"My Lady and Lord, demiurges of the deities of hope and time, we are, by the grace of the mortals, Ekecheiria and Eirene, goddesses of armistice and peace respectively. We are honored to greet you in such a joyous moment..."
Kairos and I bowed lowly to the two as my very own guardian knelt in front of the goddess of her namesake and kissed her foot in reverence.
"Benevolent godmother, it is an honor to finally meet you once more..."
"Arise, Irene. If I must be frank, I am personally happy with your financial success. Truly, prosperity comes with peace, is it not, my dear?" the goddess of peace asked that made our employer nod in agreement quickly.
"It is what you say, benevolent godmother," Ms Irene said reverently before bowing at the goddess of armistice, "My lady, it has been far too long. I never expected to see you away from Olympus."
The tranquil goddess smiled and inclined her head, "Neither do I expected that you will not only announce a truce with my godson here but peace as well! Thanks to you two, you gave us the strength to materialize in physical form and we take this rare chance to quickly appear here. Isn't that right, Atomo?"
To Kairos' surprise, his guardian didn't respond but just bow his head quietly in embarrassment to his godmother who just lifted his head proudly.
"No need to be shy. You did me no wrong. I am elated that instead of hollowly offering a ceasefire, you chose to not do such a thing until you know you have it in your heart to overcome your fears and waited for the perfect time to offer me to Irene here. I am pleased,"
"Godmother..."
The goddess just shoves the two aside together unceremoniously while chuckling with Eirene and sighing before walking towards me and Kairos.
"First, let me congratulate you two on your marriage. Accidental it may be, you just avoided the painful stalling like our godchildren," the goddess of peace said as we gratefully nodded and blinked at the two, "Now, you must be asking in your mind what are the two non-violent deities are doing in the god of war's dominion all of a sudden, am I correct?"
We nodded at her as she and Ekecheiria paid their respects to Vaski and his mother.
"Well, actually we are thinking if we can use your wedding celebration as a chance to unite all the gods and goddesses together with the mortals from all Tiera. Make peace or truces with each other and stand as one against the greatest challenge yet to us all," the goddess of armistice said plainly as her companion followed quickly.
"We do know that this is your personal and solemn gathering but we just can't miss this once in an eon chance to have several deities from across the immortal and mortal hierarchy in a single occasion. If you are willing to share a bit of your reception time for us to make amends and connect the immortals and mortals once more then we will consider this as a huge favor. Of course, Ares said that he will shoulder the extra cost of additional immortal and mortal guests should you two agreed. He defers to your decision since this is, after all, your wedding day."
Morris suddenly talked in my mind nervously, "If the god of war himself is more than willing to work with the pacifist goddesses, I guess that should at least call for a concern, eh, cousin?"
"Indeed, Morris. If Ares himself is inclined to gather as many allies as he can then it can only mean one thing. This is a fight we cannot win easily without the help of other immortals and mortals. That and the god of war himself is such a good host to us. I will not say no."
"Neither will I, Vivet."
And with that, I looked at Kairos who just nodded at me as if he is going along with what I have decided.
I looked at the two waiting goddesses and bowed again respectfully before delivering my response.
"We will be deeply honored to help in any way we can to ensure a bright and prosperous future for the generations to come."
The deities of peace and armistice smiled at us sweetly as they touched our faces daintily.
"Though we are now at the footsteps of a war beyond even our very own imaginations, we do know one thing for sure. That after the darkness, there will always be dawn," Ekecheriria said as she prepared to leave with her companion who also left to us parting words.
"Be what your parents stand for. Time and hope. In this union of yours, it can only mean one thing. That the time of hope is at hand. Together we stand, divided we fall. I am sure you and your dear loved ones know first hand those words as you all faced together seemingly impossible challenges successfully. May you all find the strength and will to carry on for your son."
And with that, the two vanished in a whiff of a fresh olive scent that wafted throughout the room.
"Well, now that the ladies are done, let me personally congratulate you two," the god of messengers announced as he shook our hands excitedly, "Allow me and my children handle the delivery of your wedding invitations. It is a small thing I can do for my beloved predecessor, Iris."
Kairos and I bowed respectfully to the young and smiling god, "We will be honored, Lord Hermes."
"Excellent. Now, before I go, will your father be angry if I just literally drop the invitation somewhere in his territory at the union? Honestly speaking, I don't know exactly what his address is if he even has one. I mean, finding Elpis, the goddess of hope herself is more probable than that grumpy god of time."
My husband just laughed a little and shook his head, "I am sure he won't, Lord Hermes. I don't need to tell you specifically where is he located right now?"
"Oh, no need, Kairos. As elusive he might think he is, it is rather easy to pinpoint where the heck I'm gonna drop the goods. I mean it is an open secret of Cretonians!"
And with that, he showed himself out of the window from whence he came chuckling to himself as he whispered on who to deliver the first major mortal wedding invitation since Psyche, the goddess of soul herself married Eros, the god of love and how happy he is now that he can up his game once more after such a long time.
"Are you two sure you wanted to have virtually all of the immortals at your wedding?"
We both looked at Ms Irene who is snickering with my cousin at the table as we returned to our seats.
"It will certainly make the Immortal Parents' Day look like a petty PTA meeting compared to what will happen," the president said as Vaski looked at him incredulously.
The emira laughed and looked pleased herself, "Well, for me, it is another reason for us Scythians to deliver a truly emirati wedding for the ages. I expect you Gala to report this to Estelle. I bet she will definitely go overdrive like her mother."
Our class vice president nodded and made a note on her notebook, "I will, Your Majesty. But maybe I will also ask Zenith and Avesa for the help of Queen Hera herself. I doubt the goddess of beauty alone can handle this gathering alone by herself. We need the support of the goddess of marriage herself."
