" At my age, how could I possibly make a joke hija. I want to see you settle down before I die."
Kinilabutan si Simone sa huling sinabi ng kanyang ama. Ayaw na ayaw niyang naririnig na magsalita ng ganoon ang ama.
She already lost her Mom.
She cannot bear to lose him.
Kahit siya ang muling nagbangon at nagpaunlad sa Laurent Industries, ang kanyang ama pa rin ang nasusunod sa kanilang tahanan. Matagal nang tradisyon sa pamilya Laurent ang arreanged marriage.
She loved him so much. She never blamed him for what happened to their family business, to their life. Masyado lang nagtiwala ang kanyang ama sa ibang tao. A weakness she will never have.
" The least I needed is a man like him,Dad. I would gladly accept it if he is in a business world like us. But not to a model like him? How can he help me manage our businesses? You could've find me an older man. But he is just 26!"
" Come on Simone. I know what I am doing. It's been settled. I already talked to his parents."
She just gaped at his father..Disbelief was all over her face.
Ni hindi niya pinag abalahang basahin ang nasa loob ng folder- ang file ng lalake. What for?
"They owned a very vital drug, Simone. Nalugi man ang kanilang kompanya, still, may pinanghahawakan silang alas. Kulang lang sila sa funds-"
"I can lend them money-"
"I'm tired. I want to take a nap. Sooner or later, expect the Saintclaire to visit us."
Walang nagawa ang dalaga kundi ang mapanganga na lang.
" I thought their asking for a merger ,Dad. Why the sudden change of mind?"
Dapat pala ay inasikaso niya ang merging ng kanilang mga kompanya.
Don Philippe shook his head.
"It will take much time hija. Gusto ko ng makita ang mga apo ko sayo. Stella has two kids already. Anya..well I dunno. I am not getting any younger. And so do you. You've proven your self already. Now it's time to settle down."
But not with this gigolo!
A fashion model? Really?
She marched out of the study room feeling irked.
Ah, gagawin niya lahat upang ang lalakeng yun ang aayaw sa kasal nila.
Itinapon niya sa basurahan ang hawak na folder. She doesn't need that. Gagawa siya ng sariling investigation. Hahanapan niya ng butas ang Luca Sainclaire na yun.
