Mando's vengeance

Staring at his eyes feels like it's hypnotizing me. All I want is to stare. Those deep greyish eyes make it hard for me to resist.

He stopped gazing at me when the girl beside him whispered something in his ears.

I was about to read the first page when I heard a loud bang from the outside.

What was that?

Out of curiosity, I ran away from the library. I ran as fast as I could.

And the moment I stepped on the ground outside the school, a cold sensation shivers through my skin.

This is not happening.

The guy from the mall is in front of our school with a bunch of guys and he's staring at me.

They have weapons.

That drunk man from the mall was holding a gun while the others have knives.

I'm starting to be scared.

I know he's here because of me.

I'm panicking inside.

I watched the other students, as well as teachers, came to see the commotion outside. I am observing their reactions but they just standing over the hallway and emotionlessly staring back at the unwanted visitor.

Aren't they scared? For Christ Sake, they have weapons. one wrong move and they can kill us.

Ms. Cara suddenly approaches the visitors and asks them a question.

"What are you doing here? she said. "What's with the weapons?" she spoke up.

The guy beside the drunk man yesterday spoke.

"Our leader here, Mando is looking for a girl who has arrears with him. He met her yesterday in the Mall but she ran away after she punched him," the guy declared.

So, his name is Mando?

And what arrears? Am I the one who has arrears when he's the one who started it?

what the heck?

"I came here for my vengeance, " Mando said.

"Who are you talking about?" Ms. Cara questioned Mando.

Mando looked in my direction then point his finger towards me.

I Froze.

Ms. Cara looked at me and smiled. A smile that makes me calm. Through that smile, it looks like she is telling me not to worry.

Then Ms. Cara looked at Mando again.

"I'm sorry but you can't take any of our students, " she mumbled.

Mando's face turns into a scowl. His fists clasped because of anger.

"And who are you to stop me? he angrily burst. "Why do you have to care if I take that woman?" he then asked.

"Because she's mine, " Maldix said out of nowhere.

Where is he?

I turned my head towards the other side of the park and there I saw Maldix with his group walking in Mando's direction.

He looked at me first but it's just a quick peek.

Mando grinned. "So, here comes the knight and shining armor of this slut. You also have arrears with me and you're going to pay for it, " he arrogantly said.

"Don't call her slut, asshole. he mumbled. "You are the one who hurt her yesterday and she's the one who should be mad at you not the other way around, " he calmly said.

Mando became furious and then attacked Maldix. But Maldix fast reflexes avoided the attack. Mando loaded his gun with some bullets and pointed it towards Maldix's head.

I gasp because of the tense of the commotion but the students and the teachers are still the same. Watching emotionlessly as if they are just watching a child's game.

Mando laughed. "Do you think you can beat me right now? You already have your luck yesterday but it's over now. Any last words? " he told to Maldix.

But Maldix grinned. "Go on and try me. Why don't we make a deal? if I beat you, I don't want to see your face ever again and you have to stop frightening the girl, " he explained.

"But, what if I beat you?" Mando asked confidently.

Maldix sigh. "I'll give her to you, " he replied.

What!?

I shouted. "Are you out of your mind? I said to Maldix. "You know what will happen if you gave me to him, " I added and began to cry while shaking my head.

No! I don't want to be with that guy.

I'm scared for my life. How could he just give me to some jerks?

He looked at me again.

"It was just a deal but rest assured that he can't beat me because I won't let him, okay? " Maldix said then grinned.

"What- " Mando didn't finish his words when Maldix hit his chest and that made him knock over.

Mando angrily tooted his friends to attacked Maldix. All in all, the attackers are fifteen people. They attacked Maldix at the same time. Though Maldix is strong, it looks like he's holding himself to fight the aggressors. Three of them hit maldix with their knives though it's not a serious wound, it still bleeding.

The aggressors will attack Maldix again when his friends protected him. They battled the attackers and knocked them all out.

Why didn't they attack the aggressors right away? They just waited for Maldix to have wounds before defending him.

Now, it's just Mando, and panic was expressed on his face. He couldn't imagine that his friends have no match with Maldix friends.

Five against fifteen, how could they beat them all?

Then he faces Maldix. With all of his courage, he attacked him but Maldix decided to end the fight. He dodges Mando's attacks and beat him until he couldn't stand anymore.

"Stop! You succeeded, " Mando said vulnerable.

Maldix strode into Mando's chest while leaving him a warning.

"Don't even dare to show your face here again, understand? Leave Ara alone or else, I'll destroy you without mercy, " Maldix warned him.

Then she let Mando go. Mando ran away in fear while leaving his friends behind.

I can't believe it. He saves me again.

I sigh because of the relief. I thought it would be my demise.

I was facing the ground when a pair of shoes caught my attention. I looked at the owner of those shoes.

It was Maldix.

He holds my face and smirked.

"I'll never give you to anyone, promise, " he confessed while wiping my tears.

I just nodded my hand and whisper the word 'Thank You.

"Ok, students you can go home now. I will hold a conference with all your teachers and the school staff's about this incident, " Ms. Cara announced.

The students bowed to her then left the hallway to grab their belongings.

I looked at Maldix again just to see that his still staring at me.

"I'll walk you home again to make sure that he won't bother you anymore, " he said.

I nodded in agreement while he said something to his friends and they all left.

We were walking slowly because I don't want his wounds to get worse.

I should help him with his wounds. He gets all of this because of me. It's my responsibility to treat him.

"I'll go ahead, " he said when we reached the front door of the Picks House.

"Wait, please come inside, " I hesitantly told.

He looked stunned. "Why?" he asked.

"I'll give your wounds a medication. I mumbled. "I think it's my fault why you got all of those wounds so let me treat you, " I explained.

He giggled. "Yeah, it's your fault, " he agreed.

My face turns into a grimace.

"I'm sorry, " I let out.

He laughed again. "Just joking, " he reacted.

I just smiled and walk towards the door. We entered and went up to my room.

"Please sit down, " I said while pointing at the bed.

"Yes, Ma'am, " Maldix said jokingly.

I opened my cabinet and grabbed my first aid kit. I always have a first aid kit wherever I go just for emergencies.

I placed them beside Maldix. He's just watching all my actions.

I settled beside him and glanced at his wounds. He has wounds in his arms, thighs, and face.

I sighed again. I still feel guilty about the incident.

I put a little drop of betadine on a cotton ball and then place it on the wounds on his arm. I'm cleaning it so it won't get infected.

After cleaning the wound, I placed a bandage on it. I did the same on his thigh. Now, it's time for the wound in his face.

I grabbed a new cotton ball and put some medicine in it then move toward Maldix's face.

It was too late when I realized that our face is too close to each other.

"I-I'm gonna clean the wound here, is it okay? " I asked.

"Do what you have to do, " he answered.

He's just staring at my face while I'm treating his wound.

"Thank you for saving me again, " I started to talk to disregard the awkwardness I feel inside me.

"It's okay, but can you promise me one thing? " he said after.

"What is it? " I curiously asked.

He sighed. "Can you promise me not to get involved in a fight again? " he murmured.

The confusion was registered on my face.

"Why?" I raised a question.

"Because I can't promise you that I'll always be around you to save you when you need me, Ara, " he sadly declared.

Is he leaving?

"I'll try, " I just responded.

"Please, avoid getting into trouble because I don't want to see you get hurt, " he said in a normal tone but sounds so sweet for me.

I just nodded because I don't know what to say.

I'm done cleaning and treating his wounds so now I'm putting the meds inside my first aid kit again.

"It's six in the evening, are you hungry? " I asked him. He is now resting in my bed.

"Ah, yeah, " he declared.

"What do you want to eat? " I asked him again.

"Anything, " he replied.

I told him that I'll go downstairs to cook some food. In the kitchen, I saw Maya cooking some omelets and a soup.

So approached and greeted her.

"Hi, " I let out.

She gazed at me.

"Oh, Hi, are you hungry? it's almost ready, " she said while stirring the soup that she's making.

"Ah, yeah, and also my friend is upstairs. He's in my room exactly. is it okay? " I asked her. It's her house after all.

"Sure, I don't mind but can I ask why? " she asked respectfully.

"There was an incident earlier at our school and it was the guy I met yesterday which I tried to escape with because he's a maniac. he came to get me and take vengeance because I punched him, "I started to explain.

she nodded her head. "And then, what happened? " she asked.

"Maldix came to save me again but ended up getting a lot of wounds and I thought it was my fault so I decided to invite him over and treat his wounds, " I said ending the story.

"Oh, good thing he saves you, " she said while teasing me

"We're just friends and I'm just thankful that he's always there when I'm in trouble, " I said again.

She giggled while handing me the tray of food.it was good for two already. I thanked her then went upstairs.

I saw Maldix sleeping comfortably in my bed. I placed the tray on my table and wake him up.

"Maldix, let's eat, " I silently whispering on his face.

He opened his eyes and smiled.

He sat down properly and so I gave him the bowl of soup. We ate the food together.

"You can take a rest, again, " I whispered.

"Can you lay beside me? " he begged.

Without saying a word, I rested on my bed beside him then he hugged me from my back.

I'm nervous!

"Don't worry, I won't do anything, " he chuckled.

I turned red because of the humiliation until I fall asleep with Maldix's arm wrapped around me.

Please, tell me it's not a dream.
