Chapter 18: Changes of Plan

"They are gone," 

Xian whispered in my ears. He wrapped his arms around my shoulder as I hugged myself from feeling cold. 

I felt terrible with the thought of sending Margarett away. I just know that it's not going to be safe for her as she's pregnant. 

"Good thing she agreed to leave," Shyna said while still looking at the dark sky. I smiled a bit to show them that's for the better. 

"Yes. I guess she became more decided after she heard her son's voice." Red said. 

"Let's get back to work," My brother said. I nodded and so we head back to our villa. 

While on our way back, I called Ariadne. 

[Yes? Did they leave already?] Pagbati agad ni Ariadne.

"Yes, they did. Thank you for processing their papers." Mabuti na lang at pinsan ko si Ariadne. 

Hindi ko alam kung anong mangyayari sakin o samin kung wala si Ariadne.

[No big a deal. So what made you call?] She asked.

"Well, I am wondering if you are available with your friends," I plan to talk about adjustments now that Margarett and Michael left. We need someone to fill in their shoes.

[Tonight?] I looked at my wrist watch and it's only six thirty. We still have time to prepare for dinner. 

"Yes, let's talk over dinner."

[We're about to go out for dinner. But I guess we can crash over for dinner,] I even heard Heracle asked 'what's for dinner?'

"Okay. I'll see you later,"

[Okay bye,] She said and hang the call. 

I announced that I invited Ariadne and her friends over to talk about our adjustments and plans. 

The girls decided to cook something. Some of the guys wanted to help but they shoved them off as they weren't really helping at all. 

"Does this portion enough for all of us?" I heard Nicole asked while adjusting the taste of the dish she's cooking. 

"I think so. They guys eat a lot," Shyna said. 

"Matthew ano ba?!" 

We laughed when Nicole yelled at Matthew. He was lurking around. 

"Galit na galit?" pang-aasar pa sa kanya nito. "Matatapos na ba 'yan?" tanong pa nito. 

"Yes and instead of lurking around, why don't you start fixing the table?" 

"Areglado boss!" Sumaludo pa sya bago lumapit sa isang cabinet.

He took out plates and counted them to the number we needed. A little later, he left the plates and left the kitchen but he also went back with John and Xian.

"Ito pa," Utos nya kay John at Xian. 

John brought the glasses while Xian count the utensils. Matthew was the one who brought the plate on the table. Then they started arranging the tables.

I brought out some serving plates where Nicole and Shyna can put the dishes they created. Alyana was the one who started plating the dishes that was already done. She called Red to bring out the dishes. 

While I was helping Jasmine with the drinks, Ariadne and her friends just got inside the villa. They even brought some wine and champagne for us. 

"Good thing you invited us for a dinner," Ariadne said while pouting her lips. She just entered the kitchen and put the wine and champagne in the cellar. 

"Thank you for inviting us over," Heracle said and fixed her eye glasses. It's the first time I saw her wearing eye glasses. It looks good on her tho.

"Yes, thank you. We were supposed to eat in a Mexican restaurant because of Hector," Elissa ranted. Nicole and Shyna laughed as Elissa rant about the Mexican food. 

"Oh let me help with that," Elissa offered when she saw me bringing the bowl of rice. 

"Thank you," I smiled and handed her over the bowl of rice. I went beside Jasmine and helped her with the drinks. 

Ariadne and Heracle helped Nicole and Shyna to plate the last dishes they cooked. 

When we got out of the kitchen, I saw Alyana helping the guys to set up the table. 

"You're still not done arranging the table?" Nicole suddenly went in the dining area with a plate in her hand. She put the above the table and helped arranging the food. 

"Ang bagal kasi nito," paninisi ni Matthew kay John. 

"Whatever," Nicole said and started helping Alyana with the arrangements. 

After the arrangement, Jasmine called my brother to eat. He went straight in their room earlier that's why Jasmine have to call him for dinner. 

"We're not too busy naman Angel," Ariadne suddenly said to me. "Maybe we can talk later after eating," she said while eyeing the dishes on the table. 

"Okay then, let's enjoy the dinner." 

My plan of talking about the plan over dinner didn't happened. Instead we ate while talking of some random things. 

"That's why I bought some wine and champagne. So we can drink them while talking about the plan," Ariadne said, almost finishing her plate. 

After eating our dinner, Elissa and Heracle offered to wash the dishes but the guys volunteered to wash the dishes. 

Ariadne and I went inside the kitchen to get the wine and champagne. Hector and Syne were the one who helped us with wine glasses. 

We served the wine and champagne while waiting for Xian, Matthew, and John. 

"I'll just change my shirt," Xian said after they finished doing the dishes. His shirt was soaked in water. I just nodded. Matthew and John also did the same.

My brother started pouring some wine in their glasses. I was the only one drinking champagne. 

Xian sat beside me as he went back here in the dining area. He also poured himself a champagne. 

"Let's start," Red said when John and Matthew sat beside their wives. 

"You can start Ariadne," My brother said. He sipped on his wine glass before he leaned on the couch. 

"Okay," she put her wine glass on the table before she continued. "I don't know if you are aware but this island is very systemized. The Olympus which is the head of everything in this island, has always been active with events. Those events are done for the sake of the businesses of the sub-organizations," she started.

"The four of us, Inigo, Red, Angel, and I have planned about the upcoming tournament," she continued.

"They will be joining the tournament?" Heracle suddenly butt in. "I'm sorry. I was a bit shocked," she said. Ariadne just nodded and continued. 

"The tournament is done annually, it's like the Battlefield but this time you'll be on a real battlefield. It's compulsory and every sub-organizations are expected to join the tournament," She paused a bit before she continued. "There are three categories inside the tournament and the head or the ruler of each organization are the who would submit the names of the candidate that will join of which category they were chosen for,"

"Then what's in it for us?" Jasmine asked after Ariadne explained about the tournament.

"The tournament will determine the hierarchy of sub-organizations." Ariadne answered

"We have always been tied with the Knossos," Elissa said.

"It would be nice if we will be able to beat them," Heracle said. 

"And if we beat them what will happen?" Nicole asked this time. 

"Leverage," I answered. 

"Leverage?" Shyna.

"We cannot win on something without leverage," Their brows furrowed. 

"If we wanted to badly eliminate them, we need to have leverage to do that." My brother continued for me. 

"Wait," Elissa interfered. "As much as I want to agree with you eliminating the Knossos, it's not possible. We cannot touch them," She pointed out.

"So we need to make them touch us first," Hector also joined the conversation. 

"And the tournament will serve as the bait to provoke them," Mnemosyne continued for Hector. 

I raised my champagne glass to the both of them.

"How can we be sure that they will be provoked?" John asked. 

"That's a good question," Alyana 

"I've already thought of that," I said.

Of course, I have already thought of possible holes in our plan. 

"We will be using his anger towards us," Red continued for me. 

"His only reason for doing this is revenge," My brother said. He leaned forward and continued. "Seeing the people excelling when they supposed to go down will only fuel an already raging fire,"

They all agreed to our plan. Ariadne and her friends went home around ten in the evening. 

Xian and I were already in our room. Xian is in the bathroom, showering. 

I took out my phone and dialed Michael's number

Michael....

[Hey, missed us already?] Bungad sakin ni Michael. I can't help but to roll my eyes. 

"No. Where's Margarett? I need to talk to the two of you," Diretsong sabi ko. 

[She's with Aga wait I'll call her,]

"Okay," 

Narinig ko syang tinatawag si Margarett at sinabing tumawag ako. I heard Margarett saying wait and calling her father to give Aga.

[Hey,] Margarett

"Are you busy?" 

[Why is she suddenly soft?] Michael [Shut up!] Margarett

[Sorry about that. No, I'm not busy. What made you call?] Margarett

"Well for the first task," I said

[Oh sure what is it?] Margarett somehow sounded excited. 

"I want you to secretly contact the laboratories and asked for a few copies of our weapons," I said. I saw Xian in my peripheral vision. He just went out of the bathroom and he's drying his hair with a white towel. 

[and?] Margarett.

Xian mouthed if it was Margarett and I nodded. 

"Clone them as many as possible," Xian sat beside me and placed his ear next to my phone and my face. He was trying to listen to our conversation. I pulled the phone away and put Margarett and Michael on speaker. 

[Is that it?]

"As of now, yes." I answered. 

[Alright, I'll look into that.]

"Thank you Margarett and Michael,"

[No please. Don't thank us,] Margarett [Yes it's our duty too,] Michael

"Please say hi to Aga for me," Xian suddenly joined. 

[I will. I will. Update us when something happens,] Michael. 

After Margarett rerun the task, we ended the call. 

"You smell good baby," Xian said as he hugged me. "What's wrong? Is there something that bothers you?" He asked as he rested his chin on my shoulder.

"I'm just tired," I said and slouched. "I just can't wait to end this. We have plans that we couldn't do as we are stuck on this island," I said while looking at my engagement ring. "I want to marry you na," I said as I stared at Xian's eyes.

"Me too baby. I can't wait to call you my wife," He said and sighed. 

"And to call you my husband," I also said. 

"We'll get through this and we'll get married," He said and kissed my cheek. 

"We will," 

I turned my head around to kiss his lips. 

It just feels good to have someone who will understand you and where you're coming from. 

It feels good and right to have Xian always with me.
