The Only Princess of Ember World

CHAPTER 3

“You know what, I just wish your grandmother didn’t die that day. I am so tired guarding you. If I have a choice, I might leave you right away. You are not deserving to call a princess.”

It’s already midnight but Princess Erythea is still wide awake. She can’t sleep and those painful words are still playing inside her head. When she came back from the training ground, she didn’t saw her guardian. Being a guardian, Guardian Chase is allowed to have his own life twice a year. It means that they are given to have two days off every year from being a guardian. As far as Princess Erythea remembers, this is the first time that his guardian took a day off. She didn’t saw his guardian the whole day. She even eat her dinner alone. The palace have long dining table, yet she is the only one sat and ate there. Without her guardian, she feels more alone and more sad. Her parents were still not home and she don’t know if they will come home tonight or they will spend the night on the other kingdoms.

Tears were started to fall from her eyes. She expect that her guardian will become happy if she shows her capability of her fire. But guardian Chase got mad and he even took a day off so that he cannot see her for a while. Because of what happened, Princess Erythea thinks of a plan that her guardian and even her parents will get mad at her.

She started to check her walk in closet. She only have gowns that if someone saw her wearing that, they will think that she is the princess. She took one of her gown and tried to redesign it. She removed all the beads and gems. She cut the lower part of the gown and make it short. She removed all the traces of being a royal and change it to a normal dress. She finished redesigning around 4 o’clock in the morning.

After taking several deep sigh, the princess started to fix herself. She removed all her jewelries except her bracelet that guardian Chase gave. She tied her long hair and make it in a bun. Being a princess, she is not allowed to tie her hair until she becomes married but today, she will break all the rules to become an ordinary people of Ember world. With the training alone, she learned on how to teleport to some places. She learned it when she accidentally teleported from her room to the dining hall. Luckily, no one saw her from her teleportation. From that day, she trained herself to teleport to places she wants to go.

After checking herself to the mirror several times, she took a deep sigh. She closed her eyes and think of a place outside the palace.

“Hey! Watch out!”

Princess Erythea heard a not familiar voice so she slowly opened her eyes. She was shocked when a ball was coming on her way. She didn’t have a chance to avoid the ball. She was hit by the ball in her cheeks.

“Ouch!”

“I told you to watch out!”

She looked at the guy who took the ball. He is tall, dark-skin and have green eyes. She look around and she’s not familiar with the place. She can’t help but to smile because she is now outside the palace.

“I think you’re okay. You’re smiling.” The guy is confused with the girl. He saw the cheeks of the girl and it was so red.

“May I ask a question?”

“You’re already asking Miss.”

“Where am I?”

“I think you’re not a residence of Terra Kingdom. Who are you?”

“Wait. What? I’m in Terra Kingdom?” Princess Erythea was really shocked. She didn’t plan to go outside of Ignis Kingdom. She just want to go outside the palace.

“I said who are you?”

“Prince James, we need to go back to palace.” Another guy was approaching but Princess Erythea was just staring on the first guy. He was just called prince so it means that the guy in front of her is the prince of Terra Kingdom.

Prince James was roaming outside the palace looking for an empty space wherein he can play basketball. He was playing together with his guardian when suddenly a girl appeared and was hit by the ball. He realized that the girl is not a resident of his kingdom because of her accent. Since he is a prince, he is allowed to go outside the palace and be familiarize on their kingdom. And based on his observation, he knew that this girl is not living in Terra kingdom.

“Prince James.” His guardian called him again because he was just staring on the girl. Based on the dress she’s wearing, she is just a poor girl living in the Ember world. What he can’t understand is how she’s able to enter the Terra Kingdom. All of the kingdom in Ember world is full of security. Not everyone can enter on one’s kingdom.

“Guardian Cyrus, she is not a resident of Terra Kingdom. We need to interrogate her.”

“Miss, can you show us your visitation ID?”

Princess Erythea don’t know what to do. She didn’t even know what visitation ID is. She feels terrified because the prince and his guardian was staring at her. She simply look around and find a place where she can run and hide. After finding a spot, she quickly run as fast as she can.

Guardian Cyrus was about to chase her but Prince James stopped him. He pick the bracelet of the girl on the ground.

“Prince James, she might an intruder.”

“Let her be. I know we will meet her again soon.”

Prince James take a look of the bracelet. It is a simple bracelet with a jade on it. The gem has an initial A.L on it. He smiles as he remember the girl. He can’t deny that the girl is beautiful. The girl might come from Ignis Kingdom because of the jade on her bracelet. He become curious about the girl and he’s looking forward to meet again the girl.

“Guardian Cyrus, I want to know all of the girls from Ignis Kingdom who visited on our kingdom.”

“Yes Prince James.”

Princess Erythea was still running and when she realized that no one was chasing her, she stopped and took a deep breath. She looked around and it’s a good thing that no one is around. She closed her eyes and think of her bedroom. When she opened her eyes, she is now on her place.

“Princess Erythea, it’s time for your breakfast.” She heard guardian Chase on her door. She took a deep breath and started to remove her clothes.

“Give me a minute.”, she replied.

“Please hurry. We have tons of lessons today.”

“Okay.”

She successfully went outside of the palace but it was ruined by the prince of Terra Kingdom. She started to feel irritated when she remembered that guy.

She shook her head and went on her bathroom to take a shower. After taking a shower, she dressed like a princess and wore her jewelries. Until she realized that she’s not wearing her bracelet. She quickly finds her bracelet but nowhere to found. As far as she remembers, she ‘s wearing it a while ago. Maybe it fell when she’s running away from the prince of Terra Kingdom. She needs to come back and find her bracelet.

“Princess Erythea.” Guardian Chase knocked on her door.

“I’m coming.” She went on her door and opened it. She saw her guardian with a serious look. She didn’t utter any words and just went out silently of her bedroom.

“Princess, no one can know that you can control your fire, right?” Guardian Chase was whispering because it can cause chaos if someone hears it.

“I know.”

“And you need to stop your self training. You need to follow the tradition Princess Erythea.”

She didn’t answer. Guardian Chase didn’t know that his princess already break the tradition. She went outside of the kingdom and the prince of Terra kingdom already saw her face.

“Princess Erythea, please answer me.”

“Fine.”, she angrily answered.

But she remembered something so she face her guardian.

“And one more thing, maybe I will not live that long so while I am still breathing, just bare with me. Soon enough, you can have a new royalty to guide and protect.” After saying those, she went on the dining and started to eat her breakfast.

She don’t want to sound bitter but it just came out of her mouth. She stills in pain because of what her guardian said yesterday. Soon, she will changed the tradition and she will not allow the next generation of princesses to experience the struggles she’s experiencing now.

“Princess, I’m sorry for what I’ve said yesterday. I was just mad.” Guardian Chase felt guilty because of what he said. He knows that his princess was hurt and he left her yesterday. He didn’t mean to hurt his princess. He just left yesterday to take some break and to calm himself. If he just can take back his words, he will do it. He don’t want to hurt his princess.
