Pumasok ako sa office. Chief is at his desk. Standing opposite to him is Mr. Keigan Chase.

"Nathalie!"

"What's going on, Chief?"

"I believe you've met, Mr. Chase.

"Yes."

"Good to see you again, Nathalie." Sabat ni Mr. Chase.

'What do I tell him?'

Greet him politely, self. Gosh.

"Hello, Keigan." bumaling ako kay Chief. "What do you need, Chief?"

"I've been thinking about something, Nathalie. As you know, I have always taken good care of everyone na nagtatrabaho dito."

"Absolutely, sir."

"Safety and well-being of our officers are of great importance to me."

"Understandably, sir."

"I have noticed that you are overworking...weeks on end, without a day off..."

"I have taken this Sunday, but yes, it's been difficult."

"...taking the toughest cases.."

"You gave them to me, sir, but yeah, I solved them all!"

"...and doing all that alone."

"Exactly! So, I'm getting a raise?"

"Better! A partner!"

"Ano?!"

"Mr. Chase here will be working with you, sa lahat ng cases mo, simula ngayon!"

"Pero, sir...."

"He is going to watch your back at all times..."

"At all times!" seconded by Keigan.

"Bago lang si Keigan at kailangan niya ng tulong. You are perfect for that job, Nathalie."

"Sir..."

"Don't you agree, Nathalie?"

I notice a faint smile on Keigan's face.

'How should I answer?'

"Yes, sir..." sinabi ko nalang.

"OK, that's settled. Now, get out and solve some cases!"
