When the Hunter pulled her dagger out, Lorcan's eyes had already lost its light. Kitang-kita niya ang surpresa sa mukha nito na tila hindi inaasahan ang naging pag-atake ni Eve. She wasn't expecting it either.

She has killed many vampires before as a blood slayer and she never felt remorseful about them. But looking at Lorcan at that moment felt wrong. He wasn't supposed to die. She promised to help and stop it from happening at any cost.
