Yncse POV
11 PM.
I still remember what he said.
Urgh!! kainis! Makatulog na nga lang. Bahala na to bukas....
Kinabukasan
I checked every forms of patients, concent and records nila.
"Yncse" tawag nito sakin.
And one hour before the operation ay dapat may kinain kami or else responsibilidad namin na hindi ma-operahan sa scheduled time ang pasyente namin and deduction iyon sa sweldo and count of suspension.
"Okay then, I'll just bring some snacks and juice. Is it okay to you?" aniya.
My permission and signature is needed before delivering these to the main office.
May nag text.
From: Doc Ian
Goodmorning Dra.Hel Meet us on laboratory, we're here already. Thanks!
"Caren, let's go.
"No one knows Caren, everything is possible so let's try our best" nakangiting sagot ko.
Brain tumor ang sakit ng pasyente namin and she's 24 years old. She's young to suffer this painful disease.
To remove a brain tumor, a neurosurgeon makes an opening in the skull. This operation is called a craniotomy. Whenever possible, the surgeon attempts to remove the entire tumor. If the tumor cannot be completely removed without damaging vital brain tissue, your doctor may remove as much of the tumor as possible.
So as what I've said to Caren, it's still possible for unsuccessful surgery.
Matapos ang usapang iyon ay dumiretso na kami sa washing area para mag linis and proper sanitization before operating the patient.
"Is everyone ready?" tanong ko sa mga kasama ko sa OR.
"Yes doc" sagot naman nila.

-CHART-
Patient: Sofia Steinberg
Age: 24 years old.
Operation: Left side frontal lobe.
This tumor symptoms has difficulty of walking, problems with your sight and speech, weakness on one side of the body and changes in personality or behaving in a way that you wouldn't normally.
"Craniotomy is ready to be performed" pagbibigay alam ko sa lahat.
Caren is my assistant nurse right now and she's beside me to give me the tools that I needed. As well as the other nurses who must operate the tools ready and my anesthesiologist to look out the usage of anesthesia and monitor the patient's heart rate in the machine.
Cutting the bone flap is lifted and removed to expose the protective covering of the brain called the dura. The bone flap is safely set aside and will be replaced at the end of the surgery.
Ready to make holes of both sides.
Makakatulong ang drills to have a guide of holing the
skull.
"Dissectors"
To open the inner shield of brain I must use dissectors.
"Laser"
It can help to destroy the tumor to your brain.
"Ultrasonic Aspirators"
This devices are commonly used for resecting intracranial tumors, as they allow for internal debulking of large tumors, hereby avoiding damage to adjacent brain tissue during the dissection.
"Doc, would it blow out the blood or irrigation fluid? It's bleeding so much doctora. The patient's blood pressure is dropping too fast" ani caren.
It takes two minutes to dry the blood at successful namang nakuha ang lahat ng tumor sa ulo ng pasyente.
The minimum time of operating this kind of tumor is 3-5 hours long.
The last thing to do is to attach the titanium plates and screws in the last layer of her head in which we used to open the head for the beginning process.
The plates and screws remain permanently to support the area, and they sometimes can be felt under your skin. A drain may be placed under the skin for a couple of days to remove blood or fluid from the area.
Tinapos na namin agad and thanks it's a success. We're all worn out but it's worth it!!
Pagkalabas ko ng operation section after washing my hands ay nakita ko na agad ang guardian ng patient.
They're her parents, crying and praying.
She look helpless and worried.
I wonder how it feels to have your family in operating room. Fighting for their life.
I never experience such a tragic scenary. But I experienced the most tragic one.
My mom and dad was dead on arrival due to the car accident. I wasn't given a chance to have hope of them being alive for the second time. I wasn't given a chance to wait outside the operating room and praying for their lives. After they left in this world, I was alone in a dark place where I used to walk with my own shadow, nowhere to go. And no one to rely on.
"How is she doctora? How's my daughter?" tanong ng ama.
