Where is the human?” came the anxious voice of the pack physician, the man was neat. He has charming brown eyes, handsome from the depth of his eyes to the thoughtful expressions of his voice. Yet, he had the face that stopped anyone in their tracks to admire his smile which often the cause of the hormonal teenager on his pack starting a war with each other. He had tousled dark hair, which was thick and glossy. His face was sharp and defined. His lips were pale and delicate and his nose slender and rounded. A prominent jaw curved around the strength of his neck. “What took you so long Eddie?” Came the response of his alpha. “Oh! Come on Walter, I came here as soon as the beta inform me about your woman.” How could he be such a d**k? A simple hello will do. The Walter he knew from childhood was gone ever since his younger brother went rogue. And he couldn't blame him for that but how could he be such an asshole towards everyone, towards him?” He thought to himself. “I can read your mind dickhead, remember?” Alpha Walter uttered and was annoyed by his complaint. “Oh! How could I forgot that you highness?” Taunted the doctor, he went inside the tiny bedroom where the human was in, followed by an angry Alpha who was swearing behind him, “...oh not good, this is not good. Rafael explained that she fainted and yet you panic,... but I am not expecting that.” he pointed at the human whose arm covered in a luminous purple glow. “I -I did not panic!” Walter shouts. He knew the doctor was mocking him, and he couldn't blame him, he never panics, nor he knew how to lose his demeanor however, with this woman, everything changes. How could he worry this much? He didn't even know her name yet. “Of course you did not panic!” Replied Eddie, his mockery was clear as the day, such a mess he thought. Could this be the woman who could repair their broken Alpha and turn back his humanity? He hopes she was. “Alpha Walter, what happens to her?” he asked while taking her vitals and began his usual checkup. The human was peculiar, her purple veins were now all over her body. He knew this wasn't just a simple DNA transition reaction or any kind that he knew, but he needs to do some additional and thorough checkup before giving his opinion to his worried Alpha. “He was bitten by some rogue yesterday and I found her in the middle of the woods and brought her here, ... will she be okay? What's with the bite? It was strange, she was not supposed to feel the changes yet.” “Relax, okay? Let me do my job... Wait, why is she naked, don't you have any extra clothing to offer?” “Well, ...she was wet and cold, so I took it off, Why?... Did I commit a crime for you to look at me like I killed her?” Walter blurted. He knew the doctor was an ass and his very best friend but for Eddie to look at him like he was a murderer was unbelievable. He just tasted her nonetheless, he didn't go far. He reasoned out to himself. “I did not say anything, your reasoning was creepy, but It's none of my business, but please for the love of the gods, can you get me some shirt or something? She was cold as ice.” “I'm going to change her myself, dickhead!” Walter replied. “Fine, do it yourself but make it quick, so I can continue my check-up without you tailing my every move, my sire.” Eddie mumbled and turned his back. Walter must be smitten by the human, his Alpha seems rather possessive. Is she Walter's mate? “My prayer was answered at last” he whispered. It was not a secret to their pack about his alpha's opinion of having a mate. He wasn't very keenly on looking for a Luna, and everyone was worried about his well-being. Having a Luna in the pack was like having compassion, kindness, love in a home. Without a Luna, the pack was just a pack and not a home. And if this woman was the one then he will do everything to heal her. On the way from the pack, Rafael mentioned the rogues on the border, and he guessed they were the ones who had bitten the woman. “Done,” Walter announced. “Good, I can continue my checkup now,” Eddie said and lifted an eyebrow. “No, dickhead I'm not leaving her.” Walter's nostrils flared. There is no way he will leave this woman not ever. “I thought so.” Eddie offered a smile. He knew him from inside out. After an hour of thorough checkup, both men went outside and talked about their dilemma. The morning sky has an extraordinary tinge of orange cast onto the otherwise pale gray cloud, the day promises to be like every other day, but Alpha Walter knows a storm was coming, he felt reasonably cold, and the chilling air made his thought worried all the more. “Alpha, I think we have a very unusual case with your woman. Normal werewolf transition usually incubates from two to eight weeks before signs are noticed. However, her case was peculiar, let me run a blood test and we'll see soon. For now, just make sure to give her enough liquid to keep her hydrated.” Doctor Eddie spoke with certainty. “When can you give me the result of her blood test?” “By this evening or tomorrow morning.” Alpha Walter turned his head towards his Beta and his third in command as his eyes burned with necessary sensibility. “Fine, but all of you keep this to yourself! I don't want any gossip, nor I want to hear any unwanted rumor about the human. Is that understood?” He spoke with the voice of the Alpha they knew. Cruel and terrifying. “Yes, Alpha Walter.” Came all their reply. “Josh, about the rogue, I want you to bury them immediately, we don't want the human to verge in our territory.” “Consider it done Sir.” “Good” Walter mumbled. He knew he can count on him to dispose of those rogues before the human started verging in for questions. A chill rushed through him when he considered how those supernatural assertions from the internet claim them to be a cult. The absurd claims were very far from the truth. Yet, having a community near the woods was questionable and the authority was eager to investigate. Regardless, he was a friend of the mayor and a well-known businessman of the town, so they halted their foolish investigation. “And Rafael, I need you to do some shopping for the woman necessity as discreetly as possible, can I count you for that?” “Yes, Alpha!” “Dismiss.”
