Angel's POV
I woke up from a very long sleep since I took a shot of high dose of medicine for my panic attack yesterday. I turned off the alarm on the phone, the light from the screen felt like it was burning my eyes and I squinted harshly.
Sitting up from bed and stretching out my arms before rubbing my tired eyes, I grabbed my phone again and checked the time.
It was 6 A.M. which meant I have to prepare for the trial today.
I pulled the covers off of me and slid out of bed, walking to my closet.
I prepared myself, and as soon as I was ready, I head to the Trial court. I can feel a slight pain in my stomach which indicates that I am hungry. I didn't mind and continued to go all the way to the court room as soon as I arrived.
I seated next to my client who was already sitting on the designated seat.
"Good Morning attorney," Mr. Lacsamana and Cherry greeted me.
I just gave them a cold smile and faced in front.
Afterwards, people are starting to arrive in the court room, including Jaydee Corpuz together with Mia and Eight aestetic looking men.
My left brow is uncontrollably raising.
My heart started to palpitate again. I leaned sideways on my seat as I am feeling uncomfortable with his presence.
Maybe this is still an effect of what happened yesterday. My eyes widened with shock as I was not expecting his next move.
He suddenly came near me and stood in front of me, like an observer, amazed by the perfection of his moves, his fluid and calm stature, sending off vibes I never thought I would come across someday.
"Are you okay already?" He pulled that question in a tone of being concerned.
I threw a sharp gaze towards him.
"Why on earth do you care?" I fussed.
He didn’t bother to speak up or fire back, instead he gave me the paper bag which I did not realized that he was holding.
Curiosity seized me further as I slid my sight downwards to the bag.
What could be inside it? And why on earth is he giving it to me?
"This is a barley tea," he finally ended my curiousity. "My mom gave this to me early this morning, she said this is good for relaxing and health."
With his feline eyes. My throat run dryer as I watched the way his lips curved to one side in a sly sort of smile.
I've been thinking how could he act that way towards someone who is against him, then suddenly realized, maybe that's the talent of people in the show business. It is where they are good at. Putting up a show.
"Mr. Corpuz, I don't accept bribes," I said rudely.
"What? I'm sorry. It's not what you think. I was just worried about what happened to you yesterday that's why. I thought this will help you to cope up," He explained.
I laughed mockingly.
"I don't need anyone's concern." I paused and bitchly looked at him in the eye. "Especially when it comes from you."
Primo and Cherry were starting to ignite their pissed faces when the Judge finally arrived which prevented the commotion that was about to rise.
The prosecution will now begin.
The first to give his statement is Jaydee Corpuz and I will be the one who will ask question to him.
He seated on the witness stand while I was standing in front of him.
"Mr. Corpuz, can you tell us your wearabout last January 14 2020?" I began.
Without any hesitation, he answered.
"Me and my group members were at Pier Kapitan Bar in Katipunan to celebrate the birthday of the two of our members."
He is still looking calm right now.
"So you are telling us, that the night on January 14, 2020 you were at the bar wherein the crime happened. May I ask if you know this girl seated right there?"
I said pointing my finger towards the victim Cherry.
He was still calm and confident as he answered again.
"I don't know her, I just met her that night as she was introduced by his cousin Primo, my old acquaintance, who crossed path with me when I went out from the wash room."
"You're saying that you know Mr. Primo?"
He nodded and still he was calm. "Yes," he answered smoothly.
I crossed my arms and started walking around, thinking of something that would break his calmness.
"But it goes to show that the two of you crossed paths that night," I said.
"That's true," He replied.
I think this is the time to drop the bomb that would destroy his calmness.
"I know that everyone saw this already as it has circulated in social media. But I want to present this evidence to the court."
I looked at him and noticed that he was gulping consecutively.
I can see when he does it, his eyebrows are furrowing slightly, his lips pressing together. The emotions that show on his face vary on his level of annoyance, and his surprise towards what his target is thinking. And it’s…
somewhat mesmerizing.
Pull yourself together b***h!
I turned back my rudeness on and started to flash the photo on screen.
It was the scandalous photo that everyone had seen.
"Mr. Corpuz, are you aware that this happened?" I asked maliciously.
He didn’t bother to speak up. He was just sitting there with a blank expression, seems like he is being cautious not to commit mistake.
"Mr. Corpuz?" I called his attention.
He turned his head down slightly and though his words were skeptical he tries his best to answer. "Honestly, I didn't remember that it happened."
Bingo! Now you're caught.
I am becoming more excited with this.
"So there is a possibility that you raped her right? Because of your drunkeness you started to do filthy things towards her," I slured having the face of an evil dragon who was about to eat, and him looking like a poor prey.
I turned back and faced the judge.
"I have no further question your honor."
