Chapter 1

Yerin's POV

Pumunta na agad ako sa VIP room ng Hotel kung saan magaganap ang family dinner. Dinig ko ang tawanan nila nang makapasok ako sa room.

"She's here"

Medyo nagulat pa ako nang madinig kong i-announce ng Ate ni Taehyun na dumating nako. Nabaling naman ang tingin ng halos lahat sakin.

Nag-bow ako as a matter of respect. "Good evening po... Ahm, hindi daw po makakapunta si Taehyun ngayon, may performance daw po sila today"

"Mmm" sang-ayun naman ni Mama na medyo nalulungkot. "I hear it from your Mom" tukoy niya sa Mommy ni Taehyun.

"Maupo kana anak" sabi ni Mommy.

Don't be confused. Mama ang tawag ko sa biological Mama ko while Mommy naman sa Mama ni Taehyun. Mommy na ang tawag ko sakanya kahit pa nung hindi pa kami kasal ni Taehyun, dahil yun ang gusto niyang tawag ko sakanya. I'd never know na magiging Mommy ko nga talaga siya mulat sapul dahil sa plano nilang marriage arrangement namin ni Taehyun. Daddy naman ang tawag ko sa Daddy ni Taehyun at Papa naman sa Papa ko.

"Ever since na naging Idol si Taehyun, Hindi na siya nakaka-attend sa family dinner" sabi ni Daddy.

"He's just busy Dad" I defended.

"Pasensya na talaga kayo" Mom seems apologetic looking at my parents.

"Okay lang yun, for sure marami pang family dinner ang magaganap in the future, let him enjoy life" Mama said understandingly.

"Pwede napo ba tayong kumain?" Binasag ko ang malungkot na ere ng room. It just seems to be awkward just because of Taehyun absences. Tss.

Unti-unti namang bumalik ang kaninang masayang aura nila.

"Sure, nagugutom kanaba?" Mommy asked.

"Opo, I didn't get to eat lunch because of our research defense" sabi ko saka naglagay ng pagkain sa plato ko.

"Oh iha, it's just school work, you don't have to skip lunch just for that" concern namang sabi ni Mommy. Pag nandiyan talaga siya, parang hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon si Mama na ipakita ang concern nya sakin as a Mother. Taehyun's Mom treated me like her real daughter.

"Sinabi kong mag-aral ka ng mabuti pero hindi ko sinabing pabayaan mo ang kalusugan mo" another concern words from my Papa.

Thinking how concerned they, makes me feel so lucky as a human being living in this world.

"Ngayon lang Pa dahil may research defense kami, hindi naman po lagi" I responded respectfully.

"Good"

"I hope Taehyun will also finish his study" Mom said sadly but still hoping.

Hindi ko na pinatagal pa at kinumusta ko nalang sila saglit saka kami nagpatuloy sa pagkain. I think it's my duty to ask how they are since hindi ko naman sila nakakasama araw-araw. Malay ba natin na may sakit na pala sila, pero sana naman wala. And fortunately, they said that they're okay and still healthy which makes me feel relieved.

Nagpatuloy nadin sila sa kanilang topic about business. Kumpleto na sana kami kung nandito lang si Taehyun. Taehyun's older sister is here with her husband, she doesn't usually attend our family dinner that's why medyo nagulat ako na nandito siya.

My older sister is here, and I'm the bunso.

Medyo nagulat nanaman ako nang masayang ibinalita ni Mommy na buntis Si Ate Emily (Ate ni Taehyun). Everyone congratulated her and her husband dahil sa wakas magkaka-apo narin ang Kang Family for the first time.

"Congratulations po Ate Emily at Kuya Steve" I got the chance to congratulate them lastly.

"I'm also hoping for a baby from you and Taehyun, Yerin" she responded which makes me feel shy. I didn't know what to say. I really didn't expect that she would say that as a 'Thank you'.

"We're looking forward to that Yerin iha" Mom seconded.

"We're too busy for that Mom" I responded with a sweet smile, for them not to get offended. Yun nalang ang nasabi ko.

I heard a smirk from my sister "Too busy? Well, pano sila magkakaroon ng baby kung wala man silang kahit affection sa isa't Isa?" -Rosie.

"Rosie" sita ni Mama sakanya.

"It's true Ma, If they can't manage to have a baby now just because they are both busy, pano pa in the future?" Tanong niya pa. "They will get much busier than now. Alam kong magtatrabaho na agad si Yerin after college. She's my sister, I knew her."Sabi niya na parang alam niya buong pagkatao ko. Well, alam nya nga. But I'd never knew that she would be this rude on front of Taehyun's family. She's going to ruin the good mood.

"Ah should we stop them from being busy? Another thing for sure, they will not agree. Imagine, how can we stop them from being busy as an Idol and as a student? Where we all know the fact that they're not the old children anymore who obey anything you said just like before." Patuloy niya.

"Rosie, you can stop now" this time, si Papa naman ang sumita sakanya.

Taehyun's family seems to be speechless after hearing my sister's non-stopable speech.

Ate Rosie have this kind of attitude ever since then. Maldita lang siya magsalita pero mabait nman siya. That's why ma-ooffend ang sinumang makaka-usap niya na hindi siya kilala. Let's say that she has the ability to say the truth in a hurtful way.

Hindi naman natin siya masisisi kung gusto niya lang sabihin ang totoo. Yun nga lang, in her own way. Taehyun's family already knew na ma-attitude talaga si Ate kaya I think hindi na bago sakanila na maldita siya magsalita.

"Pasensya na kayo sa sinabi niya, she didn't meant it" pagpapasensya ni Papa.

Of course I know Ate meant it, because it's true.

"It's okay, totoo naman. Taehyun and Yerin got married because we decided to... Not because they love or even like each other. However, I'm still hoping... Maybe, they just need more time. Let's not rush them." Mom said. Ramdam ko ang lungkot sa sinabi niya.

I feel bad and sorry. Parang family narin kase ang turing ko sa family ni Taehyun. I feel bad about the truth happening between me and Taehyun. We're just married but we're not a lover.

"I'm sorry for my rudeness but more time? Look Tita Elle, they've been married for almost 14 years now and yet, still nothing happened?"

"Rosie, I said stop now" paninita ni Papa ulit. But I think, at this point, no one can stop Ate Rosie lalo na at alam niyang totoo ang sinasabi niya.

But... Does she really have to say this now?

Like in the middle of a family dinner?

I can't imagine how Taehyun would react if he is here now. Well baka matahimik lang din siya katulad ko ngayon.

"Pa I'm just saying the truth. I'm afraid na baka hindi sila magkaroon ng apo kay Taehyun. Same with you Pa, Ma, baka hindi kayo magkaroon ng apo kay Yerin" -Rosie.

Actually, minsan gusto lang talaga ni Ate Rosie manira ng mood. In short, ma-attitude lang talaga siya. Maybe that's the main reason kaya wala parin siyang boyfriend hanggang ngayon. I'm just hoping na makahanap na siya ng katapat someday.

"Rosie, they are given the chance to tell us if they really don't want to make it work as husband-and-wife. Pero wala parin naman silang sinabi. As you said, maybe they're just busy to the point that they can't even think about their marriage life. Bata pa naman sila, so let them fulfill what they want as an individual now, not as an married couple. I'm sorry Yerin, I shouldn't have said that, hindi sana tayo napunta sa ganitong topic" Ate Emily said.

"I'm sorry din Ate, Mom, Dad" Wala akong ibang masabi kundi sorry.

Hanggang sa makarating ako sa bahay, occupied parin ng utak ko ang naganap kanina sa family dinner. Honestly, hindi ko in-expect na sasabihin na talaga ni Ate Rosie kanina kung ano talaga ang nangyayare samin ni Taehyun. I mean, nothing's happen between us as husband-and-wife. We're just like sister-and-brothers' living in the same roof.

Actually, I know na alam nila ang tungkol dun, but no one dares to talk about it even me except now, Ate Rosie finally tells them and worst, at the family dinner! I guess Ate Rosie intentionally said that there, para hindi na kami nagpapanggap ni Taehyun na kunwari mahal namin ang isa't isa sa tuwing makikita namin ang parents namin.

"How's the family dinner?"

Nagbalik ako sa wisyo nang marinig ang boses ni Taehyun. Hindi ko man lang namalayan na nandito na pala ako sa sala ng bahay namin.
