Chapter 3

1290 Words
AMBER Sienna turns away from me and faces her people. “Take the heir.” She orders a woman and quickly moves towards me. “No!” I yelled and started to panic. ‘What is she planning against my baby?’ I quickly grabbed my little one. But the drug they injected into me started to kick in. My muscles weaken and I can't move. ‘No… My baby! I need to protect him!’ “Stop fighting already, Amber,” Sienna nonchalantly says while checking on her newly manicured fingernails. “There is no sense in fighting. We inject you with a high quality tranquilizer so you will definitely doze off in five, four…” ‘No please… moon goddess. I need to protect my babies…’ “You’re not supposed to do this, Sienna. We are family…” I said, trying to fight the dizziness. I hear my baby start to cry. He seemed to feel imminent danger coming towards him. And it breaks my heart hearing him cry like that. “I already told you. You are not my family. And that freakin' baby? He is not part of my family either. He is actually a threat to my plans. So, I must decide about his future.” “No… no, please no…” I begged her, my voice was weak but my desire to protect myself was flaming inside me. “And you can’t do anything about it, Amber. You must bear in your mind that it is just a payback for what you stole from me. Blame yourself for whatever is going to happen to your son.” ‘No!’ I try hard to scream it. But I can’t fight the drugs rolling down my veins. I succumb to darkness. It seems to drift me towards nothingness. To the dream that I always had since I was a kid. It seems like I am watching myself when I was a toddler. No… it is like seeing what a toddler can see. Everything seems so tall and big, when at my adult size, it should be normal. ‘Amber, come back here, sweetheart!’ I heard my Mom calling me. I am confused. I am sure it is not my Mom’s voice, but why is it that my mind says it is? My toddler self ran towards a big man and I quickly hugged his leg. ‘Don’t go to war, Daddy. I beg you.’ My eyes started to burst into tears. I feel the fear and unfathomable loneliness surrounding me. The man wiped my tears. I looked up, trying really hard to see his face. But it is a blur. ‘Hush now, my princess. I will come back, safe and sound.’ My princess? My father never called me that. He used to call me pumpkin. But why is it that my mind is telling me, this man is my father? ‘Pumpkin!’ When I look back, I see my Dad coming my way. The father that I used to know is mine, but he is not. ‘Amber… be safe my princess…’ I turned back to the big man that I asked not to go to. But he is slowly fading away. ‘No!!! Don’t leave me! Come back!’ “Daddy, nooo!!!” I suddenly jumped out of bed. My heart is racing–in fear, in confusion, I am not sure. But one thing I am sure of. “It was just a dream.” A dream that confirms the truth about what Sienna told me. So, that is why, all along, I always had this kind of confusing dream. ‘Because it is my reality too.’ My tears started to slip down my face once again. Everything is like a whirlwind. I can’t believe that the family I aim to protect is suddenly destroyed in a snap. ‘No, it is not over yet, Amber. You still have your baby.’ As if on cue, upon remembering my boy, I glanced around and saw him on the floor. Confused, I quickly went to him and cradled my boy. ‘Do I remember it wrongly? Sienna took my baby. Why is he here on the floor?’ Or maybe her conscience beat her and sent my baby back. But realizing my boy wasn’t moving, I quickly panicked. “My sweet boy, wake up, come on…” I gently tried to wake him up, but he was no longer responding. Realization dawns on me when I check his pulse. ‘No… no, no, no, no! Please tell me it is just a dream! Please wake me up!’ The door flew open. And just like a few hours ago when I gave birth to my baby boy, the raging Viktor came raging again. This time, his wrath can't be measured. His eyes flew towards my boy, and they widened in great shock. “What did you do to my son?!” He indignantly grabs the front of my hospital gown. “Wait, what are you talking about? I—” “How dare you do this to your own son?! You’re a murderer!” His eyes flickered with so much hatred. “No, wait. Viktor I didn’t—” He gave me a hard slap across my face that almost shocked my world. Good thing I didn’t let go of him in my arms. “Don’t call me by my name. I am an Alpha and you are just an Omega!” He screams at me. I know that. I perfectly remember how he stripped me of my title. Just because of Sienna’s lies and schemes. “How dare an omega lay a finger on my heir? How dare you?! Don’t you have any conscience at all? Just to get back at me, you killed your own son!” His voice was full of contempt. And I am starting to fear my safety. Looking at the ruthless Alpha, I know he will not spare me. Especially when he is falsely accusing me of murdering my own son. ‘Did he really believe I was that cruel?’ “I didn’t, Alpha. I swear to the Moon Goddess that I didn’t kill our son. I only saw him lying on the floor when I woke up after…” I suddenly remembered something. My eyes turned fiercely to Sienna. “You! How dare you, Sienna? How dare you do this to my innocent boy?!” I am about to rush to her when Viktor throws me away, down the floor. “And you dare blame your cruelty to your own sister? Huh! I can’t believe you, Amber. I can’t believe you are this despicable!” “I beg you, Alpha! I didn’t do it. And Sienna isn’t my real sister. She told me that before she took my son from me.” I begged Viktor, as I explained, hoping he would believe me. That he will consider. He knew me after all. I am not that kind of person. Sienna suddenly bawls. “I can’t believe you, Amber. First, you want me to be your scapegoat and now, you are disowning me for being your sister? What is happening to you? This is not you!” Fake tears ran through her face. I can’t believe what I just witnessed. She must be a great actress. She can cry fake tears after doing such cruel things. How I wanted to pull her hair and slap her across the face. Insulting me is enough already, but killing my newly born son is a different story! “Stop!” Viktor yells. “You're going to pay for your crime, Amber!” My eyes widened in fear and the need to be heard. “What?! No!”
