DEA
My eyes widened in shock before I shoved him away with all of me but it’s like pushing at a boulder that would not budge.
I bit his mouth but it only opened mine to his giving me a taste of his blood. My eyes dilated when a surge of energy ran through me.
For some strange reason, his blood doesn’t taste metallic like when I accidentally swallowed mine when I cut my gums before.
In fact, his tasted like honey.
The thought horrified me even more because how can I think that his freaking blood tasted sweet?
I must be going crazy!
Help! I screamed in my head when he angled my chin and kissed me wildly, sucking my tongue and hungrily tasting every corner of my mouth, his blood dripping down my chin.
Yes, I was definitely going mad because why do I find myself melting into his arms wanting his blood like an aphrodisiac that I just discovered.
“Oh, I know that you just missed the taste of my blood, my luna.”
And as if the horrors of tonight aren't enough, he bit his tongue so I could drink more of his blood.
“There isn’t a time when you left my mind. You are always in my mind every hour that passes, every agonizing day, year, decade, and century,” he whispered against my ear, his tongue gliding down the delicate skin between my neck and shoulder smearing it with the mix of his blood and our saliva.
I don’t know what he’s talking about. My knees are shaking knowing that I’m the most helpless woman against this huge tall man towering over me.
He hoisted me up pinning me back to the wall and the next thing I knew, he was kissing me again thoroughly.
“Come on. Open your mouth for me, Maria.”
I obliged, closing my eyes in daze and opening my mouth inviting him to explore every crevice.
I’ve been kissed before. I’ve been held tightly by men before but this experience doesn’t come close anywhere to them.
I felt him smile between my lips.
“I know you miss me too, my luna.”
Hearing that, I gasped and pushed him away, thanking the heavens that he let me go before covering my mouth with both of my hands.
What am I doing? Why did I let him kiss me? Why did I let him seduce me?
“My love, why are you afraid of me? Don’t fight it, Maria. I am your alpha. You are my mate. We are bound to be with each other forever!”
He took a step wanting to reach for me again but before he could touch me, my hand flew into his face for a resounding slap.
“f**k you!” I wailed as fresh hot tears welled in my eyes.
I am angry at him for harassing me but I am more than angry at myself for even responding to the kisses of a total stranger.
The man was frozen in his spot seeing the tears threatening to fall.
“Mo beathea, since when did you learn how to curse?”
“Goodness! They are especially made for people like you! Asshole!”
I fought my tears from not falling but I failed myself. They cascaded down my face while I pointed my trembling fingers at him. “I may be working in a bar and wearing these skimpy clothes for a waitress but I deserve the same respect as anyone else.”
My chest is heaving and my vision is blocked by tears but that did not deter me from hurling all of my words at him.
“You may be f*****g loaded wasting his money on clubs and girls but that doesn’t give you the f*****g right to do anything you want!”
I hastily wiped my lips as if disgusted by the kiss earlier.
“My luna…”
He tried to take a step but stopped the second he saw the fire in my eyes. He looked stricken staring down at his own hands and then back to my face as if it’s only now that dawned in him the kind of mess that he did.
“Forgive me for being too rough on you but I just really miss you. It has been a grueling half a century of waiting and searching endlessly for you. Please, forgive me for being so rude. It’s just that I can’t help myself. I miss you so much, my luna. My love…”
“How can I know someone as barbaric as you?!” I cut him off seeing that it has been more than ten minutes that I was away from my post so they should be looking for me now. “I do not know anyone who has cannibalistic tendencies!"
I saw a sharp pain cross his eyes as his jaws ticked. Fear enveloped me but the thought that the security must have been looking for me is enough for me to gain my confidence.
“How dare you sexually harass me? How dare you assume that I am the woman you have been searching for? For all I know, this is just your usual tactics to lure your victims! Wait! Are you my stalker?!”
I narrowed my eyes on him. He could be the man that has made me suffer every night of nightmares.
His face instantly hardened into a manifestation of danger. His red eyes returned, making me gasp inwardly at the supernatural occurrence.
“You have a stalker? Mo bheatha, tell me who this man is?! I am going to tear him into pieces and feed him to the hyenas! How dare he hurt you?!”
I chuckled dryly. This one must have been high from all the alcohol he consumed. “Look here, mister. You should have gone home if you can’t handle your alcohol because you are going to regret it today.”
I took my phone and waved it in the air trying to have that intimidating aura on me. He needs to see that I am fierce and not meek so he won’t think of taking advantage of me again. “I’m calling the police! I swear I’m not kidding!”
“You can call anyone you want, my luna.” He fished out his phone from his pocket and handed it to me. “Here, you can even use my phone.”
I gasped in disbelief. “Aren’t you afraid?”
He just shrugged, his eyes were busy staring at my face in awe as if memorizing every part of it. “They should be afraid of me.”
“You aren’t scared of the police or the authorities. Aren’t you afraid of anything?”
He looked at me, intently like he’s gazing right into my soul. “I’m afraid to lose you again, my luna. I’m afraid to touch you and confirm that you are just another fragment of my imagination.”
I stared back at his face and noticed a prominent scar right below his eyes that didn't look like it came from any wound or injury.
“What is happening here?” A familiar voice interrupted up from our back.
“Brad!” I gasped in relief seeing the head of security and a former war veteran who happened to be one of the few friends I got in the diner.
“Help me!” I squeaked when the man snatched my waist to hold me firmly in place.
“Stay out of here!” the man sneered, no not sneered. He literally let out a growl before standing between me and Brad, his huge body trapping me behind him. “Do not step any closer! This is between me and my luna.”
“Luna?” Brad threw me a quizzical look.
“He’s gone crazy! Brad, please save me! I don’t know him! Call the police!”
“Mo bheatha, even the police cannot do anything to me,” he said with a tinge of amusement in his voice.
Brad took out his g*n and aimed it on the man’s head.
“Let her go, young man. I’m licensed to kill anyone. Let her go before I empty all my bullets into your head! I’m counting to three. If you don’t let her go by three, then I am going to drill these bullets into you!”
“I said do not interrupt me with my luna!” he snarled, his fangs growing right before my very eyes.
The place is dimly lit, but I swear, my eyes are still working enough to see those fangs come out!
My mouth fell open and my eyes widened. Who is this man? Is he even human?
My knees wobbled but he quickly supported my back, the contact making me shiver.
“P-Please…” I sobbed when I met his eyes. “Please, just let me go. I am just peacefully working. Why are you doing this to me?”
To my great surprise, his eyes softened. There was even a hint of guilt on them if what I am seeing is real.
“I know that I startled you now and I’m sorry, Maria. I’m so sorry, my love.”
“I don’t want to see you again. Please, don’t appear in front of me again.”
“It’s not for you to decide what will happen, my luna. You’re mine and I will claim you. I will not let any man,” He sniffed me again and snorted disapprovingly at the smell. “get near you again.”
He pulled me in and kissed my head.
Very slowly, he eased his grip on me. I immediately ran from him and straight into Brad. The scene made the man clenched his hands as he squinted his eyes darkly at Brad.
He disappeared into the darkness, his bright red eyes turning back into blue glinting in the shadow.
“Who is that, Dea? He seemed to really know you,” Brad gathered me into his arms, comforting me.
“I don’t know,” I whispered, shuddering at the thought of seeing him again. “I don’t really know him at all!”
“That man is going to come for you again.”
It’s not a prediction. It’s a simple statement of truth.
“Dea, be careful of that man. He is dangerous. I can tell. There is something sinister around him.”
I released a sigh admitting that he was right. “I know that is why I really have to resign as soon as possible.”
