CHAPTER 4

I took another deep breath as I scanned my clothes scattered on my bed. Those were my casual clothes that can be worn in the party later. Since it is a beach party I am planning to wear a floral dress or whatever it is basta may pagka summer vibe. Today's mood is to wear light clothes but my clothes were mostly dark... 

I sighed again then opened another closet. Well, it is frustrating me for having such clothes but I can't find anything to wear! Medyo na-disappoint ako sa sarili ko dahil masyado akong obsessed sa dark colored clothes. Wala tuloy akong masuot for a summer get up.

I clapped my hands as I saw another closet with bunch of unused clothes mostly with light colors. Yeah. I remember I put all the clothes I don't wear that much since it were all light colored on this closet.  Di ko kasi talaga 'to binubuksan kaya hindi ko na naisip na may mga damit nga pala ako dito.

I picked up those clothes na tingin ko pwede kong isama sa pagpipilian. I also placed them in my bed.

I stared at them while thinking of what get up I should wear with them and in the end I ended up going with black high-waist shorts with white sleeveless crop top and a floral cream cardigan. I'll just partner it up with black boots.

Well... I actually can't understand myself why I am so stressed of what will I look like on the party. It's not as if there will be a contest. Yep, I'm usually get-up conscious and that's normal, but today? I know I'm exerting extra effort.

I shook my head as a thought crossed out on my mind. No way that I want to impress Jadd Anderson!

I just did a quick make up. I chose to apply nude one because I just feel like to and with my hair, I just let it all down and didn't bother to do any style on it. I only want to look simple in the party. Baka isipin pa ni Nathalie pinaghandaan ko 'yon. I know that girl that much. She'll probably pester me again about Jadd.

The party will start at 5PM but it is still past 3PM. I just chose to prepare early because I hate doing last minute routines especially when I am going to a party. Simply because I hate being late as well. I'm just the type to be on the proper and exact time.

Nathalie said someone will pick us up to drop us in the location and I could sense that we will be coming with the varsity team. Her eyes is just telling me that. She looks so excited while she was informing me. Paano, makakatabi niya iyong crush niya n'on.

Around 4:30 pa kami susunduin ng maghahatid sa amin sa location so I still have time to slack off. I went down the living area and laid down on the sofa. I opened the Wi-Fi and browsed the internet. 

Jadd Anderson Alarcon sent you a message

My eyes circled and my heart flipped as I read my notification from f*******:. I immediately tapped the notif and it opened my chatbox with Jadd. He sent it two hours ago and just told me, 'see you on my party' but it really made heart flip again. 

I started typing my reply.

Okay see you too! And happy birthday. 

I was shocked because he was offline but my message was delivered and after a second nag-online iyong status niya. At hindi lang iyon, na-seen niya kaagad iyong reply ko! Is he waiting for my reply?! That was... quick.

As we arrived at the venue, my heart was pumping abnormally making me feel uncomfortable as we get inside. I was unusually quiet while we were walking. We went here with the varsity team and they were all loud while we were on the way here. Gladly, they were not bugging me that much unlike the last time. Nathalie seemed to have noticed my discomfort because she kept on glancing at me but I tried to act like I didn't notice her worrying about me and just tried to walk normally. Buti hindi naman niya na ako tiningnan-tingnan pa.

"Good evening Ma'am and Sir, what table are you po?" The girl in the front desk asked. We were at the entrance of the resort right now. Ewan ko ba pero kinakabahan akong pumasok sa loob. Hindi normal iyong heart beat ko!

As we finally reached the main venue my lips parted in amusement. The venue was designed very well! There were many flowers serving as the decoration of the venue and chandeliers. May mga christmas lights pa. Seriously ang i********:-worthy ng venue. I really liked it. Ang ganda rin ng interior and architectural design tapos sa labas kitang kita iyong beach. Didn't know there's this kind of place near my community.

"Gladly, I brought my camera with me!" Nathalie giggled then she showed me her camera na nakasabit sa leeg niya then she started taking photos while walking. I pouted. I should've also brought my camera with me. Wala naman kasi sa isip ko na magiging ganito ka-interesting iyong lugar. Maybe my phone's camera is fine enough.

"Jadd!" I heard Iñigo exclaimed. Napatingin tuloy ako sa gawi kung saan naglalakad papalapit sa amin si Jadd. He was casually smiling. The smile I used to fascinate before.

He was wearing a white long sleeve polo and brown cargo shorts and heck, the first two buttons of his polo are open! His chest was freaking showing. Jadd Anderson looked hot what the hell.

Upon realizing the dirty thoughts enveloping my system, I shook my head and breathed out. What I was thinking? Hindi maganda ito! I came here just to enjoy the party, only that, not to drool over my ex crush na inignore lang ang beauty ko noong high school days namin!

"Hoy Miya! Bilisan mo d'yan!"

If Nathalie didn't call me I wouldn't notice that they were already far from me. Grabe. Masyado akong pre-occupied. Hindi ko man lang napansin na napag iwanan na pala ako.

The party is making me anxious so I decided to just drink alcohol so I'll kinda get hyped up. I needed this to get with myself and make myself party. Ang hirap kasi na makihalobilo sa mga taong nandito dahil mostly hindi ko talaga kilala tapos yung iba nakakasalubong ko lang sa school and never had a conversation with them.

Narealized ko nga bigla na masyado talaga akong pili sa kaibigan ayan tuloy nahihirapan akong makipagsocialize kahit na may mga schoolmates naman ako dito.

I was currently alone in our table dahil nakikipagparty sila Nath sa iba. They were either dancing on the dance floor or they were at the beach. The party's really crowded kaya masaya rin. They're having lots of fun and just by watching people have fun entertains me na rin. I really should have brought my camera because people here were just happy and this kind of moment should be captured.

I was already tipsy but I can still manage myself so I'm still drinking until someone came and he was smiling at me. Pinanliitan ko siya ng mata para marecognize siya and my lips parted as soon as I realized who he was.

"Primo!" I said with excitement and covered him with my arms. Wow! Didn't think he'll come here! Bestfriends nga pala sila ni Jadd! I should have thought of it!

"You're drinking alone?" He said as the hug broke.

"Obviously?" I said trying to be sarcastic. He chuckled at my response.

"You shouldn't be drinking alone. And look, you're already drunk," he commented. Muntik na kasi akong ma-out of balance but he managed to hold me before I completely fell.

I thanked him. "No, it's fine. I can manage myself so don't worry."

He shrugged his shoulders at me and he was still wearing his grin. "Stubborn. I guess I'll just stay here with you. Wala rin naman akong makausap dito."

I creased my forehead at him. "Where's Jadd then? You haven't talked to him?"

"Yeah. He was still busy but we already met."

I just nodded at him. Primo's also our schoolmate during high school. We were really not close, sakto lang. It happened na part din siya ng Journalists Club kaya magkakilala kami at nakakapag usap kami noon. Buti nandito siya so I have someone to talk to na aside from Nathalie. Nabo-bored na kasi talaga ako rito. If it wasn't for the alcohol drinks I would be sleeping instead somewhere here nalang siguro because of boredom.

"Mind if I ask you to join me in the dance floor?" He offered. Pinanliitan ko siya ng mata habang nagdedecide if I should go with him. I'm really tipsy. Can I handle it? Nahihilo na kasi talaga ako.

"I might throw up."

He just smiled at me and still offered his hand to me. "Just tell me kapag feel mo magsusuka ka then we'll stop. Sometimes, it's better to dance when you're tipsy. Mas enjoy," he said trying to assure that I'll be fine if we dance.

I looked at the people dancing freely at the dance floor. The music was hyped up and it was getting me into the beat so in the end I agreed and went with him at the dance floor. I let him hold my waist because I know he just want to guide me.

We danced there like there's no tomorrow. It felt good. Parang sa oras na 'yon wala akong problema. Tanging iyong musika at magpakasaya lang ang pumapasok sa isipan ko at wala ng iba.

"Miya!" I heard Nathalie called me. She was grooving while she's heading to us. When she reached our position she went near my face and whispered, "who's this guy? He looks familiar... but who is he?" She asked almost shouting at me because of the loud music.

"Primo. Org-mate ko noong HS and he's one of Jadd's best friend before," I answered trying to straighten my voice against the effect of the alcohol in me.

"Hmm. Okay. He looks hot but you should stop dancing with him na." Nilingon ko siya ng nagtataka. I was raising my right eyebrow at her.

"And why would I?" I said sounding like that protesting.

"Because it doesn't look appropriate?"

My forehead creased even more. What's inappropriate with dancing with your old schoolmate?

"Why? Wala naman siyang ginagawang masaka sakin at lalong wala kaming kasamang ginagawa... Nagsasayaw lang kami..." Saad ko habang nakahawak ako sa ulo ko. The alcohol is hitting me more. Medyo nagewang gewang na rin ako sa pagsayaw. Ugh.

"Just listen to me," she said and smiled at me na halos parang mapupunit na iyong labi niya. I mentally tapped my forehead. She's weird!

And before I even roll my eyes at Nath, Jadd suddenly appeared and greeted Primo.

"Sa wakas! Kanina pa kita hinihintay," ani Primo kay Jad na tumawa lang kay Primo tapos tiningnan ako.

"Happy birthday!" I greeted him. I was about to put my hands on his shoulder but I tripped so I almost fell at the floor but Primo was able to caught me. "Ugh. Thanks!" I said and giggled then I tried to stand straight again. I looked at Jad. "Happy birthdaaay!" I said still giggling and finally I successfully landed my hands on his shoulder. Jad looked like he just lost his soul but I ignored it.

"Yeah. Thanks," he said sounding awkward and cute?

"Miya, tama na nga 'yan," awat ni Nat tapos inilayo ako ng konti kay Jad.

"Ugh. Why? Sasayaw pa kami ni Primo," reklamo ko tapos pumeywang ako sakaniya. Primo chuckled at me. 

Well naikot na iyong paningin ko but I'm just starting to enjoy the party! She can't shut me out!

"Ang kulit. Lasing ka na kaya tara na sa kotse," she said and tried to grab my arms but I refused tapos tumabi ako kay Primo.

"C'mmon Primo. They're so KJ!"

"No, Miya. You should really take a rest. Nakapagsayaw ka naman na. That's enough. Lasing ka nga," Primo said that made me rolled my eyes. Alam ko namang lasing na talaga ako because while we were dancing nainom pa rin ako ng alak but seriously I can still manage! Ugh. Hindi ko pa naman nararamdamang nag-aalboroto iyong tyan ko.

"Whatever," I surrendered because they really look so serious about making me rest. "But still happy birthdaaay!" I said, giggling, as I face Jadd once again and pinched his cheeks. He looked shock when I touched him. Ang gwapo!
