Snow’s POV
We, Preci err Jewel and I, are here in the lobby waiting for the elevator to arrive when suddenly all the girls stopped walking and talking.
They all gasped. Some girls even put their hands to cover their mouths. You can see that they’re in awe.
“Hey Jewel!” When I turned my head to look at her, she’s also looking in the same direction where all the girls’ eyes were fixed.
I followed her gaze to see that it is no other than Victor, CEO of FundLand.
I don’t know but this always happens when he’s here. I feel nothing special about it. He supposed to come here. He is the CEO, remember?
You can’t hear anything but only the clicking sounds of his shoes’ on the tiled floors.
I felt like the time has stopped and he’s walking in our direction.
“Oh, God! He’s going to come and get me.” Jewel whispered while giggling.
Hearing this from her is not new anymore. She always mumbles this then when Victor is around. She becomes tight-lipped.
I checked on Victor. Well, he has this aura. I can’t tell what is it.
You know when he walks, the way he carries himself is very cool and regal. Maybe, this is the very reason why all the girls will head turn or even stop in their tracks when they saw Victor.
He looks very manly with his blue suit, hands in his pocket. His black hair is in a mohawk style which sides are clean but the middle hair is brushed up.
His skin’s complexion is as white as mine like snow. That’s why my mom named me Snow and of course, the fairy tale Snow White.
He got long eyelashes and his nose is just right... with rosy red lips. Did he put some lipstick on?
Definitely, this is not the first time I saw him but this is the first time I take a good look at him. Because every time I go to the office I am always on the phone busy talking with Chaldrex. Well, those were the days before I discover all about his debts.
“Good morning, beautiful and hard-working girls! Why work on a weekend?” Then, he flashed us a smile showing his pearly white teeth.
I shook my head very lightly and stopped checking him out. “Good morning! We enjoy working. Right, Jewel?”
“Yes...” that’s the only thing she said. I looked at her. She’s smiling from ear to ear and her eyes... I can see Victor and Victor alone.
I know she’ll gonna regret it later saying only yes to him. I smirked.
Ding! The elevator has just arrived.
He gestured his hand saying we should get in first. Always the gentleman!
“After you, girls.” He said still smiling.
“Thank you.” I said smiling.
He is always in charge of pressing the floor numbers button. So, he pressed the 32nd floor and 31st floor. He knows the 31st floor is for employees.
I can't stop myself asking. “Why use this elevator when you have your very own elevator? I mean a special elevator for executives.” I asked boldly.
He looked at my eyes very intently and I did the same.
If only I can stop myself from breathing. You don't know how much courage I have gathered just to ask this.
He chuckled before he answered me, “I feel less human when I use that. I have no companion. Why? Besides, it is always fun to share this elevator with beautiful girls like the two of you.” He's smiling while hands in his pocket.
I can hear Jewels' cracking knuckles. Oh, come on! I am dead! I am seriously dead! I looked over my shoulder carefully seeing Jewels' sharp gaze.
I hesitantly smiled at both of them.
“Nothing. I am just asking. Thank you but that might get into her head.” I smiled hesitantly again and pointed my finger to Jewel.
She frowned. “Just kidding, Jewel.” I said laughing.
It’s always like this every day when I come to work. Jewel, Victor, and I shared an elevator. I don’t mind.

“See yah around, girls! Nice chatting with you.” Victor said smiling between the closing doors of the elevator.
“My God! Snow! Why did you do that?! I hate you!" Jewel's hitting me with her bag and I can't stop myself from laughing.
"Why didn't you intervene and protect him?" I asked teasingly.
"Oh, well! Did you see how he answered that and how he carried himself while answering that? My God! It is like I am watching question and answer portion in a beauty pageant." She proudly said.
I laughed.
"A proud girlfriend, I see." I said smiling.
Her smile turned into a frown. "I lose my chance to get closer to him. I only said yes the whole time.” She complained.
“Well, I knew you’ll gonna regret it. Anyway, nothing new. You’re always been like this since he joined our group in the elevator.” This started last year.
“I know! It’s been a year but I still can’t calm my shaking nerves. I can’t seem to find the right topic to open up for a conversation.” Her shoulders droop down.
“There’s still next time. You know what they say try and try until you succeed.” I said smiling. I even made my tone cheerful to give her encouragement.
“I know what will make you happy. Go check Shop App. They will be on sale.” She loves online shopping.
Her eyes glimmer. “Really?!” She said excitedly.
“Yeah! Go check!” I said encouragingly.
She immediately checked her phone.
“God! Snow! This is amazing! Check this out!” She tucked the sleeve of my baby pink polo shirt.
“What is it?” I looked at where she’s pointing and saw that it’s a make-up kit from MXD. A popular brand of cosmetics.
“Oh yeah! I think it will look good on you.” She loves to put on makeup. Unlike me, I only put blush on and lipstick.
“You know you should learn to do your make-up, Snow.” She said while raising an eyebrow at me.
“Well, I don’t think it’s necessary. For me, simplicity is beauty.”
“Whatever, Snow!” She rested her case and started browsing so she can cart the items.
We were greeted by guards and just before we reached our designated desk. Beep! I heard my phone.
Someone texted me. I checked it and saw it’s from Chaldrex.
My queen, how are you? I will definitely make it up to you next week. I love you. I miss you...
I sighed. Chaldrex... I miss you, too. I miss everything that we do together just before this news about your debts erupted.
I chose not to send him a reply. Put my phone inside my bag.
Just give me ample time to clear my mind, Chaldrex. Don’t worry my love for you will never ever fade.
It’s just that the perfect life after marriage that I have imagined is not like this.
