Chapter 23 I wore the bathrobe, and walked outside the bathroom. Thank God, Archer is not around, I just found a folded white maxi dress and some underwear on the bed. I wore the clothes and faced the mirror. It fits me perfectly. That woman was good in assessing just by looking, sanay na siguro? I waited in the living area for Archer, alangan namang lumabas nalang ako hindi ko naman alam ang pupuntahan. “Let’s go?” Tumango lamang ako saka kami lumabas ng room. “Good evening Sir.” “Good evening Mr. Saavedra” Bati ng mga nakakasalubong naming mga staff saka sila napapatingin sakin at ngingitian din. “Ilang babae na nadala mo dito?” I curiously asked. “What?” “It’s okay, Archer, don’t be shy. You don’t have to deny it, you’re grown up, that’s normal.” “I don’t do what you’re thinking, Rain Amira. And you’re the first.” “But the old woman earlier was good at assessing bodies. Siguro lagi mong pinapa-assess sa kanya mga dinadala mo dito no?” “She handles the staffs and she’s good just by looking at a woman since she sometimes measure the crews for their uniforms.” “I see. So ilan na nga nadala mo dito? Don’t include me ha, I’m not here for that.” He stopped and faced me with his eyebrow raised. “Are you implying something, Rain Amira?” aniya saka ngumisi. His remark left me dumbfounded, he just used my statement against me. The audacity of this man! “I am not, Archer! And why are you diverting the question, huh?” it’s my turn to taunt him. “I told you, you’re the only lady I’ve ever brought here.” He then stepped forward as the elevator door opened and it’s empty. I stepped back as he continue to walk forward. “Do you want something to ask things like that, Rain?” his eyes looked deep and dark as they stared at mine. “O-of course n-not. I just asked out of curiosity Archer.” I looked away and moved to the side, but he quickly put his arms on my sides to cage me. “Move, Archer.” His lips met mine, and I turned into a statue with widened eyes, not functioning mind, breathless, and with a heart in an erratic state. His lips still feels so soft like the first time he kissed me. I felt his hand on my waist as he moved his lips gently, his kisses are light as if afraid that it would hurt me. I can feel his restraint not to deepen the kiss. He slightly bit my lip urging me to respond to his kisses but I did not, aside from the fact that I don’t know how, I also don’t know if I should. His hand on my waist became heavier as he started sucking and biting gently my lower lip. The butterflies in me are in chaos, they’re making me feel giddy, pulling my eyelids to close my eyes at the feeling of his kisses. He’s the only one who can make me feel like this… euphoric. He then placed consecutive light kisses before pulling away as I slowly opened my eyes he stared at me and a calm smile slowly formed on his lips while I stared at him. I felt the blood came rushing to my face as I went into realization what just happened. Damn. Did I just what? Stupid Rain Amira! Did I just close my eyes and enjoyed that one?! The elevator made a sound signaling that we’re now in the ground floor, as soon as the door opened I immediately removed his arms and walked fast. I heard his small laugh as he quickly followed me. “Oh. My Rain is being shy? Don’t be.” he kissed the back of my head before proceeding at beside me while resting his hand at my back. “Shut up, Archer.” “That’s not the way, baby. Still bad at directions.” “How would I know Archer” “That’s why don’t go ahead of me.” Aniya saka mahinang tumawa. Nangaasar na naman. We went in a Restaurant placed in the hotel and were immediately given the menu. I scanned it but there are too much to choose. “What do you want?” “Um.. anything?” “There’s no ‘anything’ on the menu, missy.” He retorted. I glared at him and he just gave me a smile. “I’ll get what’s yours.” I finally said. “Even my surname?” gulat akong napatingin sa kanya. I’m too young to think about things like that. I noticed that the waiter who’s waiting beside our table has her mouth opened at what Archer said. Of course they know that he is the son of the resort owner. Who wouldn’t know. She looked at me and then to Archer who is smirking. “Whatever, Archer.” He gave the orders to the waiter and our food was immediately served after a couple of minutes. “Slow down, Rain.” He sound amused. “Baka nakakalimutan mong hindi ako nag-lunch Archer.” Sagot ko naman dito saka itinuon ulit ang pansin sa kinakain. We ate silently until we finished the desserts. “Shall we go take a walk?” Sabagay, wala namang pasok bukas. We walked silently, enjoying the sound of the crashing waves and the light breeze of the wind. We stopped when we reached his private place, away from the guests, more peaceful. Archer placed himself at my side slightly at my back. He wrapped his arms around my waist. He hugged me and placed his head on my shoulder as he closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. I felt that his body relaxed and his breathing is calm. “Archer?” “Let me. Please. Even just for now, baby.” I touched his hair and played with it. It’s soft and it smells good. “What’s your shampoo?” he just laughed at my question and didn’t answer. I figured out that even though he always has that rough and cold look, he also has a soft and clingy side of him.  He’s like a grown up male Sophia. Cute. I hummed the melody in my head as I look at the serenity of the moon and played with his hair. Is it possible that I love him now? It can’t be, right? Not that fast, I think? “You have a beautiful voice.” “I don’t think so.” I laughed. “Really, you do.” “If you say so.” Couple of minutes passed and we were both silent. I wonder how Archer did like me when he was just so grumpy at me before. I wonder if what could have happened if I studied in another school, would have I still met him? “Rain?” “Hmm?” “I’m tired of school. There are lots to finish, our thesis as well.” Aniya na parang bata. He tightened his arms around me. “It’s okay to be tired. That’s part of the process, just hold on, and you will be a doctor soon. I’ll just be here if you need anything.” He looked at me and gave me a smirk. “Anything?” “I’m serious, Archer.” “Sorry.” “Next Saturday’s my birthday.” “I know.” “Hmm. Will you be my date then for the party?” “What party?” “Mom and Dad will throw a social party here at the resort. You know, business. But some of my friends will be here as well, you can bring your friends as well if you want, is it Hannah her name?” I became friends with my classmates, and Hannah is the closest to me. They’re fun to be with actually. “Yeah, but I guess I’ll just come alone instead.” “Alright. I’ll pick you up at 6pm. I’ll have your clothes ready for you.” “No, I can just buy—“ “Let me do it, Rain.” “But, I---“ “No buts, baby.”
