“Deonna, have you checked the patient I referred you?” Margaux asked me when she saw me in the nurses’ station, writing some orders on the chart.
I nodded without looking at her. “I have talked about a possible open cholecystectomy,” sagot ko. “Pero hindi ko alam kung maki-clear mo siya because of her heart condition.”
She sighed and leaned on the counter. “Hindi ko rin alam kung kakayanin ba niya ang general anesthesia. Puwede kayang i-spinal na lang iyon?”
Now I looked at her. I have never really experienced doing cholecystectomy via spinal anesthesia. “I have never tried but I’ll try to ask some senior surgeons about it,” sagot ko.
“Hindi ba pwede laparoscopic?”
I shook my head. “Malala ang adhesions ng gallbladder niya kaya hindi pwede.” It would have been good to do a lap-ch
