Chapter 12

Sinagad mo 'ko!

"Mm," nabigla ako ng may nag-lapag ng tray sa desk ko. I looked up and saw Greige standing beside me. He was just wearing his poker face.

"Uh, I already told you, pwede namang hindi mo na ako bilhan ng pagkain," inilabas ko ang wallet sa bag ko at nilabas ang one thousand bago i-abot sa kanya.

"Here. You can keep this. Thank you," sambit ko at bahagyang ngumiti.

But he just shrugged his shoulders and turned his back against us, totally ignored my bill on my hand. My lips parted at that. I didn't know he has that side of him, being a bit rude to others.

Itinabi ko na lamang ang pera ko pabalik sa wallet ko at nag-simulang kumain habang na-sulyapan ko naman ang gawi ni Greige, kausap na si Bella. I rolled my eyes when I saw her giggling. Ang harot. Kainis.

"Oh. Inggit ka na naman, Genieva. Buti nga binilhan ka pa ng lunch," asar ni Lexie habang umiinom ng juie sa tumbler niya. I glared at her before I started to ate my lunch.

"Hindi ko naman siya inutusan or pinilit na bilhan ako ng lunch diba? Masiyado kasing mapilit. Ayaw pang tanggapin ang bayad ko," I replied and then tsked. Natawa si Reine at napa-iling na lamang sa sinabi ko.

"Ang maldita mo talaga kahit kailan, Genieva," aniya at tumawa.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, ganiyan na talaga ang ugali ko. I can't break it anymore."

"Sabi mo 'yan ha? Pero 'di ka sure," sagot na naman ni Lexie at napabuntong-hininga na lamang ako.

"Sa wakas! Natuloy din ang milktea na 'to!" si Lexie at masayang pumasok sa milk tea store. We followed her inside and took a table for us. A slow music invaded our eyes. I really like the atmosphere in here. It's just too peaceful being in this place. Nilagay muna namin ang mga bag namin sa couch bago lumakad papunta sa counter at pumili ng mao-order na makikita sa taas ng counter.

Nang matapos mag-order ng meal at milk teas ay bumalik na kami sa table namin at saglit na nag-kwentuhan bago lumapit sa amin ang staff at nilapag isa-isa ang order namin. I smiled when I smelled my ordered meal. Ang bango.

"Kainan na!" masayang sambit ni Lexie bago tuhugin ang chopped tocino sa kanyang plato habang ako naman ay ang tapa ko.

I was just staring at the ceiling of my room. The interiors are already changed as what my parents told me. I sighed and can't forget how my old room looked like.

I hugged my extra pillow beside me and closed my eyes when my phone beeped on the bedside table. I opened my eyes and reached for my phone. I then saw Greige's name flashing through the screen, calling me RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

Agad akong umupo at tumikhim bago sinagot ang tawag niya. I placed my phone beside my ear.

"Sorry for disturbing at this late hour but we already need to talk about our project so I can work for it now."

I bit my lower lip because of his freaking baritone voice! It was just too pleasing to hear.

"Uh, yeah, yeah. It's alright. I'm still not off to bed."

"Hm. You can just share your ideas regarding the topic assigned to us. I'll just make it more broader and do the rest."

I nodded and continued to share my ideas to him. It took almost half an hour before I finished talking.

"It's okay now? Or should I share more?" tanong ko at yinakap ang unan ko sabay sandal na rin ng likod sa head rest ng kama ko.

"Hm. Thanks for your ideas. Goodnight," seryoso niyang tanong pero bago pa niya ako babaan ay agad akong nag-tanong sa kanya.

"Wait. Why did you still call me if we can just talk about this through chat?" I slowly asked him because it may trigger his rude attitude again.

A silence stretched between us before I heard a sigh. "Chats doesn't make sense at all. We can understand each other more if we talk through call, Genieva," pakiramdam ko'y tumayo lahat ng balahibo ko nang marinig ang pag-sambit niya ng pangalan ko.

"Oh. Okay—Okay. I just asked about it."

"Hm. Sleep now, it's already getting late," aniya.

"Yeah. Goodnight."

"Hm," ayon lang at binabaan niya na ako ng tawag. I heaved a sigh and looked at the call. We talked for about an hour.

I licked my lower lip and I just found myself grinning at nowhere.

I shook my head and just collapsed on my bed, closing my eyes. Remembering how his voice sounded like through call.

"Damn it, Genieva. You idiot."

I was just smiling as I walked inside the school. I am having a good mood today!

"Genieva!!" narinig ko ang boses ni Lexie sa likod ko pero bago pa ako makalingon ay pinulupot niya na ang braso sa leeg ko. I groaned and chuckled at her jolly mood in this early morning.

"Goodmorning," bati ko at nag-patuloy sa paglalakad papunta sa classroom. Some of the lower graders greeted me a goodmorning so I smiled, waved my hands and greeted them back which caught them off guard.

"Wow! That's new, Genieva! Inaapoy ka ata ng lagnat?" asar sa akin ni Lexie at sumunod sa akin matapos batiin din ang mga estudyanteng bumati sa kanya.

I was about to answer when a guy passed by me. I automatically smiled when I saw him. Agad ko siyang hinabol at hinila bahagya ang kanyang braso na siyang nagpa-tigil sa kanya sa paglalakad. His bag that's hanging lazily on his shoulder slid down to my wrist.

"Uh, morning. How's our project nga pala?" tanong ko sa kanya bago kinuha ang bag niya at isinakbit ulit sa balikat niya ang bag niya.

"It's already done. I worked on it last night after our call," my eyes widened a bit and looked around. My eyes shut a bit when I saw how their surprised reactions on their faces were.

"Oh. Okay, okay. Should I share some money? Your expenses for uhm, bondpapers or other stuffs?"

"No, it's fine. I already shouldered all of the project's expenses."

I nodded my head and pressed my lips. "Ideas lang talaga ang ambag ko?" tanong ko dahil baka mamaya ako ang mababa ang grades kung malalaman ni Sir Trion na ideas lang ang ambag ko sa project naming dalawa.

I heard him heaved a sigh. "It's alright, Genieva. Don't worry, neither of our grades will fall. Don't think low of me," agad akong napatingin sa kanya, nanlalaki ang mga mata.

"Hindi! I'm not saying things like that—" he cut me off.

"Let us just talk inside the classroom, please," aniya bago lumakad na paalis sa harap ko, papuntang classroom namin.

"Hoy! Ano 'yon? LQ?!" I sighed when I heard Lexie. I just ignored her and started to follow Greige towards the room.

Nang makapasok ay inilapag ko lang ang bag sa upuan ko bago lumapit muling kay Greige, hindi na alintana kung nandito na rin pala si Bella.

I licked my lower lip before I towered over him because he's now sitting on his chair, placing his elbow on his desk and rested his chin on his large palm that looked so soft to hold on.

"Okay. If you'll pass the project later or tommorow, please inform me so I could go with you to pass it to Sir Trion. I'm just making sure. Baka mamaya bumaba na lang bigla ang grades ko," pranka kong sabi at humalukipkip.

But then I saw how a smirk etched on his lips and now raised a gaze on me. I froze a bit.

"If I intentionally want to pull down your grades, then I should have just not inform you that I'll already decided to work on our project last night and will not strike a damn call on you just to have your ideas which I can also do and think of my own, without your help actually," his words stabbed me.

I chewed my lips before I sighed and released my crossed arms.

"I know you're really a witty guy but I should just remind you that don't be too full of yourself. Masiyado mong nabubuhat ang sarili mong bangko, Greige. If I can just have the chance to pick for my own partner in this project, I should have just pick for a better guy partner, who can respect me as his partner on this project," I fired back before I turned my back against them and marched towards my desk, feeling strange feelings right now.

"Ayos ka lang?" tanong ni Reine at nag-aalalang tumingin sa akin nang marinig at makita niya siguro ang usapan namin nina Greige. I breathed in and calmed my freaking self when my eyee started to heat up because of the tears who are now pooling in my eyes. I bit my lip and as soon as I shut my eyes, tears streamed down to my cheeks harshly.

I exhaled and covered my face with my palms. He was just showing that my ideas were dull and not important in our project through his f-cking words! That it's was just too useless afterall and can make the ideas on his own!

Sinasabi niya bang wala akong kwentang ka-partner sa project na 'to?! Pwes, wala rin siyang kwenta! Napaka-harsh niya!

When I can't contain my feelings anymore, I stood up, grabbed my bag and marched outside the classroom. Nakasalubong ko pa ang teacher namin para sa oras na 'to pero nilagpasan ko na lamang siya at nagtuloy-tuloy sa daan papunta sa office ni Daddy. I just want to stay there for a bit and calm myself.

Naiinis talaga ako sa Greige na 'yan.

Sobra.

Wala naman ng mga estudyante dito sa hallway dahil may kanya-kanya ng mga klase kaya may lakas loob akong lumakad-lakad dito ngayon habang umiiyak na parang inapi.

"Woah, Genieva.. why are you crying? Look who's crying like a baby right now!" napatigil agad ako sa paglalakad at napalingon sa nag-salita. At doon ko nakita si Mika at ang mga kaklase niyang nagme-make up sa may hagdanan pababa ng building namin.

I immediately wiped my tears away and raised a brow at them. "You shouldn't be here at this hour, Mika. Nagka-cutting na naman ba kayo? Mga wala talaga kayong patutunguhan sa buhay," I still acted rude towards them even though I'm not in the mood to have a fight with them at this time.

Instead of being offended with my words, she laughed at me instead.

"Well, well, well, baka ikaw ang walang patutunguhan ang buhay? Sa harot mong 'yan sa tingin mo kaya..?" she already didn't finish her words and started laughing with her friends.

I breathed in and tried to think of some harsh words to throw to them when an arm wrapped around my waist which made my breathing hitched. I looked up to see who was it and saw the dark face of Greige looking straightly on Mika's group. I shut my eyes and simply tried to remove his arm but he just tightened his grip on me. I saw how his well-shaped jaw clenched and how he gritted his teeth.

Did he heard what Mika said?

"You should go back to your class now, Mika. Study first before insulting others which there's a fact that you're more worth-insulted than Genieva. Try to check yourself on the mirror too, you might see yourself and your f*****g squad much flirtier than Genieva according to what you have told her," my lips parted with his savage words. I blinked twice before turning my gaze back to Mika who's now also shocked with what Greige have said.

"Greige.." bulong ko. His brows were twitching, he looked so fuming mad right now and it scared the hell out of me.

"Let's go, baka mahawaan ka pa nila," dagdag pa ni Greige bago ako hinila papalayo kayna Mika.

"So.. you already learned how to cut classes, huh?" tanong ko at bahagyang tumawa sa tanong ko. I was just mad at him a while ago but looked who's an idiot right now, laughing and already having some talk with Greige Morall.

He sensually sipped on his straw that's pushed inside the box of milk.

"Hm. We're actually first timers on something like this," aniya na ikinatango ko naman dahil tama iyon. Sa buong taon ko bilang isang highschool student, ngayon lang ako nakapag-cut ng class.

"This is your fault, Greige. Hindi sana ako magka-cutting if hindi mo ako sinagad!"

Biglang sumilay ay ngisi sa kanyang labi at sumulyap sa akin, namungay ang kanyang mga mata.

"Sinagad kita? Kailan?" natatawang aniya na ikina-kunot ng noo ko dahil parang iba ata ang pagkaka-intindi niya sa sinabi ko. Pero maya-maya lang ay na-gets ko na ang malisyoso niyang tanong at sinapak agad siya sa braso!

"You're really a p*****t, Greige. I thought you're an innocent freaking nerd!"

He laughed and looked at me. "What? I didn't say something green!" he defended.

"Meron!"

He moved more nearly to me before a teasing smile appeared on his lips. "Sige nga. Ano 'yon?"

My lips parted at that, searching for a right term to say it not too boldly but then his shameless eyes that were staring at my wet lips just distracted the hell out of me! This damn p*****t also sensually c****d his head on the side, which made me think that he's already positioning himself to do something with me right here.

I swallowed hard and shut my lips before I moved away from him and continued sipping on my milk.

"Forget it. Let's just finish drinking our milk and go back to the classroom."

I heard Greige chuckled and nodded his head at me before turning to his box of milk and continued sipping on it.
