Chapter 9- Her blood

A hard knock on the door broke the trance-like state they were in. Walter immediately jumped off the bed and backing away from her. “Dammit.” He runs in a blur and opens the door. “What the hell do you want Eddie?” Irritated he adjusted himself and opens the door, he silently let the doctor in. “I have news, and you won't like it,” Eddie said in a frantic voice, as Alpha Walter gnashed his teeth, he was beyond dissatisfied. “That better be good, or I'll kill you myself, friend or no friend.” The left side of his faint lip tugged upwards creating a sinister smirk on his god-like face; casting a spell of lust to eyes that dare to look his way yet sinister at the same time. Eddie was always all about business; deadlines, meetings, and schedules. His face was never readable like he left his emotions on the coffee table before work and scooped them up on the way in. But one day Eddie turned in a way he hadn't anticipated. When his wife died he became a different person he became the blank page he liked to project and Walter was taken aback. “This is about your woman,” Eddie replied. After a moment, the corner of his mouth twitched into his cheek. It transformed him from someone cold into someone Eddie wished he knew better. Just a smirk. That's how it all began. “What about her?” Walter asked. Staring at his best friend, Eddie was a simple guy. His clothing wasn't overly fashionable or bright in color. Everything about him made him blend in as if the rain had smudged him into the sidewalk as if he was only a shadow of no importance, more boring to observe than the litter that blew in the gutters. However, it was his perfect mask. He was honed in perfect deception. He knew almost everything in the supernatural community. “Her blood has a trace Lehenengoa. It was so little but it changes her DNA makeup.” “Impossible! Lehenengoa was a myth. How is that even possible?” Alpha Walter murmured. It wasn't a secret between Alpha's that Lehenengoa bloodline was the most sought blood on the entire supernatural community. Her bloodline holds the most powerful bloodline of Vampyre. Though Vampyre and Werewolves have a treaty, still with the Lehenengoa everything could change and he wasn't looking forward to that changes. “Well, that's what I found out. She works at the Vergel Vutlers Research Lab. And not to mention her co-research colleague were all vampyre. Especially her boss, the infamous Dr. Ruby Lobe.” “Dammit! I thought Dr. Vivian works in the hospital?” Walter asked. “Yes, but on the weekends she works for Dr. Ruby.” “How did she acquire the Lehenengoa blood?” “Well, as per my investigation, a peculiar blood sample was sent by Vergel Vutler himself and rumors were, it came from an ex-army human who happens to have the lehenengoa bloodline.” “Impossible!” Alpha Walter began to pace around and stopped when he smells the scent of the woman. “Vergel Vutler?” Came the voice of Dr. Vivian. The color drained out of her face as she heard the name of their Research Lab, number one founder, “... How did you know him? And Dr. Ruby Lobe?” Vivian's eyes glinted with questions and concerns. “How much do you know them? I mean truly know them?... I'm Doctor Eddie by the way.” Eddie said as he offered his hands. “Nice to meet you... Not really, please don't tell me they are werewolves as well?” “No they are not, but they are Vampyre,” came Eddie's response. “What? Seriously?” How on earth was that even possible? First a werewolf, now a vampyre? What's next? Dragon? “Yes and No, Dragon doesn't exist,” Walter mumbled. He was indeed worried about her. With the sigh, his shoulders loosened and his face lit up into the person his heart knew. “Walter, can you stop reading my mind?” “I can't help it sweet,” Walter winked, his worry can wait he thought. Vivian looked deathly pale, like her heart would stop any moment, but Walter knew the truth. That it was beating away inside her, like a constant drum. Longingly, he devoured her face with her eyes, wishing with all his being that he could reach out and brush his hand against her perfectly shaped cheekbones and caress her hair. Those moist lips waiting to be kissed. “Vergel Vutler was ancient. One of the oldest and the most feared Vampyre of all time,” Eddie interrupted. “...and Dr. Ruby?” Vivian inquired. “Yes, she was also a Vampyre.” “Unbelievable.” Vivian's jaw set, this is insane. She thought as she trailed off, “... So what's with my blood? I heard you talk about Lehenego...what?” “Lehenengoa.” Eddie corrected. He noticed her eyes, piercing through his soul, going through all the lies, the secrets, and the memories. The way Dr. Vivian looked at him was very observant. As if she was studying every single bit of him until she had a picture of him wherever she went. “Yea, that!.. Okay so, what's with my blood and Lehenengoa?” “You have a tiny amount of your blood with it, Doctor,” Walter said. For him, she was like a china ornament, and it seemed that even the gentlest caress would break her delicate form. Her breath toppled out of her soft lips like a ball of tumbleweed softly blowing through the sky. He could almost hear her mind swirl into millions of questions. “How, I never have a blood transfusion before nor...” She paused. “...wait a minute.” "What is Lehenengoa again?” “It's the first Vampyre. The daughter of Lilith and Eblis.” “I don't have any idea who they are, however, Jesus! Please tell me I'm not a vampyre and a werewolf at the same time.” “No you are not, but the Lehenengoa blood in your vein, even though for a fraction, it gave you a different DNA, and we aren't all familiar with. Though you aren't vampyre but a 100% she-wolf, yet you become something else.” Eddie explained as he continued. “... When Vergel Vutler sent the blood sample to the lab, have you... You know tasted it? Or...” “What? Are you out of your mind, why on earth would I taste it? Yuck! Do I look stupid enough to taste it, I'm a doctor for a reason...” She stopped for a second as if trying to remember something. “... But I remember some blood had dropped into my leg wound when I scraped myself from the gym. Yeah! I remember now; when I did the test with the blood from Vergel Vutler, Dr. Ruby asked me to double-check it, and she gave me a drop to check into the microscope, but I drop it in my leg. Does it count?” “Dammit! Yes, I think the single drop alters your DNA make-up.” “Please tell me, it wasn't deadly!” Ruby begged. “No it wasn't, but together with the werewolf DNA, you became the first of your kind.” “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Was this happening? Could this be what life had in store for her today? After everything else that is thrown at her now, she had to deal with this too? “You are a different hybrid.” "Seriously, just because of that single blood?” Vivian was beyond shocked. You've got to be kidding me, she thought to herself. Her body filling with adrenaline. “Yes,” Dr. Eddie asserted. “Well, does it give me the ability to fly?” A girl could dream. “Hell bloody No!” “Oww! Well, then...” No way was Vivian's luck this bad. The gods must have been playing on her face right now. “But I guess, the ability to travel time and space,” Eddie replied and offered a smile. She was a mystery. A dangerously beautiful mystery. And he knew his Alpha was smitten by her. “...what? impossible! Are you kidding me?" The sight that fled Vivian's dry lips was quiet as if her brain needed that time to process what had happened. Her eyes remained fixed on the Doctor, on the exact path of her sanity. Her awareness of Walter's presence has been her fantasies, but she turns her mind elsewhere from him as the Doctor answered. “No, I hope I am, but I'm not!” “Unbelievable! Oh God.” She scoffed.
