Number 28

"I'll just take a bath," 

I told Xian. We already got our schedule in the Battlefield and we're already preparing.

I took a quick bath and prepared myself. Our clothes are well prepared. 

I chose an all black outfit for tonight. I wore a black pair of jeans topped with black leather jacket above the black tank top. I also paired that with a black leather ankle boots. 

I covered my blue eyes with a pair of hazel contact lenses. It somehow hides my identity plus, it looks good in my natural blonde hair. I didn't bother to put accessories as it would just bother me later. 

I looked more mature with my heavy make up. 

"Do I look fine?" Tanong ko kay Xian. 

He's also wearing an all black outfit. 

"I still like your blue eyes," It didn't sound like a compliment but for me it does. "Let's go. They must be waiting for us," 

"What took you so long?" Ariadne rolled her eyes. She's wearing a white tight dress. 

I wonder why she's wearing a dress. 

Margret is wearing low waist skinny jeans topped with a hanging blouse. Michael on her side is wearing a pair of jean top with a red shirt underneath a white leather jacket. 

Jasmine is wearing shorts topped with a fitted shirt.

"We'll head there first. This is your invitations and the masks you'll be wearing," 

Just like what Ariadne instructed us, we went to the location after thirty minutes. 

Medyo malayo ang centrum pero diretso lang ang byahe. 

When our driver stopped in front of the Centrum 

"We're finally here," I said and went out of the van. Xian followed me and the rest of us. 

We are wearing face masks, which cover half of our faces, leaving our eyes visible. 

We have the invitations that Ariadne told us to present to the reception area. A buff guy authorized the invitation and let us all in. 

The centrum looks like an arena. 

As we entered the Centrum, another buff guy stopped us and gave us a card with a number on it. 

I got the number 28. 

The numbers are given randomly, even though I went first, Shyna's and the rest's numbers are lower than mine. 

"You can go inside," 

The buff guy told us. We all entered the Centrum. Finally!

It's kind of different. The arena seems quieter than the usual arena. The sub-organizations are sitting base on their locations

There it is in the middle, the Olympus. 

We all walked towards our seats. It's in the lower part of the benches since we are all here as an applicant. 

While walking towards our seats, my eyes aren't leaving Hera's place. She seemed to notice me and stared back at me. 

I chose to look away so I wouldn't catch anyone's attention. 

Tinignan ko si Ariadne at pasimpleng tumango lang sya at tumingin naman ako sa kaliwa ng Olympus ang Knossos. 

Queen Pasiphae at King Minos.

I can feel my hands trembling out of anger. Then, I felt Xian's hand on me. Calming every nerves in me. 

We were just silent the whole time we were waiting.

Little later, Hera went down with a microphone in her right hand. 

"Good evening everyone," she started. She sounds mature than she was. "I am Hera, the Queen of Olympus. Good evening. Tonight, we will have our annual Battlefield." 

The crowd clapped as she said that.

"Before we officially start our Battlefield, I'd like to commend the King and Queen of every sub-organizations in our island for coming here and to join us."

The King and Queen of every sub-organizations stood up and showed Hera a small bow. Hera also did the same.

"Let's now proceed with the rules," she paused a bit waiting for the huge monitor to display the rules. "No. 1 rule, no weapons can be used during the one-on-one battle. No. 2, the one-on-one battle will only last for five minutes. No. 3, inside the five-minute rule and you're able to knock your opponent twice then you win. Last rule, if you win the one-on-one battle, then you are allowed to choose which organization you would want to belong with." 

We all nodded after she explained the rules. 

"Now, may we call onto the person who's holding the card with a number one on it," Hera scanned the place and she stopped looking around when she saw Shyna preparing.

Shyna raised her card. It really has number one on it. 

Shyna showed the card and the invitation to a woman who stopped her from entering the Battlefield floor. The woman identified the invitation and card and then let Shyna in. 

Shyna's opponent is also a woman. 

They met in the middle. Hera said something to them and they both nodded before they shook hands. 

"It's all settled then, the Battlefield begins right now," When Hera said that, she moved away and someone pulled a trigger. SIgn that the Battlefield has officially started. 

Shyna positioned herself, however the woman immediately attacked her. Shyna had a hard time dodging the attack as she was caught off-guard.

Her opponent attacked again and Shyna tried to dodge them all. But it seems like she's having a hard time dodging as the woman would sometimes hit her. 

We suddenly felt nervous when the woman stepped back and swung her leg towards Shyna. Shyna couldn't dodge the kick and it hit her stomach which made her step back a bit. Fortunately, she didn't fall on the ground. 

The woman smirked when she saw Shyna holding her stomach and looked in pain. She was about to attack but Shyna grabbed her hand, tipped toe and immediately pulled the woman. Shyna turned around like a ballerina and when her sole touched the ground, she turned around and with her other free hand, she pushed the woman, making it fall on the ground. 

"The Red Ballerina is back," I heard Margaret whispered to John. 

"She's always been the ballerina we knew," John said and smirked. 

Shyna's opponent immediately stood up holding her probably twisted arm. 

Using the opponent's technique, Shyna didn't lose a second and suddenly attacked the woman making it fall again on the ground. 

Just like that, Shyna won in three minutes. 

Shyna looks exhausted but we can see in her eyes that she's smiling. She bowed to me and Red. 

Red and I bowed a little to show how grateful we are. 

"Welcome to the Labyrinth Island," Hera said as soon as she reached the floor. "How do you want us to call you?" She asked

"You can call me Red Ballerina," She said. 

"Again Red Ballerina congratulations and welcome to the island. Now, which organization would you like to belong with?" Hera asked.

Shyna was still panting when she answered. "'I'd like to belong with the Minotaur," The Minotaur crowd clapped when Shyna chose them. Ariadne stood up and welcomed Shyna in their crowd. 

After that, Hera called the second pair. The winner chose to belong in the Olympus. We saw Zeus welcoming the winner. 

"May we call on here the person who got the card with number three on it," Hera said. Again, she scanned the place looking for the third pair.She saw Red and the opponent. 

Just like Shyna, Red also showed the invitation and the card and went in the middle beside Hera. 

Hera was staring at Red and Red bowed a little which makes her come to her senses. 

Hera said something and the two bowed and shook hands. 

We heard again the signal and the third one-on-one battle started. 

Red is kinda impatient at things he's not very interested in. That's why in a minute he was able to take the opponent down, twice. 

Red is surely way older than his opponent but when it comes to personal skill, I don't think his opponent has at least a fourth of Red's skills. 

Just like the plan, Red chose to enter the Minotaur. Ariadne welcomed Red by hugging him. 

The fourth battle was Alyana. Her opponent is a woman and she looks a bit younger than Alyana. 

Naunang umatake ang kalaban nya. Sumuntok ito pakanan sa mukha nya pero sinalag 'yon ng kaliwang kamay ni Alyana pero hindi nya binitawan.

Sumuntok pakaliwa ang kalaban nya kaya ganon din ang ginawa nya at ginamit nya ang kanang kamay.

She took advantage of the crossed arm of her opponent. She pulled the woman and using his right leg, she kicked the woman's knee and it fell on the ground. 

Third Person P.O.V

Alayana won her one-on-one battle and chose the Minotaur group. The battle continues and John is the eight pair to battle. 

John and his opponent positioned themselves. His opponent attacked first and John did the defense. 

Sometimes he would dodge his opponent and would attack. John knows it's going to tire him out if he continues the defense. 

John waited for the right time and when he noticed his opponent was panting, he grabbed his opponent's arm. He stepped back a little, pulling his opponent closer to him. He turned around and John heard his opponent's bone cracking. From his opponent's behind, he kicked it's back knees and it fell on his knees. John let go of the arm and the man couldn't stand anymore. John's opponent is just holding it's twisted arm.

The referee tried to interfere asking if he wouldn't stand, then John won.

John's opponent tried to stand up but immediately fell. Which makes John the final winner. 

Just like that, Ariadne welcomed John in the Minotaur crowd. 

"May we call on the ninth pair?" Hera

Michael waved his card while hopping down. 

"Isn't he so excited?" Margaret whispered to Xian. 

"You know him, excited in every fight." Xian whispered back and Margaret chuckled. 

Michael's opponent is such a buff guy. Michael eyes his opponent from head to toe. 

I used to be like that, 

Michael can't help but to get envied with his opponent. His age and him being a father surely affected his normal routine. He used to be this buff before Margaret gave birth.

When Margaret gave birth, he didn't have time to do his work out and usual training as he helped Margaret take care of their son. But none of those were wasted. He did not regret using all his time to take care of his beloved beautiful wife and son. 

He had the greatest time of his life whenever he was with his wife and son. He just couldn't wait for their enemy to fall down because he wanted to get his wife pregnant again, this time, he wanted a baby girl. 

When Michael and his opponent heard the signal they both positioned themselves. 

The buff guy started attacking. His steps and moves were a bit heavy. Which Michael has an advantage. He sees that his opponent lacks experience in close combat. The hands and arms of his opponent looks like it was always holding a heavy gun. Which for Michael only means, his opponent is good in long-range guns but not in a close-combat like they are having. 

When Michael saw his opponent starting to pant, he started attacking. 

"Walang mintis," Margaret said. 

Sunod sunod ang pinakawalan na suntok ni Michael. Ang mga suntok niya ay sa iba't ibang direksyon kaya nahirapan ang kanyang kalaban na sundan ang kanyang galaw. 

His opponent fell on the ground when he kicked the guy in the center. 

"Ooops," Michael smirked when the opponent couldn't stand.

Matthew and Xian were laughing because of the technique that Michael used. 

"That's a forbidden technique," Matthew said while laughing. 

"Such a douchebag," Xian also commented.

Just like that, Michael won and chose the Minotaur. 

"It's my turn," Nicole said when her number was called. 

"Good luck," Jasmine said and smiled behind the mask she's wearing. Matthew just winked at him which made Nicole roll her eyes on him.

Jasmine and Matthew just laughed. 

Nicole bowed a little to Angel. 

"Show them the reaper moves," Angel 

"I will be Queen," Nicole said. It was just loud enough for Angel to hear. 

Nicole showed her card and invitation. 

The battle became more interesting when they saw Nicole's opponent. It's a guy. 

Nicole couldn't care less. For her, it was just another battle she needed to win. 

Her opponent looks confident seeing Nicole as his opponent. 

Nicole concentrated while waiting for their battle to begin. 

Reapers are the King and Queen's pawn. In order to become one, intense training is very needed. As one of the highest ranking reapers, this kind of battle should be easy for her. After all, their opponents are just neophytes. 

When they heard the signal, they both positioned themselves. They are both trying to attack each other which makes them open to each other. That's why Nicole tried to defend using his arm when her opponent tried to punch her. 

They battled for strength with their arms. Nicole just knew that the guy is stronger than her. Nicole stepped her right foot backwards to support the weight that her opponent is pining on her. She freed her left hand and snaked it on his nape. She twisted her right arm to give her space. She pinned more her left foot down and lifted his right knees. 

With the space she created in between them and her left hand on her opponent's nape, she was able to attack the face of his enemy using her knee. 

When her opponent tried to release himself, Nicole used her right hand to pin her opponent's head down more and continued kneeing his face. With last attack, she released its head and it fell on the ground. 

They just suddenly couldn't recognize Nicole's opponent's face as it was bleeding. 

Ariadne welcomed Nicole when she chose the Minotaur. Before Nicole can even settle, she bowed a little towards Angel's direction. Which makes Angel smile beneath the mask she's wearing.
