"UNIQUE! UNIQUE! UNIQUE!" Amanda shouted while banging the door.
Amanda Leonora Reverizta was the wife of Gabrielle Reverizta, the chairman of Reverizta group of companies, and the mother of Unique. She was a caring, loving and strict woman. Amanda was the person who didn't give up on Unique, even though he caused so many troubles.
Amanda continued banging the door of the room of Unique. But it seems like Unique was still asleep as if he hadn't heard the loud banging of Amanda. Then she called one of the maids.
"MANANG NENA!" she called with a really loud voice.
The maid came to her from one of the rooms that she was cleaning.
"Yes, ma'am, " Manang Nena said.
"Go get the keys for Unique's room. Get it fast," Amanda commanded her.
Manang Nena went downstairs to get the keys. When she got it from one of the cabinets, she went up fast to Unique's room. She handed the keys to Amanda.
"You're not opening your door? So, I will just open the door by force," Amanda said, not really saying to anyone.
Amanda put the keys in the keyhole and opened the door immediately.
He heard a loud knock on the door and someone was calling him but he didn't care at all. He was so drunk last night that he didn't even know he got home. He heard the loud bangings again.
Arrgh. Why are they so loud? Oh my gosh, those loud knocks make my head so freaking hurt now. Ugh. I can't get up. So tired, I want to sleep all day long.
Then silence, he thought that it was over but he was wrong. He jumped out of his bed when his door flung open.
"UNIQUE REVERIZTA! WHY ARE YOU NOT ANSWERING OR OPEN THE DOOR?" her mother yelled.
Unique looked at her mother's face, it was obvious that she was really angry.
Hah. Here we go again. I will just stay silent. There is no ending to what she's going to say if I say anything. And my head is so freaking aching right now.
"ARE YOU NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING AT ALL?" Amanda yelled again.
"What is the point of me answering if you are not going to listen to me anyway?" Unique replied.
He rubbed his forehead because the headache was becoming unbearable. All he ever wanted to do was lay down and go back to sleep.
Ugh. My head, besides from the pain, is also tingling that makes me want to bang my head against the walls.
"What do you want to say anyway? I hadn't done anything for a while now, " Unique said.
"What? You haven't done anything? You must be joking, right now, " his mother replied.
"What is it? Tell me. My head is really aching right now," he replied.
"This is the problem, Unique! You think that not doing any prank to other people is good but you did this? You were so drunk last night that I might've not been surprised if you ended up at the hospital because of drunk driving!" Amanda said to him.
"What? It is not like this is the first time that I came home drunk. Why do you care? Just leave me alone, " he replied to Amanda with a grumpy face.
It is always like this anyway. Why wouldn't they leave me alone? They are just going to give themselves a headache. Nobody cares for me anyways. So, what is the point of this useless talk or rather scolding.
"UNIQUE! Why are you saying something like that?! You know that I care about your well being, " her mother said.
"Yeah, right. Should I be grateful for that?" Unique replied.
Amanda shook her head a little and heaved a big, deep sigh. Then looked at her son, who was rubbing his head.
"Look, I am worried about you. You are my son," Amanda said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you want anyways when you are banging the door?" Unique asked her.
With a defeated face, Amanda heaved another deep sigh and looked at her son.
"I was going to tell you to come home early today for a dinner gathering of our family at your uncle's house, " Amanda said.
"Why should I go there? Nobody wants me to be there anyway. Just leave me out of that dinner appointment, " he replied.
"Come on. You need to be there. When was the last time you saw your aunt and uncle?" his mother asked.
"I don't know. A long time ago. I don't really care if I saw them or not. They don't want to see me either," Unique said while still rubbing his head.
"Unique, you really need to be there tonight. Whether you like it or not, " Amanda insisted.
Unique was about to answer his mother when he saw his father standing at the door frame. His father, Gabrielle Reverizta was a man full of confidence and authority. He was also the chairman of the Reverizta group of companies. He was strict and a man of word, he would do what he said.
Gabrielle was staring at Unique with condemnation visible in his eyes. With a deep, big voice, he spoke to Unique.
"What are you going to say a moment ago?" Gabrielle asked him.
As if he was in the military, Unique sat up straight and then answered.
"I was going to say to my mother that I don't really want to be at the dinner gathering," Unique replied to his father.
His father stared at him for a long time before saying anything.
"You need to be there. You will come with us to the house of your aunt and uncle, " his father said firmly.
"Why do I have to go there anyways? What is it in me?" Unique replied.
Besides, I know that I'm just going to criticize and ridicule me if I go there. I am sick and tired of the same thing happening. And my ears are tired of hearing the same words that they always throw at me whenever there is gathering.
"And besides, are you not tired of hearing the same thing when I am present in any of the gatherings?" Unique added.
"I am but you still need to go there with us this evening, " his father said sternly.
"Dad, you can't make me go there and just accept all those words everytime? You know, when I went to every gathering of our family, you were always trying to hide your irritation when you heard the words they were saying but when we were at home, you would scold me everytime. Aren't you tired?" Unique said.
"Unique, don't say that!" Amanda yelled.
"Why? It is the truth anyways. So what is the point of me going there?" Unique said.
"The point of you going there is you are still part of this family. I put up everything that you did wrong but you still need to listen to me. You are going there with us tonight or else!" Gabrielle said with a loud voice while glaring at Unique.
"Or else what?!" Unique snapped back to his father.
"Or else, I will cut your credit cards, take your keys then lock you up at this house. The only time you will leave this place is when you go to school, " his father said with a threatening voice.
Unique was taken aback by this sudden threat coming from his father. He knows that his father will do what he just said to him if he didn't do what he was saying.
Urgh. What am I going to do? I don't want my card to be cut and locked up in this house.
"Fine, I will go tonight, " Unique said in a defeated voice.
His father didn't say anything and just walked away from his room. Then he felt his head aching, much worse before his father came, he breathed a heavy sigh and rubbed his head again.
Amanda saw her son rubbing his head again. She was so worried because he kept rubbing his head. So, she thought that his hangover was much worse than earlier.
"MANANG NENA!" Amanda yelled.
A little while later, Manang Nena walked inside of the room.
"Yes, Ma'am, " Manang Nena said.
"Go bring some medicine from the cabinet and a glass of water. Give it to Unique once you get it, " Amanda commanded her.
"Yes, ma'am. I will get it now, " Manang Nena replied.
Manang Nena left the room to get medicine for his hangover and a glass of water. Amanda turned her head to Unique who was still rubbing his head.
"Are you okay, Unique?" Amanda asked him with a worried face.
"I am alright. Can you just please leave my room already? I want to rest because my head is in pain, " Unique replied.
Amanda breathed a heavy sigh.
"Alright, I will leave. Just don't forget the dinner gathering tonight, " Amanda said with defeat.
Unique didn't answer her. Amanda started walking out of the room. Unique saw her walking away. He wondered why they were still forcing him to attend those family gatherings.
Argh. My head is killing me. I just wanted to rest, not go to that dinner. Hah. What am I supposed to do? Hah. I need to rest. I will need a lot of energy for that dinner. This is going to be a really long night for me. I just hope that I will be able to survive before I burst again.
And with those thoughts, he laid down in his messy bed.
