Chapter 3: Ruined Plan

XAVIEN'S P.O.V

"WHAT?! ZAINO'S DEAD?!" gulat kong hiyaw at napatayo sa swivel chair ko. Nandito ako sa main office ko sa Dawson Foundation matapos ang special appearance ko kanina sa Quest Academy.

Huminahon ako at napamasahe sa ulo, "Are you sure, Jared?" I calmly ask.

"It's confirm, Sir Xavien. When they run him to the hospital, he's already dead on arrival. Mrs. Mavros even got hospitalized because of shock. Chairman Mavros and his sister is settling Sir Zaino's funeral right now, boss." sagot ni Jared.

"D*MN IT!" Mura ko. How could he die just like that? Akala ko ba matagal mamatay ang mga masasamang damo?

F*ck paano na ngayon ang plano ko? I didn't see this coming, I thought he just got involve into a minor accident earlier, dang!

I heard a knock on the door, "Xavien, it's me." and I heard a familiar voice.

"Tsk, come in Felix." hiyaw ko sakto lang na marinig niya galing sa labas.

"Yow dude, have you heard about it? Zaino's dead, man." nag aalalang panimula ni Felix, he's my bestfriend and my partner in crime. A real one this time, he's been my one and only trusted friend along the years.

"D*mn him! Why did he suddenly die like that when my plan is already settled." naiinis kong saad.

Felix chuckled, "Huwag mo namang murahin ang patay, Xavien. Baka multohin ka ni Zaino, sige ka." Asar niya.

I glare at him, "Do I look like I'm in the mood to laugh on your jokes, Felix?"

He gestures to zip his mouth, "Sabi ko nga, mag seseryoso na. So, what would happen now?" he asked.

Iniyukom ko ang mga kamao ko, I can't just give up like this. I have to do something.

"Jared, is there any news announced by Chairman Zack?" bigla kong tanong.

"Mr. Mavros? Oh none as of the moment sir." sagot ni Jared.

"Chill, man. Nag luluksa pa yung matandang yun, ano ka ba naman?" natatawang dagdag ni Felix. Seryoso akong tumingin sa kawalan.

Knowing the wicked old man, I'm sure even if they are mourning on his son's death, he's probably concern about the future of his business now that his successor is gone.

Hindi ko dapat I-underestimate ang kayang gawin ng matandang yun in the first place.

"Bantayan mo ang galaw ng mga Mavros, Jared." utos ko.

"Yes boss, nakamatyag naman palagi ang mga insider natin sa kompanya nila. I'll inform Ms. Trishesse to keep in touch." sagot ni Jared. Yeah we even planted a lot of employees inside the Mavros Group to spy on them.

"Good, you may now go for now." I answered.

Matapos ng nabalitaan ko, Felix and I decided to grab some food for dinner, lumalalim na rin ang gabi.

"I have to go. Let's talk about the Mavros tomorrow, let's see what we can do about this matter." paalam ko kay Felix

"Dude, come on, let's have some fun first. Matagal na rin tayong 'di nakakapag club magkasama, you're always having fun alone tsk selfish mor*n." Anyaya ni Felix.

I glance at the time on my wrist watch,

"Tsk, I can't, man. I'm not in the mood to have fun right now." I answered. All thanks to that chaotic Mavros Family, nasira tuloy ang napaka-smooth kong plano ugh.

"I have to come up with a new plan now that Zaino's gone, Felix. F*ck that family." I cursed.

He chuckled again, "Why are you so obsessed with them, Xavien? How about the Lyreum Corp.? Malaki laking kompanya din yun, mapapasayo yun with just a few glimpse of touch." He offered.

"No, I want the Mavros Group." mariin kong sagot. Because I want to be the number 1 wealthiest man in the country, I'm so sick of being a second rate person, and in order to be the number one, I must successfully claim that Mavros Group. That's the only way.

Tumalikod na ako at sumakay sa kotse ko, tsaka ako dumeretso sa Pavillion ko to have some rest.

After I took a shower, I rested in my bed and decided to turn on the TV. Halos lahat ng balita ngayon ay tungkol sa pamilyang Mavros at ang pagkamatay ni Zaino. Pati sa social media, ganon din. Nabalita rin yung pag mamadaling pag alis nung kapatid ni Zaino sa quest academy kanina.

While staring at the news, natigilan ako when something came off from my mind. Kailangan kong kumilos.

Kinuha ko ang phone ko at ini-dial ang number ni Jared.

"Jared, do you know where Zaino's funeral been held?" Agad kong tanong ng sinagot ni Jared ang telepono.

[I haven't check it yet, boss, my apologies.]

"Tss alamin mo ngayon din!" sigaw ko at pinatay ang tawag.

I continue to stare at my brown ceiling while in depth thinking when I heard my phone rings, when I check, it is Jared who's calling me back.

"Ano? Nalaman mo na? Where did they take him?" tanong ko agad.

[Johannes Funerary, boss. Kakarating lang din daw ng bangkay ni Zaino doon, at sa ngayon kahit 1:00 am na ng madaling araw, maraming bibigating business man ang kumukuyod at dumalaw sa lamay niya.]

" Are one of our mans out there right now, Jared?" tanong ko

[Yes, boss. The underwing of Zaino's secretary which is our insider is there para mag matyag.] he answered.

"Good job, keep me updated, okay?" utos ko at pinatay na ang tawag.

I smirk,

"Hmm. Zaino, I think I should pay you a visit tomorrow myself."

NEXT DAY

Pagkagising na pagkagising ko ay agad kong inihanda ang sarili. I'm planning to go Zaino's funeral now at nag suot ng formal attire, naka slacks ako at long sleeve black polo, I unbutton the first three buttons of my polo so I would look hot. Of course, it's important to look hot.

It's 9:30 AM in the morning now, ilang minuto lang ang lumipas ay may kumatok sa office room ng Pavillion.

"Boss, it's me." boses ni Jared ang narinig ko kaya lumakad ako papunta sa may pintuan at pinag buksan siya ng pinto.

Jared look at me, nag tataka ata siya bakit hindi ako naka-suit which I always wear on work.

"Cancel all my schedules this morning Jared, I must pay Zaino a visit since I'm his friend, right?" Nakangisi kong saad.

"I understand boss, but.." Nag aalinlangang saad ni Jared.

Kumunot ang noo ko, "What?!" I yell at him.

"You have a meeting with Mr. Dreux this 10:00 AM sir Xavien, you have been declining to meet him since last week due to your busy schedule, if you're still going to postpose your meeting with him today, you might as well miss an opportunity to get him on your side." Paalala ni Jared.

Shoot, I almost forgot about Mr. Dreux, I've been trying so hard to approach him last month, but due to big and more important events I need to attend, I postponed our meeting twice. Buti nalang talaga at nandito si Jared para i-remind ako lagi.

"Ugh! This afternoon, I have a board meeting with the shareholders, am I right?" tanong ko at napamasahe sa noo ko.

"Yes, boss." Kumpirma ni Jared.

"If I may suggest boss, mamayang gabi nalang kaya kayo dumalaw sa lamay ni Sir Zaino? I'm sure few people will be there when it's morning, but later this evening, I think a lot of big guys will be there boss." suggest ng secretary kong si Jared.

Napangisi ako, he knows me well. Alam ni Jared na I want to be the center of attraction. Of course the more maraming tao ang makakapansin sa presence ko, the more they realize how close I am to the Mavros which is good.

"Well then, I guess mamayang gabi nalang ako pupunta doon to pay my respect." I said smirking.

Nagpalit na muna ako ng damit, my usual outfit in going to work. I attend my meeting with Mr. Druex this morning, I took my lunch and after, I attend the board meeting.

Later, I must come up of a new strategy after I look into their situation. Hindi pa huli ang lahat, saakin parin babagsak ang kompanyang yun.
