“Mandu?” I called when I entered Jennie’s room. Seeing as she was nowhere around, I went to the kitchen and look something for the fridge.
My eyes went wide with excitement as I saw a bunch of Milkis, my favorite Korean drink, in her fridge with all flavors available. I reached for two Milkis and some chocolate bars. I’m so glad Jennie still remembers my favorite drink and that reminds me, she never buys me these.
I shrug that thought away as I made my way to the living room. I put the drinks and chocolates on the coffee table so I can set up the console. I missed playing since I haven’t got the chance to.
“I was wondering where you were.” I jumped a little at the sudden question behind me. f**k!
I turned around and saw Jennie on her silky robe that’s elegantly stopped mid-thigh, her hair still wet. My eyes followed a single drip of water making a path from her neck and disappeared in the valley of her breasts. I gulped at the sight and can feel heat rising up to my neck.
“Eyes up here.” Jennie said and snapped me from my trance. I looked up at her and smiled sheepishly, she rolled her eyes and strutted her way towards me. Her eyes went down and finally, she smiled.
“Hm, you’ve seen my surprise.” She said, I nodded vigorously and my excitement came back. She chuckled and sat on the sofa, legs over the other, her creamy white legs showing as the robe slightly raised. Her elbow leaning on the hand rest of the leathered seat to support her head. “Go on, play.” I obliged after giving her a look one last time.
I mentally cursed. Damn she’s hot!
Sitting on the floor, beneath her with my legs crossed, I reached for the controller and boot up the screen. I could smell her scent from here and it’s kinda driving me crazy. Naughty thoughts have been flooding my mind with her this close and with only a robe on and God knows what she’s wearing underneath. I cleared my throat,
“Aren’t you gonna change?” I asked, my voice husked. I mentally smack my head for being so obvious. I just hope she didn’t notice it. She chuckled,
“Am I distracting you, Lili?” She asked instead. The audacity of this woman! I shook my head immediately which only made her laugh.
Idiot, Lisa!
The familiar sound of the game started and I tried keep my focus on it and not on the Goddess behind me.
She stayed silent throughout the game which helped me to momentarily keep my cool. We spent at least thirty minutes like that before her phone rang from across her bedroom. She got up and went to check on who was calling.
Weird, she never liked talking on her phone. She despises when someone calls her, she prefers texting than that.
Sighing, I stopped playing and turned off the console. I looked at the time and reads, 8:15pm. It’s getting late, I got up and put my trash on the bin in the kitchen and went after Jennie. I was about to open the door when I heard a familiar name.
“Kai.” I froze at the mention of his name and waited for another uttered word. My heart was beating hard against my chest and this is not a pleasant feeling. I dreaded this feeling.
“I’ll be there. Right, see you then.” She said. I waited for a moment to gather up my strength before opening her door. She does not look startled and didn’t glance at my way. Instead she sat there, legs crossed with her phone on her hand. She looked like she’s typing so I quietly walk in her closet to find comfortable clothes and went inside the bathroom.
I decided to take a bath thinking it would help me from easing at least a little out of this feeling. f**k, I’m jealous. f**k, I’m losing.
Losing from what, Lisa?
I smiled bitterly. Yeah, from what? Kai is not competing against me for that matter but I feel like I’m losing Jennie.
Should I fight for my love? Do I have a chance? No. That sucks…
I took my time inside the shower, thinking. But all that thinking got me nowhere but a headache. I grunted and turned off the shower, dried myself and put on my boxer shorts and a sleeveless white shirt.
I walked outside the bathroom while drying my hair with a towel and found Jennie lying on bed with my oversized tshirt with a teddy bear printed on it. I sighed as I noticed that she’s still on her phone. I guess she’s happy talking to Kai.
“Jennie, who called?” She smiled without looking at me.
“Kai.” She said simply. I felt a pang of hurt but I ignored it and decided to just blow dry my hair so I could sleep and this would be over.
After blow drying my hair, I lay down the bed with my back on hers and closed my eyes, hoping I could sleep immediately.
The mattress moved as I felt a hand sneaking on my waste, I stiffened. I could feel her hot breath on my neck and her legs tangled with mine. Her chest pressed against my back and f**k me, I could feel her n*****s and her soft breasts. But I just laid there, not moving at all.
“Lili.” She whispers, I didn’t bother to answer. I really don’t trust my voice right now.
She tugged me to hers and I have no choice but to shift my position and face her. She was looking at me while smiling, I smiled.
“Goodnight. I love you!” She says and then kissed my nose. I just smiled.
Even though I am used to her like this, it never fails to make me feel. My heart always melts whenever she’d say those three words.
She shifted and lays her head on my arm, her back faced me as she snuggled close to me.
I pressed my nose on her hair and inhaled deeply, my arms found its way on her waste down her toned yet soft stomach, my legs on the middle of hers. Her back side pressed against my crotch and I know she could feel me but she’s used to it, said she’s never bothered by it.
This is our comfortable position. This is our usual way of sleeping, snuggled closely, cuddling. Spooning. I sigh in contentment despite what happened earlier.
-----
One week has passed with the same routine. Me being jealous with Kai and then there’s Jennie and I cuddling every night. In all honesty, I’m getting tired.
Jennie and Kai keep on going out on a date. Jennie didn’t visit me again on my practice, it was a one-time thing. I got to spend time with Jisoo and Seul alone. Chae and Irene are busy with cheer practice, with Jennie.
We rarely see each other on campus. Students are busy with the preparation of the inter campus. Specially the student council, which Jisoo is the president. Seul with the volleyball practice. I get to watch her practice in the morning since I’ve nothing to do with that time of the day.
“Turtle Rabbit Kim!” I shouted as I barged in the student council office.
They all grunted while I laugh and strutted to the sofa on the left side of the room.
There's a rounded table at the center and white board at the front. On the other side of the room are glass cabinet with trophies and medals on it. The back portion of the room is where the smart flatscreen tv is with a coffee table and red leathered seat around it.
Hmm, Cozy.
"What are you doing here, Manoban?" Krystal asks with a frown and an obvious irritation laced on her voice. Oh, forgot to tell you that Krystal is the vice-president of the student council.
"I'm bored." I said with a pout.
I noticed that they were all gathered here, probably they were in a meeting given the amount of papers scattered on the table.
Ops!
I faked a shocked expression; my hand covered my mouth and gasped.
"Oh! Sorry for interrupting your meeting. Go on, continue." I grinned and waved my hand at them, as I lay down the sofa. They all shot me a disapproving look which I ignored because I know, they're used to my presence.
"So as what I was saying before we were pleasantly interrupted...." Jisoo says with sarcasm on her voice. I smiled and started to block out the noises.
I didn't know I fell asleep until I felt a slight tap on my shoulder, waking me up from deep slumber. I opened my eyes and looked at the person who woke me up.
"Krys..." I said, yawning as I sat up stretching. I looked behind her and saw no one else in the room. "They gone?"
She rolled her eyes and sat next to me.
"Obviously." She said. She shifted on her sit and starts fiddling her fingers.
I noticed her uneasiness so I asked her.
"What do you wanna tell me, Soo Jung?" My head tilted on the side as I look at her. She cleared her throat and fixed her gaze on the tiled floor.
"It's about Kai."
My face turned serious and waited for her to continue.
"Unbeknownst to others, Kai was my first love. We broke up recently and honestly speaking, I was kinda hurt and surprised when I heard that he was dating Jennie." She says. My breath hitch and just looked at her confusedly and urged her to continue.
She sighs.
"I don't want to assume things but I just want to tell you this because I don't trust him." She paused and takes a deep breath. "He was not a good lover, Lisa." She said and lifted her hand, rolled her sleeves to her elbow.
My eyes widen as I saw some bruises on her arm. It was darken, bluish and is huge. I hold her hand and carresed them. She winched at my touch.
"Whenever he would get angry, he'd do this." Taking her arm away from my touch, she rolled her sleeves back down. Tears are forming in her eyes.
"I just don't want other girls to experience what I did with Kai. I hope he'd change for Jennie." She sighs, wiping her tears. "I know you love her, Lisa. I beg you, don't let them be together." I cupped her cheeks with both of my hands, my thumb wiped her tears.
I moved closer to hug her. Her head against my chest as I tried to soothe her by carresing her back.
That's when the door opened and revealed Jennie with a shocked expression as her mind registered what was going on, her eyes landed on us, angry cat like eyes met my doe ones. My heart stopped and I froze as I look at her. Her eyes darkened and her cheeks turned red.
"What the f**k are you doing?" She asks to no one in particular. I couldn't bring myself to speak, I admit, I'm afraid as of the moment. Krystal sniffed and wipe her tears as she stood up and faced Jennie.
"Relax, she just helped me with something." Krystal casually said. But Jennie didn't bother listening to her nor glanced at her. she was just glaring at me.
I gulped.
"N-nini." I stuttered. f**k! She raised her eyebrow at me. If looks could kill, I'd be dead by now.
"Thanks again, Lisa. See you later." Krystal turned around and did the stupidest thing she could ever done.
She kissed my cheek and left with no more words uttered, leaving me here with my life hanging on a thin line.
Okay, maybe I was exaggerating.
My eyes widen as Jennie made her way towards me. Her eyes are filled with rage and fury. Her hands turned into a fist. I quickly stood up and before she could hit me, I hugged her tight. Her hands are trapped between us. She struggled to free herself but I didn't let her or I'd die otherwise.
"Nini, she was telling the truth." I said softly, my face nuzzled her neck. "Why are you so worked up anyway? Are you jealous?"
She stiffened but didn't say anything. I waited for her to answer, my heart's on the line.
"Jen---"
"No. Kai told me to keep an eye on Krystal. He says Krystal is a crazy b***h and would not hesitate to hurt those who are important to me." I gritted my teeth, f*****g Kai! "He told me she was her desperate ex. A super mega jealous ex girlfriend and would do anything to keep us apart."
I put my hand on either side of her shoulder, pushed her gently and looked straight on her eyes.
"He's lying! He was the psycho one. Jennie please. He'll hurt you just like what he did to Krys." I said. She frowned her eyebrows and pressed her lips together.
"Are you defending her, Manoban?" She said through gritted teeth. s**t, I hope I survive today.
"N-no but---"
"So you believe her and not me." She said. I didn't get any chance of defending myself as she quickly left the room.
I didn't try to go after her because I know Jennie, she’ll explode.
I sighed and sat down again with my face on my hands.
What s**t he’s on about? f*****g stupid bastard!
Hours and hours after that encounter, I kept myself busy and tried to ignore what had happened.
I was worried to say the least. I saw the evidences; I saw the bruises. I know right then and there that Krystal was telling me the truth. She’s not some crazy b***h that Kai was making her be.
She was Soo Jung, the former Queen of the school before Jennie reigned. Before we were ever here. I heard from seniors that Krystal is the most down to earth human being they could ever meet. Despite her stoic face, stone cold expression, which by the way, in any way similar with Jennie’s, she gained a lot of people admiring her all through out the time she was here.
She stepped down as being the president and being the Queen the moment she had seen Jennie. Said she had to do it because of the overwhelming charisma she holds.
The only problem is that Jennie doesn’t want any of that. She did not take what was being given to her.
Instead, she went for being in a cheer squad, then appointed as the cheer leader which she willingly accepted.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Jisoo asked me as we walk towards the gym where Seul was and probably Kai.
I shrugged.
It was already late but the sports team took an overtime practicing.
“I heard Jennie and Kai is a thing now.” I stopped at my tracks and looked at Jisoo with obvious shock on my face. “You heard me.” She continues.
My palms began to sweat as my heart started to pump harder in my chest.
“f**k…” I cursed. She chuckled and pat my shoulder. This bastard of a friend!
“I-I gotta go.” I murmured and left her there without anything to say.
Second after, I’m in front of Jennie’s room, which is adjacent to my dorm building inside the school.
I knocked frantically at her door and waited for her to open up. At the third attempt, the door swung open and there, a disoriented girl with a messy hair and her cat like eyes staring at me with death in them. I admit that that is the hottest thing to look at but I was here about something else.
“I have to talk to you, Mandu.” I said and walked past her as I invited myself in. It’s not like I haven’t been here all my life, this is practically my second room as I spend most of my time here. Why? You know why. Don’t ask.
“I assumed the news has gotten to your ears, Manoban. What’s up?” She asked as she plopped herself on her soft love seat on the living room.
The seat we’ve been cuddling. I sighed, not hiding the disappointment visible on my face. I looked down at her.
“Why?” Was all I could say. Searching her eyes for answers but nothing was there.
Her brows knitted together as I stand there, completely lost.
“What do you mean, why? And what’s up with you?” She asks completely unaware of the fact that my insides are dying.
“Did you like that much to commit a relationship with him?” My voice raised and I could tell she did not like that but I don’t care!
She raised and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I do. Now, why are you so worked up?” She asks, irritation clearly visible on her voice as she waited for me to answer.
My heart cracked.
“You can’t!” I yelled; she arched her eyebrow at me.
“I can’t, because?” f**k, I looked everywhere but her.
That caused her to stepped closer at me and put her hand on both my cheeks, forcing me to look down at her. Her brows knitted together yet again.
Drowning by her stare, I gathered all my courage and did the stupidest thing in the world.
“I love you.” I say softly as I let my confession sink in.
She smiled, looking confused.
“Of course, and I love you.” She said. I sighed in frustration as she wasn’t getting what I was meaning to say.
I put my right hand on her nape and pull her closer as I closed the gap between us. Soft, full lips met mine and I could tell you, it was the sweetest thing I have ever tasted in the whole wide world.
Our lips touched and not moving for a moment. I slowly opened my eyes to look at her only to be met by shocked ones. Eyes opened wide as tears pooling on them. I quickly retracted myself from her and caressed her cheek.
Stupid!
When she gained back herself, she looked me in the eye. Loathe, anger, frustrations in them.
She slaps me…
My hand went on the cheek that was slapped, the impact made my cheek burn and sting. But that did not suffice the pain inside me.
“Show yourself out.” She said. Her voice low and filled with venom.
I knew then that I f****d up.
