---POV Tobias---
“Find it! It’s mine! Mine!” He kept growling and I winced.
I need this stupid ceremony to end. I have to get out of here. “Honey, what’s wrong?” My mother’s voice came through and I shot my eyes at her. “Your claws are out.” She cooed.
I shook my head once. “Nothing.” That’s all I could get out as I tried to hold back my Lycan. I took a deep breath and forced my claws to recede, unfortunately, to no avail.
“What are you hiding?” She asked playfully. Great. She already heard from Seth. They all did. I could see the smiles growing around me and I realized my worries were confirmed. D*mn that loudmouth!
Once they finally crowned the King and Queen, I didn’t want to wait to see them walk off. I know this would be rude, but if I didn’t leave now, I would shift right here, in the middle of the coronation. I tried to stand and felt my brother’s grip pull me down. “Hang on, brother. You can do this. We all know it can be hard to ignore their scent.”
I scoffed. “Hard?! I’m suffocating in roses at the moment.” I growled angrily.
He sighed and we watched the happy couple walk down the aisle, slower than I thought possible. Aren't they vampires?! At this point, I knew my eyes were bright red and I couldn’t hold on any longer. I growled heavily as the door closed behind them and Seth shot up from the pew, letting me free. Gramma and Gramps were at my side in seconds along with my parents, but at this point, I didn’t see them anymore. I was gone in a blur. My mate…their scent. I waited so long for the stupid coronation to end and now the scent…it’s gone!
I bolted through the castle and found nothing. I took a deep breath. It was like a game of Catch the Prey all over again. I smirked to myself as I stood half shifted in the hallway. Challenge accepted. “Mine! Where is she?!” Adir growled angrily.
“Adir?! Where did you go?!” Seth called.
Then I heard it. Pure laughter that sounded like the most sensual sound I have ever heard. “Adir! Tobias! Be careful!” My father called and I could tell it was his Lycan.
I didn’t listen. I didn’t care. She could be a vampire, fae, dragon, werewolf, human, I don’t care. I want her! I bolted outside and looked toward the gardens attached to the main hall where the coronation was held. That’s how the scent disappeared so fast.
“Tobias!” I heard again and this time it was definitely Seth coming after me.
I sniffed around the air again as the scent led me towards my sister, Sonya, and one other woman that was with them. “Mine! Mine!” Adir shouted as I ran up to them, stopping in front of the petite goddess.
She looked up at me in shock and her bright orange eyes looked over at my red ones. “Mate?” She whimpered as her cheeks blushed bright red.
“Mine.” I growled, moving closer to her hoping my sense of resolve dissipated the question I heard in her voice. I pulled my claws back and forced my eyes to change back to their blue ones. I want to see her through my eyes, not Adir’s.
She blinked and her orange eyes shifted back to soft green. She gasped and covered her subtly glossed lips. “T-Tobias?!”
I tilted my head a bit and stared at her soft features lightly highlighted under a thin layer of makeup with lusciously long and curly golden-brown hair. I froze when I noticed her features were too familiar.
