop to modify his order dahil hindi niya nagustohan ang bulaklak na paunang ginawa ng florist. Medyo perfectionist si Lucas when it comes to things na ibibigay niya as regalo. Ganun din siya when it comes to hiring people. He only wanted the best for all of his company. May be that's why he hadn't have much luck even with finding love. 'It's because you've already found perfection but she's not to be touched.' Sagot niya sa sarili. True, matagal na niyang hinahangaan ang anak ng ama niya. He would usually find himself looking at her smiling pictures wanting her smiles to only be given to him. He's not crazy, or one of those guys na may sister complexes. He never saw her as his sister. He was already fourteen ng amponin siya ng ama, and he knows his real parents. And now that he is thirty, alam niya na hindi obsession ang nararamdaman niya para kay Britney. Bagay na nilalabanan niya until tonight.

Truth be told, hindi alam ni Lucas ang balak ni Solenn. Inosente siya sa mga schemes ng kaibigan niyang iyon. He didn't even know that Geraldine owns the gallery they rented to showcase her art exhibit. He was caught of guard when he saw those beautiful eyes looking at him with surprise when he arrived fashionably late and carrying the bouquet intended for his friend. Kung alam niya he would have brought three, for Solenn, Britney and her Mom. Para bang nagslow motion ang paligid and the only thing that mattered was the two of them looking at each other as he was on his way to give the flowers he'd bought for his friend. She looked so cute and innocent as she blushed when their eyes collided. Iba talaga ang tama niya para sa dalaga. Honestly he wanted to just stare at her, pero obviously he was there to support Solenn. Kaya naman as painful as it is to cut those few moments of bliss, he had to.

Nakatapos nang magspeech si Solenn when he reached her. "Lucas I'm so glad you've made it." Wika ng kaibigan habang tinatanggap ang bouquet na dala niya.

"Now I know why you're pestering me all week to attend this event." Pabulong niyang saad habang bumibeso sa pisngi ng kaibigan. Humagikhik ito bilang sagot. Matapos niyang makipagbeso kay Solenn at humarap naman siya sa kaibigan niyang si Nico. "And obviously you're part of it too." He said offering a hand shake to his friend. Nico just shrugged and shook his hand.

"Trust me, when you get married, you'll always say yes to your wife." Nakangising wika ni Nico sakanya. "Honestly it's scary."

Tumawa lang si Solenn sa komento ng asawa niya, "What can I say Lucas, we're tired of seeing you the only one without a permanent plus one. And really you need to get nailed at least. So that you'll stop asking my husband for some bro time." Pabirong saad ng babae. "Besides she looks poised, a very fitting trait for a wife of a CEO."

"Seriously Solenn, kung kamumunghian niya ako lalo, I'll take Nico away from you." He threatened in a good natured way, bagay na tinawanan ni Solenn.

"Trust me, he wouldn't last a day without me." Kampanteng saad ng babae. "I'll bet my peny I can snag you a date with her after the event."

"And if you don't, Nico and I will have a drinking spree tonight. Yah?" Sagot ni Lucas

"Deal." Mabilis na sabi ni Solenn.

"What? I can't believe you woman!" Saad ni Nico na pabirong nagmukhang nasaktan sa pakikipag-deal nito kay Lucas, ngunit tumungo na si Solenn kung saan si Britney nakatayo.

Nakangiting lumapit si Solenn sa babaeng sinasamba ng kaibigan nilang si Lucas. All these years she'd seen him obsessed with her. When she first dated her husband Nico, si Lucas ang isa sa mga unang kaibigan na ipinakilala nito sa kaniya di lamang sa pareho ang bansa nila, bagkos isa ito sa pinagkakatiwalaang tao ng asawa niya. Iilang beses pa lang din siya nakapunta sa bahay nito, ngunit may mga bro session ang asawa niya kasama ito at iba pa nilang mga kabarkada. Doon nga na-open ng asawa niya ang isang kwartong puno ng pictures ng dalagang doctor. She couldn't imagine the lengths of how Lucas made an effort to get her to be a resident sa hospital nito. Nirarason pa nito na he wanted the best people to be part of his company, which obviously she doubted. Kaya naman gumawa na siya ng paraan to finally meet the soon to be Mrs. Greenfield because he was always denying the fact that he is hopelessly in love with Britney.

"Hi." Pambungad niyang bati sa dalaga na halatang windang sa prisensya niya. "You're Dr. Britney Baños right?"

"Y-yes." Sagot naman ni Britney na halatang stars-trucked sa kanya.

"I am just wondering if you'd like to join us for the after party later tonight." Tanong niya. She knows how to handle people, being an artist. Tumingin siya sa katabi nitong dalaga. "You can come too, if you're over eighteen."

"Ate Brit, sama tayo!" Tili ni Herley sabay yakap nito sa braso ni Britney. "Please. Papayag naman si Ma'am Geraldine eh! Di ba Ma'am?" Hindi napansin si Solenn na lumapit na pala ang ina ni Britney sa kanila. Geraldine looks stunning.

'No wonder she's the one who got away from Tito Hubert.' Komento ni Solenn sakanyang sarili. "Can we take them with us? It's just an intimate after party."

Ngumiti ang ina ni Britney, "sure," sagot nito. "As you can see my daughter needs the social life." Pabirong sabi pa nito na ikinahagikhik naman ni Herley.

"Ma naman. Parang binebenta nyo na ako eh." Saad ng dalaga.

"Anu ka ba Britney, you need to unwind a bit. Masyado ka na subsub sa trabaho. Besides you're still on your day off tomorrow." Sagot naman ng ina. "You and Herlay can leave the gallery to me tonight."

"Uuwi nalang din kami ni Herley sa condo ko mamaya not to disturb you, if we got tipsy." Sabi ni Britney sa ina. Maalalahanin ang dalaga sa ina niya sa obserbasyon ni Solenn, bagay na ikinatuwa lalo niya. Mukhang gumagaan na ang loob niya para kay Britney hindi pa sila masyado nagkakakilala.

"Don't worry Miss Geraldine, we have our driver. Maasahan niyong ihahatid ang mga girls ninyo ng maayus after the party." Solenn assured them. "You just need to give the coordinates to our driver." Tumango lamang si Britney. "And relax hindi kita masyado lalasingin." Sabay kindat nito sa tatlo.

"Yehey!" Tuwang sigaw ni Herley.

Ngumiti si Solenn, mukhang makakatipid siya ng gastusin sa after party dahil natalo niya sa bet ang kaibigan niyang CEO.
