Chapter 7 - Know-it-all

Vonn's POV:

"Have you gone really crazy now, son?" I can imagine my father na umiiling habang kausap ako sa cellphone.

I got a call from him less than 30 minutes after kong magbayad ng tuition sa BFO. Malamang nag prompt sa kanya that I spent 120k. The issue was not how much I spent, but I paid for something na ang alam nila ay fully paid na.

So I told him that I have to take 2 extra subjects and the other 2 of my original subjects will be taken as a special class.

Hindi ko pa man na explain sa kanya why, he asked me the question.

"What do you mean. I am completely sane, dad." I know what his thinking.

"Umandar na naman yang pagiging stalker mo."

"Stalker?" nakangisi sa telepono kong tanong. "Me a stalker? I am not stalking anyone." Of course I am. I am certified proud stalker, stalking my queen. She will surely be surprise pagnalaman nya na we have two subjects together.

If you ask if she's going to be mad, of course she won't. She'll be pissed a little at first but hindi naman nya ako matitiis. She will just let me be after nya akong pagsabihan ng kunti. Kahit hindi nya aminin, I know she likes it when I give her all of my attention. She deserves it anyway.

I heard my dad released a deep sigh of resignation.

"Malaki ka na, I am sure you know what you are doing. Do what ever you want. As long as it does not cause us our family any problem, do as you please. But make sure, na hindi ka rin magkaka-problema sa pag-aaral mo. Because I am telling you, young man, sa oras na may binagsak ka kahit isang subject, you'll be flying to Massachusetts whether you like it or not and even if I drag you there myself. Do I make myself clear, Reign Vonn State?"

His deathly serious. Kapag ganitong tinatawag na nya kami ng kuya ko ng young man at buong pangalan, he surely means business.

"Yes, Dad. Don't worry. I promise to take my classes seriously and graduate with flying colors. Did I not prove it you before? Did I not take the second highest honor in Senior High?"

"Exactly my point. You only get second always, kasi baliw ka sa first." he retorted bago nagpaalam para bumalik na sa work nya. I'm sure his busy. Since as of now, siya lang ang parehong namamahala ng State Inc. both bank and telecommunications. At ayaw nyang maranasan namin ng kuya ko ang pagod na nararanasan nya sa pag-tatrabaho to the point na wala na siyang oras para sa family, kaya bata pa lang kami, sinabi na niya sa amin na paghahatian namin ang pamamahala sa kumpanya. And no one should covet whatever the other have. We should never view each other us competition. But we should be each others helping hand.

Huh. If only Dad know. I never settle for second. Akala nila ni mommy, na kaya ako laging second place sa mga academic awards is because I give my queen some slack. But not many know this, but she is a genius. She would only mention it as a joke some time pagnakakatuwaan, but she has and eidetic and photographic memory, she can learn and retain information as easy as a snap of a finger.

I wanted to be ahead of her in academics. There was one time in high school that she had a hard time in chemistry, and as a result I took the highest grade in 1st grading. She was disappointed with her grade and asked me to tutor her in Chemistry. And she was pouting. I so badly wanted to kiss her pouting lips right then and there. Buti na lang nakapagpigil ako.

And of course I tutored her. Tutoring her means spending extra time with her. I taught her tips and tricks to easily understand the subject. She always listen attentively as if what I am saying is the most important thing in the whole world.

And it made me so happy, I regretted it so much. The hell, she took our tutoring lessons so seriously, she overtook my grades the next grading and all the the gradings after that. And so of course, since she's on top again, I do not need to tutor her anymore.

'f*****g know it all Reign Vonn State.' If I can, I'd go back to those days and teach her wrong instead.
