A couple of hours later....
I'm back from the station and I find Keigan talking to the secretary.
I approach him and interrupts the conversation.
"Hey, Nathalie!"
'How do I react?'
Aha. Be strict.
"I think you should be working."
"I was just taking a break from your paperwork."
"Let's sit down to discuss it." we sitted.
"OK, I looked into the people connected to this case. I interrogated the victim's bandmates."
"What did you find out?"
"They all have alibies, no motives. However, they have recently fired their drummer."
"Did you interview him too?"
"Not yet. It seems that Razen Stevens kicked him out of the band. He said something like "him or me" and all of them choose Stevens. The drummer was out of the picture."
"Ano ba pinagtatalunan nila?"
"Artistic direction, the bass player said."
"Aha, OK...we have to find that guy.
'Should I compliment him? He did a good job.'
He deserves it.
"Well, I have to say, I'm impressed with what you did."
"Glad to hear it."
Chief Williams appears.
"Hello, keepers of law and order! Any results?"
"I've interrogated the ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Stein. She had a solid alibi. A lot of things point to the Pirate Ship and the owner's daughter -- Valerie."
"Valerie Martin? That family has always been a pain."
"There's also a trail leading to the former band mate, drummer Robert "Bobo" Mosley" Sabi ni Keigan.
"So, did you run a check on him?"
"Not yet, we don't know his whereabouts."
"I've had bad results with Valerie too." Sabi ko. "She is nowhere to be found. The neighbor's say she hasn't visited her apartment in days, at hindi rin niya sinasagot ang kaniyang cellphone."
"Dapat natin siyang hanapin." Sabi ni Chief.
"There's one more thing." I replied. "I checked the g*n stores. Guess who ordered a lot of guns -- the same model as the one with which the victim was murdered?"
"Who?" Chief.
"Martin Security, owned by Von Martin, Valerie's father."
"Well, that's a pretty common g*n which is used a lot. We cannot persecute him solely on that basis.."
"...but meron tayong rason na enough to invite him sa station."
"Vom "The Duke" Martin? Hmm..."
"What do you know about him, Chief?"
"Now, he's a respected businessman, but he used to work for the Old Godfather..may he forever stay in his grave.. That's why you will need a partner like Keigan to go after him."
"I beg to differ sir.."
"Exactly sir, my specialty is organized crime and this smells exactly like that.." sabi ni Keigan.
"I'm very glad to have you on my team, Keigan. Naniniwala akong may matututunan kami sayo!"
"It will be a honor, sir!"
"And more importantly, you will help our Nathalie get her life straight."
The two of them are talking like I'm not present, while I'm standing aside and listening...
"Sir, I will watch over her and make sure she doesn't work one bit too much." Keigan.
"She should find a guy. Love says, I say."
"Luckily sir, I'm the right man for the job!"
'They are talking like I'm not over here. I have to do something about this!'
Aalis nalang ako.
'Obviously you guys don't need me to solve all my problems. Bye!'
