9: UNDERNEATH HER DRESS

CAMERON'S POV

"Nailagay ko na ang camera sa office ko kaya ang kailangan nalang natin ngayon is to wait."

I informed Liam na nakaupo lang sa gilid ng mesa ko. Kasalukuyan kaming nasa safe room na connected sa company office ko ngayon. No one knows this secret room except us. This is the perfect place para maghintay sa kung sinuman ang mangangahas na pumasok sa office ko mamaya. This is a soundproofed room so even if we'll host a party here right now, no one will know from outside.

This is where I hid important and confidential document files and some....things for security purposes. It could be handy sometime for self defense. Lalo na't maraming gustong magpabagsak sa company ko and I would be dumb enough to let that happen without even giving a fight.

"Good. ---" then Liam checked the time on his wristwatch.

"Ten minutes before 7pm. Anong oras kaya papasok ang mga 'yon?"

I just sighed then looked at the screen of my laptop. Connected na ito sa lahat ng camera na nasa office ko kaya kita ko na mula rito ang loob nito.

"Maghintay lang tayo."

He just nodded.

This would confirm the validity of that text this morning.

Being reminded with that sender, I quickly looked up at Liam.

"Liam, nakausap mo na ba ang mga tauhan mo tungkol dun sa pinapagawa ko sa'yo?"

He glanced up at me in confusion.

"Saan do'n?"

"About that sender this morning."

"Oh.." he nodded in understanding while crossing his arms.

"Yes. Nakausap ko na sila pero sa ngayon, focus muna sila about sa first subject namin.."

That made me frowned at that, confused with him.

"First subject?"

Rolling his eyes, he answered me,

"Ahuh. Sam Javier, your destiny remember??" Then the idiot chuckled.

I immediately groaned at the mention of that name and how this asshole had described her.

Destiny indeed!

Destined to kill me with frustrations!

Kung 'di ko lang talaga kaibigan ang gagong 'to, matagal ko na sana 'tong inupakan.

Heaving up a deep breath, I tried to ignore him.

"Kailan ko malalaman ang report niyo about her?"

"Oh?? Excited ka naman 'tol. Couldn't you wait a little more?.." then he laughed in amusement, stretching my patience to its end.

This asshole!

Buti nalang hindi rinig mula sa labas ang tawa nito dahil kung hindi, I could've gag his mouth by now just to shut him up.

I just tightly closed my eyes while groaning with so much frustrations. Massage my temple to atleast prevent myself from lashing at him.

"Liam......." I warned with low voice.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." He said while raising his hands in resignation, kahit na halatang nahihirapan parin itong pigilang matawa.

For awhile, I just kept throwing him a warning look.

But once he had recovered, he cleared his throat saka nagsalita uli ito.

"Now, tungkol sa chiks na'yon----"

His mouth clamped shut when my warning look became threatening.

"Alright.. I mean tungkol sa P.I na 'yon, my men had already started their investigation on her at hinihintay ko nalang ang tawag nila."

"Good." I said while nodding my head kahit gusto ko nang sapakin ito.

Kailangan kong malaman ang tungkol sa babaeng 'yon. I know there's something mysterious about her and who knows, baka magagamit ko pala 'yon against her so she'd work for me.

I need her weakness to control her and so she'd be forced to give me her loyalty.

"Cam??"

I glanced up when Liam called me. Palapit ito sa pintuan ngayon, to the door dividing this room and my office.

"I think may naririnig ako mula sa labas, Cam."he said as he leaned his ears close to the door.

Hearing that, tiningnan ko na agad ang mga nangyayari sa loob at my laptop.

My eyes narrowed at the screen when my office door slowly opened then an intruder appeared and carefully came inside.

Holy s**t!

"Liam.." tawag ko agad rito. Agad naman itong lumapit sa'kin and joined me.

"The hell!"

The hell indeed!

Of course. Sino bang mag-aakala na may papasok talaga rito? No one dared to do that except Enriquez's men.

And maybe, dahil akala nila hindi ako naglalagay ng security cam sa office ko that was why they were bold enough to sneak in my office without even masking their damn face!

The intruder quickly moved close to my table saka hinalughog ang mga drawers nito, checking every papers inside the cabinet. And when he found nothing, he quickly moved to my shelves.

"Kilala mo ba yan?" tanong ni Liam while trying to recognize the intruder's face. Medyo madilim sa loob but I know that face so well kaya 'di ko na kailangan pang kilalanin ito.

I just smirked at that and leaned my back against my chair.

"He's from the management department."

Tumango-tango lang ito with an 'Ooh' form in his mouth.

"So totoo nga ang tip na 'yon.."

Indeed.

"You have to find that sender no matter what, Liam. We might need his service from time to time."

"I know...." he agreed with a nod as he sat back at the seat before my desk.

"So ano nga palang gagawin mo sa taong yan? Care to share your idea?"

That question made me smirk as a bright idea came in mind.

Ano nga bang magandang gawin sa mga traydor?

"I don't like that wicked look on your face right now, Cam. Please tell me you won't murder this idiot."

"Enriquez would be very pleased once he'd find out this failure again." Excited na sagot ko rito while tapping my fingers on my chin. Too excited just the thought of seeing his reaction about this.

"Oh please, Cam,.. Stop that. Ba't 'di nalang natin puntahan ang gagong 'yan ngayon and have him arrested---"

"No. Hayaan na muna natin ang taong yan. I have a plan."

That made him frowned at me, quite against with it.

"The ECC will handle a fundraising event on Tuesday night and this could be----"

I was interrupted when his phone started ringing in his pocket. Signaling me to wait, he quickly received that call with urgency.

"Victor.."

My brow quickly raised at that, quite interested to know kung sino ang Victor na 'yon. I just observed him na tumango-tango lang habang nakikinig sa kabilang linya.

It didn't take him long before he finally ended that call saka agad na tumingin sa'kin.

"It's about Sam Javier..."

My ear pricked up at the mention of her name.

"What about her?"

"Samantha Romero, yan ang tunay niyang pangalan...After the accident 10 years ago na siyang dahilan ng pagkamatay ng parents niya, apelyido na ng mother niya ang ginamit niya since then.."

My brows furrowed at that then looked at him with questioning looks.

"And why is that?" confused kong tanong rito.

He just shrugged, telling me he himself didn't know.

"Continue."

He nodded.

"At base sa nakalap na informations ng mga tauhan ko, sinadya ang aksidenteng 'yon or atleast as what Ms. Javier had believed it was. At hanggang ngayon, 'di pa tukoy kung sinong may pakana ng lahat ng 'yon.."

Mas lalo pang kumunot ang noo ko nang marining 'yon.

"So she strongly believe that there was a foul play happened. Wala ba silang lead kung sino ang posibleng may gawa nun?"

He shook his head at that.

Oh God.

"She was only fourteen at that time and bago raw siya mawalan ng malay noon, she saw a clue na siyang makakapagturo sana sa kung sinong may pakana nito but with her hazy memory, that clue had done nothing at all."

That caught my interest.

"What clue?"

"A ring. A family heirloom ring."

How sad... Mahirap ngang hanapin ang clue na yon.

So now I know kung bakit ganun nalang ang ugali nito. She was trying to hide herself behind that cold and tough exterior.

At sa ugaling meron ito, I know she won't just give up without getting the justice her parents deserved. Siguro nga natutulog lang ang case nito but from my own opinion, she'd been trying to dig the truth....secretly.

She's a P.I after all... and..

.......Because I am not living for this job, Mr. del Fuero. I'm only living for one reason, but not for that....

Yes. Definitely.

And she was only living for that reason.

Hunting the truth behind that incident.

"Alam ba nila kung anong pinagkakaabalahan niya ngayon, Liam? A new case perhaps?"

He nodded then told me the info about her case..

Malay natin, magagamit ko pala ito to blackmail her. And this time, I will make sure na oobra na'to.

Just thinking back at the event happened last night in my office, my mouth twitched in a smirk as my gaze followed her car from a distance.

I've finally cornered her well back there. At pirma nalang nito ang kulang to finally seal our agreement.

And with the surprising news I just received from Liam bago paman ito bumalik rito, mukhang tama nga ang desisyon kong pilitin itong magtrabaho sa'kin.

And even bringing her as my date tonight in a public event.

Shit!

Kung hindi ko lang sana nalamang siya at ang sender na'yon ay iisa, I would've refused her condition righy away..

I don't know why she was doing that but knowing her, I'm quite certain it was for her mission.

I just hope na disente ang isusuot nito mamayang gabi. She'd be there for her mission as my date but not as a p********e kaya sana naman pormal ang isusuot nito mamaya.

But then again, she's Sam Javier, Cameron. The stubborn as hell woman kaya tiyak mas pipiliin pa nitong magsuot ng usual outfit nito na parang siga kaysa mag ala cinderella.

And I don't want that...Ayokong mapahiya sa lahat ng nandoon sa event na yon with her wearing her damn 'jacket-jeans-sneakers' usual outfit.

Shaking off my head, I quickly dialed for my secretary's number to do some shopping for me.

"Come on, Cam! You should wait for your destiny---"

His mouth snapped shut when I throw him a sharp glare.

Kanina pa'ko kinukulit nito tungkol sa babaeng yon. At hanggang dito sa party, 'di parin nya'ko nilulubayan. Forcing me to wait for that damn woman at the entrance.

There's no way I'd do that! Ano ito ? Siniswerte?

And Jesus! 7:20 pm na and until now, wala parin ito!

I hope na kung dadating man ito, suot na nito 'yong pinadala kong damit kanina.

"Just shut your mouth, Liam! I'm trying to focus with my plan here!" I whisper-yelled at him, not wanted to attract anyone's attention.

"Yeah, yeah. kung ayaw mo siyang antayin sa entrance, eh 'di ako nalang..." saad nito saka tumalikod while rolling his eyes.

Good.

Ayokong masira ang plano ko kaya mas mabuti ng wala akong kasamang asungot.

After he had heard our conversation earlier, hindi na ito tumigil sa pang-aasar sa'kin.

And to witness our 'date with my destiny', his words, sinamahan pa talaga nya ko rito.

To definitely pester me around.

Groaning about it, I looked around me, trying to find my great friend, Enriquez.

Unfortunately, I hadn't seen him since my arrival.

Well, siguro naghahanda for my surprise later.

I smirked at that thought.

Kung ganun man, then I have to atleast enjoy the drinks first.

I quickly took a glass of champagne mula sa dumaan na waitress.

The young waitress smiled at me. Since hindi naman ito ngiting parang nang-aakit, I just slightly nodded at her.

Mula rito, tanaw ko si Liam na matiyagang naghihintay sa babaeng yon sa may entrance.

Waiting for someone na hindi naman yata dadating.

Shaking my head, I sipped my drink saka tumingin tingin uli sa paligid ko, observing the people. Who knows, kahit pala rito may inihanda na namang katarantaduhan ang Enriquez na yon. Mas mabuti nang handa.

"Mr. del Fuero!"

I groaned when I heard that familiar voice from behind.

Fucking-perfect timing!

Forcing out a smile, I turned around and found Gloria in her red sexy gown with a long slit on her right side.

Alright. Here comes one of my reasons why I hated parties.

Gloria Mendez. Ang mistress ng bayan.

"I didn't know you would be here!" She exclaimed sabay kapit sa braso ko, making me groaned with it in annoyance.

"Not now, Gloria." I grumbled then sipped my drink.

She just rolled her eyes and tightened her clutch on me.

Annoying me more with her clinginess.

Sighing out, I quickly took her hand off my arm, feeling burnt with her touch.

Malay ko ba kung sinu-sino ng lalaki ang pinatulan ng babaeng 'to.

"Come on, Cameron.. I know wala ka na namang date ngayon so why not have me as your date then? "

"May date na'ko, Gloria so please, leave me alone."

The woman just crossed her arms while looking at me with raised eyebrow, as if I had said a funny joke.

"At sino naman kaya yan hmm? Your imaginary date? Oh come on, Mr. Del Fuero! Don't even lie to me."

My patience was starting to lose out now. And this woman was the one making it! Couldn't-----

I suddenly stopped with my thoughts nang mapansin ko na si Liam na may kausap sa may entrance. With some woman. I can't properly see her face pero the way how he talk animatedly at the woman, I think he was fan of that---- s**t!

My eyes widened when that woman turned around.

Sam Javier. Sam Javier without her badass outfit.

So she finally came.

My gaze shifted down on her black off-shoulder mermaid dress she wore.

It perfectly fit on her and even accentuated her curves. Even her tanned skin compliments the color of her dress. Nakalugay lang ang mahabang buhok nito ngayon which was a first time for me seeing her like that.

I guess my secretary had a good taste after all.

Hanggang sahig ang haba ng gown na yon kaya 'di kita ang heels na pinadala ko kasama ng damit na yon.

And with the way how she was gracefully walking right now. Halatang sanay na sanay ito sa heels.

My brow quirked up nang makita ko na itong ngumiti kay Liam habang naglalakad papunta sa direksyon namin.

I thought she never know how to smile. So liam is an exemption then.

"Cameron? Nakikinig ka ba sa'kin?"

That made me looked at Gloria while scowling. Annoyed with her disturbing my thoughts.

"You can leave now, Gloria. Nandito na ang date ko tonight."

She just rolled her eyes, not even believing my words.

"You can't fool me, Cameron. I know nagpapakipot ka lang pa---"

"Cam! Here's your date. The gorgeous, Samantha!"

That made her shut her mouth and turned to her side with surprised look in her eyes.

A look which amuses me tonight."

"Liam, just Sam please."

My brow quirked up at that, on how she had sweetly called Liam in his first name.

"No. Samantha suits you better so please, don't deprive me with using your lovely name." The idiot answered with dramatic voice and winked at her.

Clearly, he was enjoying this woman's company. And being a charming playboy that he was, talagang nakakasundo agad nito ang lahat ng babaeng lalapitan nito.

"At sino naman ang babaeng 'to?" Came Gloria's query nang mahimasmasan ito.

Alam nitong hindi ako nagsasama ng kadate every time na dadalo ako sa ganitong okasyon. So she was probably wondering now why I have this woman here.

"His date."

"Date?"

Liam nodded at her with furrowed brows.

"Huh! As if I'd believe that! We all know na hindi naman nagsasama ng date si Cameron so how come na--"

"Well, it was before, Ms. Whoever-you-are. I am his date tonight and there's no need for your exaggerated reaction. We're not here for that anyway." The other witch strike without even bothering to filter her mouth. Causing the other's nostrils instantly flared out.

Alright.

Now Gloria have finally met her match.

"How dare you, you-you---"

"b***h?"

Gloria's face turned all red when she supplied that word.

Alright. Although this was quite exciting to watch, we have to stop them now since their match was starting to draw an attention.

"Gloria, please leave now."

"Yes. Mabuti pa nga before you'll ruin our night here."

When Liam seconded that, she scowled and glared more at her opponent while grumbling under her breath.

"Di pa tayo tapos babae ka! Tandaan mo 'yan!" Galit na saad nito saka aalis na sana but was stopped when the tigress Sam choose to open her claws again.

Her venomous claws.

"Well, sorry to tell you this Miss but I don't have any intention to meet you again even in my afterlife so it would be better kung magmomove on ka nalang. Okay?" Then she smiled. Her famous sarcastic smile.

Gloria now looking like she'd explode anytime while throwing her with hateful glares.

"I swear---

"Don't swear, just do it."

Liam suddenly snorted, ready to burst out into laughter, causing Gloria's hateful glare to shift on him.

I just shook my head at their spat. Slightly feeling sorry for the woman.

Poor Gloria..

"Hindi pa tayo tapos!" she hissed out before he walked out while stomping her feet and cursing the hell out of Samantha. Drawing everyone's gaze.

"Bye, Gloria..." Liam sarcastically said then waved at the retreating woman while grinning.

"Jusko! Hindi ko akalaing lapitin ka pala ng mga aso.."

That got me turned at her way with furrowed brows.

Ako ba'ng tinutukoy na babaeng 'to?

"Yes, Cam. Ikaw nga 'yong tinutukoy nya.."

Sambat naman ng gagong Liam. Reading my thoughts just looking at my face,.

"Shut up, liam." I growled at him with a glare.

He quickly raised his hands up.

"Sinagot ko lang ang tanong na nasa isip mo. Just that okay?" Then he grinned. Causing me to massage my temple in frustration.

Gusto ko na talagang patayin ang isang 'to.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself before I could punch him here.

Ba't ko pa ba naging kaibigan ang-----

"Mr. del Fuero. Liam. Aalis na muna ako. I just have something important na gagawin. Please don't find me."

That pulled me out from my thoughts.

Aalis?

I studied her face, but she was looking at the other's direction now.

Following her gaze, I found the Chief Administrative Officer of ECC.

I frowned and then looked at her again.

So ang taong 'yon ang subject nito tonight?

Hmm, marami na ngang kaso ang lalaking 'to pero lagi namang nakakawala sa batas.

"Okay, Sam! No problem. Just go and take your time." Liam cheerfully agreed.

Tumango lang ako rito bilang sagot ko. After all, nandito lang naman ito dahil sa case nito.

She just nodded at us and without any word, she left with hasty steps.

I just followed her retreating back with my gaze, so amazed by how she still looked so fine right now kahit halos tumatakbo na ito ngayon palabas rito.

I had never seen any woman before ran like that with ease while wearing high heels.

Buti naman at magaling na itong magdala ng heels ngayon. Because the last time I've saw her on heels, mukhang hirap na hirap itong magdala and now---

My thoughts halted in a zap when she suddenly lifted her dress. Kasabay nito ay ang paglaki ng mga mata ko as I found the reason why running was too easy for her.

A shoes.

She was wearing a f*****g converse shoes!!!! HOLY HELL!
