5 - THE DESTINY OF THE PRINCESS

Because of the incident, Princess Erythea suddenly becomes cold towards her guardian. From the cheerful princess, she becomes the coldest. She can't forget the things that her guardian said to her.
On the other hand, Guardian Chase doesn't know what to do. He can't read the mind of the princess. What he only knows is that the words he said are the main reason why the princess is acting like this.
"Good morning Princess Erysthea," Guardian Chase greeted as the girl went to their study room.
It was just a normal study room that was filled with different books. On the corner, there was a simple chair and table wherein the princess took her lessons. There was also a big window where the princess can see the beautiful garden of the palace and she will just look there when she was tired or stressed about studying.
Princess Erysthea doesn't even take a glance at her guardian, instead, she just sits directly on her chair.
"What is my lesson today?" the princess asked emotionlessly.
Guardian Chase handed a pile of papers. "It's about your destiny that you should be aware of."
"What destiny?"
"You know that the three kingdoms have princes, right?"
The princess nodded while looking at the papers. It's a personal file about the three princes with a picture on it. She knew the prince of Terra Kingdom since he was the one who saw her yesterday. But the other two princes, it's the first time she sees their faces of them.
"One of them will be your husband," Guardian Chase directly said to the princess.
"What?" Princess Erysthea burst in disbelief.
"Yes. It's a tradition since you're the only princess living in this world. When you're at the right age, there will be a competition wherein the three princes will take on different challenges. And whoever will be the winner, then he will be your husband."
The princess sighed in disbelief. She was locked in this palace and then, the competition will choose who will be her husband. It's annoying since she doesn't have the right to love someone and marry her true love just because of the tradition. It's like her whole life was dependent on tradition.
"So what will I do with their personal profile?" she boringly asked instead of saying what her mind is thinking now.
"You need to study each of them. You need to familiarize yourself with their basic information so when you meet them, you will know how to interact with them," her guardian answered.
The princess nodded and take a look again at the pictures of the three princes. "Is this my lesson for today?"
"Yes, Princess, then tomorrow, I will ask you about them so you need to study them the whole day."
"Okay then. I will do that."
Guardian Chase was a bit confused. What he's expecting is that Princess Erysthea will rant about what he said. He knows that the princess hates their tradition. He knows that she will not agree with destiny but to his surprise, she just nodded and started to read the papers.
It's weird and alarming.
